Hi Cassie,
I bought the one, from the first round of grip mats, which fits perfectly in my misti.
And that really has been a game changer for me.
It sits in there, being my best friend whilst stamping, and I take it out for stenciling or coloring. Whenever it is dirty or loosing it's stick, I just clean it with archival cleaner and rinse it well afterwards.

I have the original grip maps and i love them. I have one in my original misti and one in my mini misti and they are fantastic! I dont really use the grids, which is the biggest change with the new ones and i think they might be stickier. I have the 8.5 x 8.5 too. I got it for stenciling but havent used it for that yet because i dont stencil that much but i definitely would recommend them in you misti. You dont need the magnets with the grip mat in the misti. I LOVE them. Glad they sent you some to play with.

I have the fist generation 6 x 8 grip mat and I LOVE it. I think I'd seen Amy Rysavy use it first, and then it got the Jennifer Mcguire treatment. The only time I take it out of the Misti is when I'm stenciling something. Can't say enough good things about this tool.

I'm beginning to think I got a dud, because I bought the original to put in my Misti and it doesn't hold anything in place. I've washed it multiple times trying to get a decent sticking surface and it's just hopeless.

That's so weird. I did hear that the originals were definitely not as sticky as these ones. I never did try them, so I can't say for sure.
