  • Teddy Long tells a story about going to buy weed with Randy Savage long before he became Macho Man in WWE. The WWE Hall of Famer recalls the terrifying events that happened when a bag of cocaine came out. Also, he discusses why Jinder Mahal is in a better spot now as a manager than when he was an active wrestler. Mahal will be a big part of Superstar Spectacle in India next month with SONY SPORTS Network, the official broadcast partner, presenting him in a big way.
    Gear up for story time with host Mac Davis in this edition of The Wrestling Time Machine.

    My father was on a flight, from NY to Chicago - Randy was from the suburbs of Chicago. He walked on to the plane, sat down in first class. My dad noticed him. A couple mins later, after the flight attendants completed the pre-takeoff checklist procedure, Randy unbuckled himself, stood up in the middle of the walkway - put his arms up and did his flexing move.
    The entire plane went wild.

    I have serious doubts about this story.
    Firstly, why would you rob one of your own contacts, or one of your contact's affiliates? Not only is it bad business, but it doesn't make sense, you're essentially double crossing said person(s) over what? Were these guys really about that life or that world?
    Why would they take such a risk? It's not as if these wrestlers aren't exactly easily recognisable. They're on regular TV and their whereabouts can easily be tracked by gig dates and arenas.
    It just sounds like a really implausible suggestion "I know, let's rob a dealer of his cocaine and everything he has, it's not like anyone is ever going to recognise us or anything, it can't come back to us".
    Sorry, ain't buying it, the story is kayfabe, not a shoot.

    • @Jim-Tuner
      @Jim-Tuner ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have doubts about it as well. It could have happened in Georgia in 1977 or 1978. The right people were there at the time. And Dick Slater was crazy enough to do something like that.
      But
      - The stuff about putting him out with a sleeper hold doesn't make any sense.
      - At that time, Teddy Long was a nobody fan who hung around Abdualla the Butcher. I kind of doubt he hung out with Dick Slater.
      - You might get away with robbing someone like that once. But if the guy doesn't come after you, the story is going to get around to everyone else. And if you go looking for anything after that, you could get into serious trouble. People drawing on you kind of trouble.
      - Dick Slater would do that, but I don't think Randy Savage would be that crazy.
      If it happened at all, it was probably some really small-time guy in some small town that they took a very small amount from. If its true at all, its way exaggerated.

    • @Rondondemarco
      @Rondondemarco ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My concern about that story is how do they know if that guy ever actually woke up or not. That's a serious element that no one thinks of. The idea that a grown man was put in a sleeper hold 😴💤 by a big professional wrestler is a serious thing and that man may have never actually woke up. It's not like it's a fake wrestling ring style sleeping hold, he's talking a shoot in his words. That story Teddy told realistically could literally be looked at and lawfully considered strong armed robbery, assault, battery and attempted murder if that guy ever survived it to tell it at all and ever contacted authorities regardless of him being an alleged dealer. Yeah the more I think about it, that story has to be false in some ways or another or he would be legitimately considered an accessory even to this day.

    • @Jim-Tuner
      @Jim-Tuner ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Rondondemarco Yeah. Its a good point about potential charges against Teddy Long. marty jannetty told a BS story about killing someone when he was young and the story triggered a full police investigation.
      And if the police start looking, there is always a chance that they may find a bunch of random evidence that turns a fake story into a crime they can bring charges on.

Some wrestlers like steam boat may have never used illicit street drugs but you can bet your bottom dollar 💵 that they all used pharmaceuticals. I don't even think it's humanly possible to abuse your body and travel 🧳 year round like the old wrestlers and not have some kind of chemical addiction. Marty jennete actually explained it well on Boston wrestling roughly 2 years ago. They were all medicated all the time. The only difference was that some actually did more of both street and pharmacy plus juice and alcohol which is like death ☠️ in a bottle essentially when you really think about it 🤔

      How do you know that it was *some black dude* because he never states the race. Also the goofiness of the story actually sounds like it was some White dude and he stated that technically dick Slater is the one who choked the dealer.

    • @Hausbrauen
      @Hausbrauen 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

      @@Rondondemarco Exactly. It's a shame some people are so race-obsessed these days, they just randomly invent details like this into their minds and then post it on the internet as "fact". While it's fooIish to assume the race/ethnicity of the dealer altogether, it was still refreshing to see your observant and inteIIigent reply here.

    • @Rondondemarco
      @Rondondemarco 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@Hausbrauen Yeah it's their implicit biases and psychosis of yt supremacy. It distorts everything that takes place in their personal life if someone is of a darker pigment with wooly hair. It's a spiritual warfare between us being Jacob, the real isreal of the Bible and them being Esau of the bible if you get my drift. They have always been obsessed with those of us with dominant DNA 🧬 as they are innately recessive and actually come from us technically. That's their obsession with color, it's a demonic possession that does that to them. It's actually a sick disease 🦟 to be honest almost like a brain parasite 🪱 making them fixate on our skin day and night 🌃 even in fantasy world scenarios in their heads. It's deeper but I'll leave it there. I respect your positivity though nonetheless. Salute.

  • @juan3zz

    That's a F up story.🤨 Because, they actually put the guys life in danger. He most likely was selling that C for someone else. So when He went back to the guy that he was selling if for and told him that he got robbed, the guy might have thought that he was trying to get over on him. Hence, things could have turned from bad to worse for him, very quickly, in a situation like that. So I don't find this story the least bit funny. And I liked Randy Savage, he was was of my favorite Wrestlers.
    P.S. When Randy use to come to NYC, he use to get His C from this Italian Guy in the Brooklyn. But, he dared not try that nonsense with the Paisano, because things, no doubt, would have turned from bad to worse for Randy very quickly, I Suppose! 😐
