Sweet card, Sara Lihz! I like the wider margins around the focal point. I've seen lots of cards made this way, and I like them more and more. Plus I can use up more of my scraps.
If I needed a new grip mat, I would definitely consider this one. It looks nice and sturdy. Thanks for sharing this with us!!

Awesome Card Sara, do you know if the Brutus Monroe stamp cleaner will also work on these Grip Mats? So glad you're livin' your Good Life AND being an English Teacher!! You Are AMAZING!!! 🥰

Thank you so much! Yes, I would trust that cleaner on the mats. It's intended for cleaning stamps, and this is essentially a really large stamp. Just don't use that cleaner on the Brutus Monroe Stick and Stamp Mat. It'll take all the stick right off. (Ask me how I know.)

I have used one of the original mats in my MISTI, and it doesn't seem to hold the paper down all that well. Is that normal?

Sometimes it depends on how clean it is. I would take it out and give it a really good wash with soap and water (just dish soap). When I need a SUPER good clean, I use Ultra Clean, which is a stamp cleaner. Hero Arts and Simon Says Stamp both sell it under their own brand.
At the end of the day, sometimes the paper struggles to stick for me too, especially if it's warped at all. I do think the newer mats are stickier and I have fewer problems.
