Time to Flood the Rice for Duck Hunting | Waterfowl Impoundment

The rice was planted 125 days ago and now it is getting flooded. Hopefully, the ducks will be dropping to this waterfowl impoundment when duck season starts in a couple weeks. Should make for some great duck hunting.

How did you plant that? Did you plant it by hand with a spreader? Did you just broadcast the rice seed and it volunteer came up?

Volunteer is when you plant a crop in season one then do nothing and it comes back on its own in season two. For this, I lightly decked it with an ATV disc and use a spreader on the front of my ATV to toss a seat out on the ground. Here’s the video that shows you how I did it.
