    It took about three weeks after starting a plant based diet for me to start feeling good. My body was not used to all of the fiber so I had to move slowly and there were days I didn't feel very good. You just have to keep going and add fiber slowly so your digestive system has time to adjust. It's worth it so don't give up.

    Oh my gohhhhh..... I just broke a 3 day water fast. Sweet JEEEEEESUS - being hungry is AMAZING. I'm having a big Instant Pot full of steamed carrots and quartered onions, with a loaf of wheat berry/lentil bread (similar to Ezekiel) and ohhhhh mannnn.... So delicious, I can't stand it. Loaded with fiber, and all prepared from 100% unprocessed ingredients. I put juuust a tiny bit of salt in the bread, about 1/3 teaspoon. It is all wonderful!

    People never address the fact that if you stop eating meat, or at least eat less, not as many animals will die. If enough people develop the habit of not eating meat, even if it takes a while it will cause even more animals to not die. When you make someone stop doing something too fast, in many aspects they think you’re taking something away from them. In our society a slower plan takes a while, but it’s worth it in the long run.

    Green split peas and oat groats used to give me HORRID diarrhea. It took a couple years for me to adjust 100% to eating them every day. I took it slow, adding a tablespoon of the food to my meals, adding more over time. I used loperamide to control the gastric upset (1mg after meals) when I needed it. Now, I can eat literally a (dry-weight) pound (cooked) of oats and green split peas in a single meal, and it all digests in harmony with my body.

    The recipes in his Fiber Fueled book are already excellent, so now there will be even more! However, I hope it's not too ethnic, beause that would make it difficult for me, since most of those ingredients are impossible for me to obtain here in southern Italy.

    My friend started a plant based diet 5 months ago, her hair on top started to thin out and her doctor told her it was due to her diet, low consumption, or no consumption of animal protein, same thing was happening to her sister and her sister Introduced fish and eggs back into her diet and her hair is coming back in...meanwhile my friends hair continues to thin out on top and sides...why is this and can you explain what is going on?

    • @RichS.74yroldbodybuilder
      @RichS.74yroldbodybuilder 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My hair is better than ever on a plant based diet but I do make sure I get enough protein. Maybe you just need supplementation through a plant source more than you are getting? Try looking at other sources besides just green leafy type vegetables look for a little more dense protein source.

      @@RichS.74yroldbodybuilder I’ll tell her but she takes supplements and also eats tofu and other proteins besides vegetables. Her doctor told her her diet is not balanced to try eggs a couple days a week. It’s strange ( or maybe not) that her sisters hair is growing back, but not hers. So there is something missing in her diet obviously. This diet is not working for her, but it helps others ( hair wise).

    I think should be careful to say it's the "fibre" , processed fibre which I suspect has no or near none nutrition might be something like bamboo fibre which is completely different to the bran on a grain which is high in protein, fat and micronutrients. If people just move to an ultraprocessed version of fibre with nothing but cellulose it might actually produce harm, US people have a high carbohydrate, high fat, high protein diet already, adding fibre to the list if it's processed like those other nutrients might achieve nothing or worse cause harm.

    I just got the book fiber fuel and I have to say I am very disappointed of how much recipes are in this book 👎. I was looking for this book fiber fueled to have more about science and the gut. I haven't read it but I did notice half the book is only recipes. I'm a chef so when I bought the book, I was looking for actual science based content. 😅 can your next book be only about science? ? I think he said what he wanted to. It's 400 pages, so if he published a 200 page book would you have had any complaints? It's not uncommon for these types of books to have recipes to help people get started eating in a new way. Not everyone is a chef, many are clueless. It's one thing learning the science, another implementing a change in a practical way. He would have got advice about appealing to the majority. Ignore the recipes and read the 200 pages of science and find peace in knowing that many are benefiting from the practical help included.
