I grew up in those days and I've met Hulk Hogan, Macho Man, The Ultimate Warrior, Jake the Snake, Hacksaw Jim Duggan and a bunch of other wrestlers when they came to my town.... My dad snuck us into the hotel and I just walked up and asked them if we could meet them and they were so nice, but my dad was terrified because he thought the cops would come and give us problems, but they didn't call the cops. The next day we went I was able to get in the ring and bounce around and stand on the turnbuckles.... I'm glad I grew up in that era of wrestling because as a kid, the wrestlers were larger than life.

While they were together he was on "husband duty" as he thought it should be, when they were done for whatever reason he let it go. Dangerously posessive people usually dont know how to let go as their partners are their "possession" for life. Elizabeth was a BIG part of his brand & identity for years yet he let her go in peace. It was intense but I'm not convinced that it was malicious and that he was a monster.

Debra marshal in an interview referenced this. In her interview about how controlling and abusive Steve was towards her and said the Randy and Liz was a very similar situation. This is why lots of wrestlers don t like thier shoot wives involved in the wrestling like them
2 different scenarios. Randy never physically abused Elizabeth. He tried to protect her from the industry but he did it the wrong way and it caused his marriage to end. Austin didn’t protect Debra from anything.
Randy by all accounts never laid a hand on Elizabeth. He was definitely overbearing and was very overprotective but it was in good intention just executed poorly.
I believe they did the same thing with Stone Cold and Debra adding Stone Cold’s personal issues with Debra in the storyline of Stone Cold vs WWF champion The Rock at Wrestlemania 17 and I believe the issues of Kurt Angle trying to get with Stephanie McMahon that caused a rivalry between Kurt Angle and Triple H when Kurt looks like a simp as sucka for love 😄

Although a short clip, not one person used words like controlling, dominant or abusive while describing the relationship. I saw all 3 of those things as a kid watching wrestling back in the day. As a kid you think he is just being mean, hes a mean person, but when you look back as a grown man..... he showed control, dominance, insecurities and other forms of abuse on Elizabeth on our tv's every week.
What we saw on our TVs every week was scripted. He was supposed to be this jealous heel. I am not saying Randy was a Saint, but I believe his brother when he said Randy treated Liz like gold. It was Luger who beat her and led her to her death.
I was looking for this comment. Everyone is like, “he did it to protect her!” Dominating a person isn’t protecting them. People clearly said he was like this outside of the ring so it wasn’t all an act. It boggles the mind how nostalgia can make certain fans completely lose sight of some red flags here with this relationship. Calling it a love story just seems blasphemous.
One of the saddest stories in all of wrestling. As Beautiful as she was, there was always a sadness in her face even when her relationship with Randy was at its best. It always lookes like she was aught up in that whole world and couldn't get out. She whould have never gone to WCW. She should have left the industry when she left WWE.
Linda was no sister to Liz. Hogan stated in his book that she was insanely jealous of every woman he worked with and Randy for years after he and Liz divorced repeatedly stated that Hogan and Linda plotted to break up his marriage. Linda introduced Liz to adultery.

Randy went too far with his jealousy. The dude didnt know how to be in a relationship. I love Macho Man and everything but he needed to realize that if you love someone- you set them free. Otherwise, its just hard on everyone. He must have had pretty bad experiences with bad women when he acted the way he did. Always being suspicious of people just wanting to talk to Elizabeth. You cant control another human being. Its wrong and he cant expect a human being to be around him always under stress. It's not gonna work out. No matter how good of a boyfriend and hisband he was in all other aspects- this is when one fails badly. No 2 human beings can last together if they dont have genuine love, trust and respect toward eachother. Usually over controling people lose those he want to control. That is what always happens when u try to control another human being. Especially one living in a modern country with the rule of civic law. He should have moved to Saudi Arabia if he wanted this kind of relationship. And Im not even joking. Its remarkable how long it lasted considering the nature of the relationship.

Although a short clip, not one person used words like controlling, dominant or abusive while describing the relationship. I saw all 3 of those things as a kid watching wrestling back in the day. As a kid you think he is just being mean, hes a mean person, but when you look back as a grown man..... he showed control, dominance, insecurities and other forms of abuse on Elizabeth on our tv's every week.

What we saw on our TVs every week was scripted. He was supposed to be this jealous heel. I am not saying Randy was a Saint, but I believe his brother when he said Randy treated Liz like gold. It was Luger who beat her and led her to her death.
I was looking for this comment. Everyone is like, “he did it to protect her!” Dominating a person isn’t protecting them. People clearly said he was like this outside of the ring so it wasn’t all an act. It boggles the mind how nostalgia can make certain fans completely lose sight of some red flags here with this relationship. Calling it a love story just seems blasphemous.
I watched the whole episode and those words were used.
One of the saddest stories in all of wrestling. As Beautiful as she was, there was always a sadness in her face even when her relationship with Randy was at its best. It always lookes like she was aught up in that whole world and couldn't get out. She whould have never gone to WCW. She should have left the industry when she left WWE.

I know how that really feels man and I was once like macho Man protect my Ex-Girlfriend Lesley from talking to anyone and keeping her safe and respecting her and pretty much I was one stuffing like that back in 2017 and 2018 like that and pretty much and now me and My Ex-Girlfriend Lesley were separated because we kept fighting and arguing a lot and pretty much Now I know about Macho Man's dark secret He kept from the public for the last few years And I didn't notice macho Man had another side inside him when he was overprotective to keep Miss Elizabeth safe from other people and pretty much I'm just glad Dark side of The Ring kind of revealed that kind of dark side of Macho Man I never seen before or Never heard stories about Macho Man's dark secret and I know how that really feel and pretty much I thought Macho Man was a fun and cool wrestler but looking at his dark secret now in this episode reveals Macho Man was really serious and really protective back in the '90s but pretty much I never seen Macho Man being so protective keeping his ex-wife safe like that it's kind of messed up but you know every love story does and tragically and it does not end well for any love story or love couple like that
I take anything Hogan says with a spoonful of salt. That said, Macho Man was probably awful to Liz. Still arguably the best in the business of all time.

Randy went too far with his jealousy. The dude didnt know how to be in a relationship. I love Macho Man and everything but he needed to realize that if you love someone- you set them free. Otherwise, its just hard on everyone. He must have had pretty bad experiences with bad women when he acted the way he did. Always being suspicious of people just wanting to talk to Elizabeth.
You cant control another human being. Its wrong and he cant expect a human being to be around him always under stress. It's not gonna work out. No matter how good of a boyfriend and hisband he was in all other aspects- this is when one fails badly.
