Made me smile watching and listening to your chat about getting into home-mode towards the end of your trip - I’m pleased to know I’m not the only one that gets that feeling and starts to turn back towards home, it’s madness but I think a fair few of us do that 🥴
Nick is very helpful down there mate. He is more than happy to get the issues fixed with these motorhomes. I have a few little things to get fixed soon. Similar to yours. My guess is the manufacturers are mostly at fault with these issues, seems like motorhomes in general now aren’t as well made
Nice wheels , swaying me to change on my MH , I've got a ring doorbell , used 3m tape which has been solid to be honest , used it on the bracket so that the unit can be removed and charged when needed . Got mine connected to WiFi in MH . Glad issues have been sorted 👍
Hi Chris , you could get some clips 3D printed to secure the fly screen and stop it rattling if all else fails. We made the change from a VW to a motor home and the extra room and comfort more than compensates for the annoying rattles that you hunt down and try to eliminate with every journey in the motor home
There are so many unbelievable scenic drives in Scotland . However for me it is the drive between Strontian and Glen Borrowdale on the Ardnamurchan peninsula. It is an absolutely stunning drive along Loch Sunart and through the natural oak forests that border the loch. On the way you can visit Pollock a tiny hamlet, possibly the most remote hamlet in the uk. Plus there is Ardtoe, Castle Tioram and so much more beautiful scenery.
I do it too Chris, well close to home ‘ish’ might as well push on, then get home and we spend the day saying ‘AWH we could still be there right now’ 🤷♂️
I have fond memories of riding my motorcycle from Newcastle up to Fort William then across to Skye absolutely awesome. Well that was in 1998, the internet was still in its infancy and the NW500 yet to be discovered…..enjoy your trip 👍
Hi Chris! My name is Ellie from Sussex Campervans, and we are a big fan of your channel! Our vans come with all new, mains powered interiors for those pesky times you are caught out without power. We'd love to talk to you about partnering up with you, to introduce you to our new vehicles, which could aid your awesome trips off grid! Let me know if you'd like to hear more
Great vlog Chris, we have a Mobilvetta k86, it’s a different layout but the same components. Firstly the door fly screen shouldn’t flap, I have checked mine and it’s solid, it needs replaced. The oven slide has 2 small screws underneath that you can tighten up. Hope that’s helpful mate.
We had a Pegaso which come out of the same factory and could never understan why the flyscreen doesn't open from the hinge side of the door. I was going to change mine but sold it after 10 month's didnt like the build quality.
Always great videos Chris with great scenery. We recently got back from Arran having bought your guide, loved it. Curious to know why you aren’t fussed on the Isle of Mull as we absolutely love it there, beautiful dramatic scenery and fantastic beaches.
The A82 is mesmeric! I love that drive on the way to Skye, its breath-taking! With regards to the drone, don't stand on it lol, just grab it from underneath when its hovering and tip it upside down and it will cut off. I never land mine in case the ground is uneven or whatever and it clips a blade or flicks a stone up and hits a blade. The van looks much more practical for your needs. Keep the vids coming.
I’m with ya on finishing earlier than we should. Once we know when we’re heading back we kinda rush the final day or two as we’re working our way back home. Don’t usually end up home early but mindset-wise it’s the journey home rather than holiday-mode. Keep trying to change how we think but still needs some work 🤨. Great van and can’t wait to see how it evolves - ever so slightly jealous 😝
Loving these MH vlogs 👍 The squeaks and creaks never go away though, get rid of one and two more will appear. Self levelling will make a massive difference best money I’ve spent on the van !!! ( and I’ve spent some money on it 😬) Just done the full Victron upgrade and makes life so much easier than the basic shite the manufacturer fits as standard. And as for MH size, we did the NC500 in our 8M MH dragging a little C1 behind us no problem 👍 btw, order coming over for a set of travel guides 😉
That was great was privileged to have driven that road many times but still leaves you full of wonder and thinking that’s amazing 👏👏😊.your review of your motor home is an honest assessment
Hi Chris gonna watch your video later , just want to thank you for the delivery of your ultimate Scottish road trip book which arrived today , looks great , just over a week ago we picked up our brand new campervan and having never been to Scotland , I want to head up there and ride the World Cup mtb dh tracks up there can’t wait . Cheers Phil
Great road to drive and occasionally get the shit scared out of you as you sit taking in the view as low flying jet screams past you from behind, Mallaig and the Silver Sands of Morar are worth a visit
Great vlog as usual, love Scotland and sorry to hear about all the problems with your van, all manufacturers have build issues unfortunately its profit over quality not great when you've spent hard earned cash. Enjoy and see you on your next adventures.
I'm still in shock you bought a coach built 😮 As for pushing on to get home we opt for a pub stop 1 to 2 hours from home, somewhere we wouldn't necessarily visit taking the time to explore and chill
Your van is beautiful. Have you tried using draft excluder strips down the sides of your fly screen? That might stop the rattling? Brilliant video I love it.❤
This video is killling me...all my favourite spots! Oooh the Clachaig.... ...from an Aberdonian in New Zealand. What's the issue with electrics? Whats the payload for the two of you in that van? ...and did you consider a Burstner 744? Were still dreaming/planning but thats our ideal layout too so we could live/work from it....and a mobilvetta is one of the few that sits at 3.5t.
Hi Chris, great blog as usual. Please can you tell me what site you stayed at as we are going to go back to Scotland and looking for new site's as we have a caravan. Also, how can we buy your travel guides. Also what model Shark hoover did you get. Thank you, Ian and Karen Williams
The sharp link is in the description. It’s ideal. Www.sloanesmedia.com is the website for our guides. The site we stayed at is the Braemar Caravan site. 👍🏻👍🏻
Surprisingly I like it a lot. It’s smooth and in all fairness for most of the roads 4th gear pretty much deals with everything. I was expecting to dislike it a lot in comparison to the auto box on the grand Cali but it’s been fine. Obviously if I could pick I’d still change it to an auto tho
@@ChrisSloanes 👍 our camper also has a manual box despite me not driving a manual car for years also surprisingly enjoying even though I have to take a run at the bigger hills. Keep up the great videos and 🤞 you get the snags sorted quickly 👍
@@ChrisSloanes I always enjoy your videos. I’ve just bought your NC500 book and am looking at the Ultimate Scottish Road Trip as well. Keep up the great work.
Why are you working out your fuel consumption? it'll say on the dashboard, trip time, instant fuel consumption, average fuel consumption, estimated range etc, use the tech and relax a bit.
Yes, we do that thing. Leave to go home a day or so before the original plan. It’s a bit like “I’ve started so I’ll finish (heading home)”.

Hi Chris, just a quick note to say thanks. Our two travel guides arrived today, which was fast service, so many thanks, Karen and Ian

It’s good to see how much you love the new van, despite the issues you’ve had with it, and we’re flattered to get a mention in the video 😊
Another mention coming in the next one too as I pretty much ordered most of the bits you guys recommended in one of your videos 😂

Chris, that thing that rattles on your oven is supposed to be like that. It pulls out when the ovens on to stop the knobs getting too hot
That’s true
Get some drying mats/pads from Lidl or Amazon and place them in the oven doors to stop the rattle.
Love the banter between the two of you …..

there is a lot of big updates on most dji drones just now what i have found is if you dont update them regular they tend to play up a bit anyway enjoy

How do you secure your dogs to travel? We are currently building our campervan and looking for ideas
29.5 is very good my van is fiat ducato 5.4 metres only does 32 it can do more but realistically 32 mpg.
Mines a 6.3m ducato on the maxi chassis.....30 mpg with AT tyres.....with previous Michelin used to do 32mpg but ride comfort has been transformed
I agree we do the same if we are not far from home we just crack on and get home.❤

Great to see you out and about guys, especially with the dogs.
Is that a pic of Whitby Abbey in your ‘lounge’? Happy adventuring 👍
It’s a photograph I took of Fyrish Monument in Scotland.
Enjoyed nice chemistry between you both.
Great road to drive and occasionally get the shit scared out of you as you sit taking in the view as low flying jet screams past you from behind, Mallaig and the Silver Sands of Morar are worth a visit

Great seeing you putting out all these videos Chris!Interesting to hear your thoughts on Mull as it was on the possibles list for next year.

Clachaig, legendary#bootbar. Can't wait to be back up there this winter!
I find Oban, (one of my favourite places) has the best Fish and Chips the one in the centre of the town if your ever that way . Love the new van
Wow that view makes my heart sing stunning ❤
Can you not grab hold of the drone and turn it upside down. Apparently that switches it off. Might ave you damaging it.
Brilliant job guys. Thoroughly enjoyed that.👍

Get yerself up to my neck of the woods!! Just up the road from Dingwall towards Ullapool, beautiful, stunning, sometimes sunny!!
A nice pair of noise cancelling headphones was my last step in mine!! Now I have to check the rev counter to see when I need to change gear 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Get Dani a Velvetiser we have 1 in the camper awesome for hot choccy and Lattes buddy

Just purchased two of your guides. We are looking forward to planning our next trip to Scotland. Thank you for sending me the link.
Do you think you'd be just as happy with any other van the same size/layout ?
Chris you could take your cans to the castle 🤣😂
Me and me wife do that pre home thing aswell 😂😂
Loving the videos - maybe tweak the background music down a tad when you are talking as it can drown you out
Have you been to Pitlochry and Callander?
What motorhome is it
How you finding the manual gearbox on your road trips?

😂😂😂 ahhh no I think I have officially turned into a Geoff
@@ChrisSloanes I always enjoy your videos. I’ve just bought your NC500 book and am looking at the Ultimate Scottish Road Trip as well. Keep up the great work.
Hot chocolate has to be made with milk, unacceptable to use water 🤮. 😂 otherwise, great vlog 😜 x
Has anyone ever said you look ronan keating .
Yeah you 😂
Why are you working out your fuel consumption? it'll say on the dashboard, trip time, instant fuel consumption, average fuel consumption, estimated range etc, use the tech and relax a bit.
For some reason it only shows something like litres per 100/km so I had to convert it.
That's a bit annoying then. Nice trip though
I've driven on the A82 a few times and you're right it is gorgeous. Can you drive your van on an ordinary car licence, please.
