- A couple of you asked some questions about how I set up my trash pump to run on a 5 gallon gas can as well as wanting to see more details on the entire process. So, this video is for you guys as I get ready to continue flooding my duck impoundment.

I’m pretty excited for this season. We’ve planted some rice and millet in a couple spots and the rice is producing seed. Can’t wait to see how well it does. I’m in coastal SC and planted July 23rd so a little behind you.
Cool. I am excited too. How’s the rice doing? That might be cutting it close.
Good job love what you doing from Australia👍👍🦆🦆🦆
Thanks! Are you guys still allowed to duck hunt down there? I heard they were trying to take it away from you.
@@fowlplayoutdoors68 They’re trying to ban it some states haven’t had duck season for 25 years Some still have a short in season my game license is still the same price for half a season
@trinityyin9190 that’s terrible to hear. Wishing you the best.
Thanks for sharing, I was wondering how to make an extended run time gas tank. BTW, saw 4 woodies this morning with no shot..this season is starting just pitiful but I keep going and stay positive 👍
It really was pretty easy to set up. Just make sure you keep the can above the carburetor. I’m actually seeing more ducks for this time of year and I normally do. It’s been a little unseasonably cool. Maybe I’ve got your Ohio ducks down here in North Carolina. Lol. Actually, Nate shot one that was banded in Ohio last year.
@@fowlplayoutdoors68 that’s good you’ve got more ducks, that food source definitely helps. The frost got ours last night but I’m hoping some survived, lots of money down the drain 😢
I have 2 five gallon tanks running to a tee then to the pump. Runs about 300k gallons each fill up! I’ve been through several of these pumps though. Don’t seem to last long. Could not get the tank off mine so I took the housing that has the pull cord off and hooked into carb there.
I’ve thought about trying to run more than 5 gallons but I’m a little uneasy about leaving it running that long continuously. My pump currently sounds like it’s about to come about but it still starts first pull.
when are we getting an update on juans spot? Thanks for the info on the pump!
Soon I hope. May head down this week.
Thanks for sharing!! I’m in NC as well. Will be interesting to see if we have enough cold weather this year to push the ducks down south. Have you hunted with your buddy that built that impoundment down east yet?
I’m headed to Currituck the second week of November to hunt with my son in-law whose has a duck hunting guide service. I can’t wait!!!
Take care and thanks for doing these videos!!
Don’t forget to put shells in your gun when you sit down in your duck blind next opening day!!! LOL😂
Yeah me too. Supposed to be almost 80 by the end of the week and we need rain. No, it’s not done yet. He ran into some snags. I drew some leftover permits for Currituck Refuge. Never hunted but want to. I’ve got some other permits out there too. I’ll definitely be checking the chamber. Lol
i have the same pump, but i have 2. i put them both on a trailer and i used a 55gal tank for gas.. the pump can run for about 3 days before the oil sensor shuts it off.
your gaskets are prolly wearing out. just wrap it up in plumbers tape. also they have a porcelain ring on the pto behind the impeler, if you are getting blow back from the housing, thats what it is.
Whoa, I would love to see that set up!
@@fowlplayoutdoors68 i call it the dueling dragons! haha i dont think you can put a picture on here.. i assume you are on facebook? ill try to find you!
@@tracelinam4664if you go to the main page of my channel, I’ve got an email address published.
Haha this is ccjj. I didnt know that was my youtube handle. Thanks for the shout out and longer video. Just a reminder get that gun loaded next time haha!
Hey Corey. Thanks for watching. And thanks for rubbing my nose in it a little. 😂
Happens to the best of us! That's real life and the kind of content I want to see. Most people would have cut that part out, but that's the good stuff.
@@CoreyJenkins334yep. Besides watching those ducks drop in was to pretty to leave out.
What’s the difference between the metal and the plastic shutoff valves?
The metal one in the picture? It’s more of a selector to be used between two fuel sources. My original plan was to leave the stock fuel tank and be able to select between it and the 5 gallon can. Similar to the fuel reserve/cutoff valve on an ATV. But, didn’t have enough room for it so I didn’t use it at all. All I used was the fuel filter from that kit.
Just took the gas tank off the trash pump. On top of the stock gas tank had a hose connected to it. What did you do with it?
Nothing. It’s just a vent for the tank. Just make sure your axillary tank has a hole to vent as well or you’ll get a vacuum lock and gas won’t flow. I cut a small hole in the underside of the handle. That way it vents but rain won’t run in it.
Awesome thanks so much !
