I'm also a 48 gen x Mom, and these ideas weren't available for us. I have had to work crazy hours and take call most of my daughter's life. I've had major Mom guilt, but people didn't take into account my feelings about the situation. There weren't remote jobs or flexible schedules. Employers didn't really care what I needed. I had to do what they expected for the job. I think these younger generations are able to set more boundaries, where we weren't given that option. Employers seem to be considering and accommodating the younger workers more. We couldn't say no where they seem to be able to. Maybe that's because my generation is in a lot of the management roles now.

Not all jobs offer flexible hours or home office even if the technology is available these days. But the youth-chasing at work is real. People give you weird looks if at certain age you aren't in certain position even if you love your job and don't want to cut throats for the next promotion, not to mention you love taking care of your family!

She’s speaks of such a modern materialistic view. Please look up and interview Susan Venker. Young children need their mother. It’s tough bc it’s crapped on in our culture but it’s the truth.

Yes. It's not "easy" but you can absolutely get by on one income. Many people happily do it. They live wonderful, comfortable lives. People think they need more "things" than they actually do, and that leads to more debt and overall less happiness. Less is more. And having children is a blessing, especially if you are able to be home with them and truly enjoy them.

It helped me to move past some shame I have been dealing with, because of needing to lean on my family more during this season.
And I am going to apologize to my husband for sending him messages that he's not doing enough to provide. We are a team. Working side by side is normal and right! Praise Jesus!!! A weight has been lifted!

life can be so simple for women if they just follow the laws.problem is they have the little voice in the back of their mind making it complicated
