I am 74 yrs. I watched this podcast late last night. I went to sleep totally psyched! This morning I took tiny steps towards exercise, decluttering, relationships, and diet. I know this sounds like a lot, but at my age I have no time to waste! Just wanted you to know "its never too late"! Love you!!!!

Two MAJOR TAKEAWAYS: Complete the action and the feelings will follow & tomorrow YOU will thank you for what you did today. One small action each day makes a HUGE DIFFERENCE in your life. This is great motivation! Thank you. ❤

Also: pre-commit to some non-negotiables like auto-depositing 10% of paycheck or not smoking that can have a big impact towards one or more of the big five areas: health, money, career/purpose, relationships, home.
I would add: praise your progress and use Temptation Bundling to make things fun. : - )

Consider the various ways ppl connect with others. Consider what time and cost you have available and then consider who you will connect with and which ways work for that person and for you. Set aside 20 minutes perhaps each month and reach out to a few ppl then. Investment , even just minimally, as I mention, shows that you are validating others and thinking of them. It requires some investment just like a job, paying bills, taking care of your mental and physical health.

I 100% agree! I've relistened to it twice already and I've taken notes. I'm creating a plan of action, writing my non-negotiables and really thinking about all five areas and what small thing I can commit to daily to move them all forwards. SMALL THING being the emphasis. I so appreciate this episode above and beyond the hundreds of other videos I have watch with Cas. This one is going to be a real game changer for me...and Cas, you have already changed my game quite a bit. I cannot thank you enough.

    Dear Cass,
I am a fellow ladybug, and I completely understand about “being good” and consistent when it comes to healthy eating.
This is especially hard when you are surrounded by family members who don’t have to eat as healthy as you do.
As for me, one thing I started to do to help me was to pre-make healthy breakfasts one month’s worth at a time and then storing it in the freezer. Then in the mornings, I would prep a healthy lunch and a healthy dinner during breakfast time so all my meals are taken care of ahead of time.
I work a part-time job and operate my own business and I have a busy family, so just doing this one thing has saved me several hours a week that I would have spent being stuck in the kitchen.
Meal prepping all my meals was impossible, but breakfast was super easy. Now my two best friends are my crockpot and my instapot.
It leaves a lot more time to do more important things - like cluttering my garage. 😂 Anyway, good luck with all your health goals. Thanks so much for all you do. I love to use your channel as a body double while I declutter. ❤
Take care and good luck with everything.

Mindset is very important. Telling yourself I should isn’t helpful, it’s more stressful. Being honest with one’s self is very important. Baby steps is the key to long term success. Doing it because you love yourself is easier to change what you do, rather than doing at of fear. I love your tips and tricks for adhd. ❤

Correct, some words just don't seem so palatable and I don't use them.
Cancel using should. Replace it with I want to.
Cancel using chores, and say "there are some things I want to do".
Cancel using :Someday or sometime and plan a day and time to get something done.
      Say "I will". Say " I can".

Thank you so much for this video. This is exactly what I have been thinking about. I feel like I jumped back into my life last week. I had gotten so comfortable at home with my crats during and after the pandemic thing, but it had been really bothering me that I wasn't doing things I had been doing before and I knew I should do. Last week I started going to a gym 3 times a week to walk in the pool which is 4 foot deep the whole length and 4 days a week I am going out in service (going door to door looking for people that want to study the bible). By the way I'm 65 and can't swim. I've made it 2 weeks now. Gotta keep going. Thank you so much. I'll probably watch this again.

God Bless You. I did Bible study in my home years ago and it was so rewarding. It started with a few people from Church ⛪️ that, with me, knew they wanted to learn and study more of the Bible. Then, it naturally expanded.
And being healthy in the pool too. I started out walking regularly with my, then fiancé, (now husband) and we do it together (he was doing it first) and we feel so good. Healthy mind, body and soul with and because of God. ❤🙏🏽😇 Thank you for sharing.

Big Yes to Dave Ramsey. I don't agree with his politics, but his "Total Money Makeover" book and his Baby Steps are game changers. Follow the 7 Baby Steps and you can improve your financial life 100%.
I also started exercising for 5 minutes a day (because I HATE exercise, and I couldn't make myself do any at all.) I have done 5 minutes a day EVERY DAY since April 11. Even if I feel awful, or I'm too tired, or whatever, I can make myself do 5 minutes. Yes, I need to increase the time, but for now I am actually succeeding at something I was a total failure at for my whole life, which I am taking as a win.

I've been in and out of debt all my life. I'm 70! I totally understand your journey. Just recently I've gone back to Ramsey teachings. It's so disheartening how many times I allowed debt back into my life when debt had been totally gone. This time - for the first time - I actually heard Dave Ramsey say 'grow wealth'. I'd never 'heard' that before. I was never in a place where I was growing wealth and getting to financial peace. I only heard 'get out of debt'. I'm on a new journey. I'm committed to financial peace. I've been scared and financially insecure all my life and didn't even know. I regret I didn't start a lot earlier but boy am I glad I'm doing it now.

You're very special, Cass. So wise! So funny! And you have made amazing strides in your health too! And I bet the people in your life deeply deeply value their relationship with you! You really do have your stuff together in all 5 areas! But I guess that everyone should always strive for better. You helped me see that I have it somewhat together in 2 areas. 3 others, not so much. Sugar is an addiction for me. I have to be abstinent. I've learned that even sugar substitutes can still be a trigger, but they did help me give up real sugar. This video was EXACTLY what I needed to hear today, and so many of your videos have helped me in the past. THANK YOU to yesterday Cass!!!

Cas, when it comes to health it took focusing on “diet” for my hubs condition and I spent a lot of TH-cam hours looking into and ultimately cooking WFPB diet. Learning to make deserts with dates and/or maple syrup changed everything. Spend a lot of time dipping your toe in EASY recipes. Chef AJ, wfpb cooking show are a couple who helped me, learning things like The Pleasure Trap. Like the decluttering it took a while just bathing my brain in the idea before trying the ideas, but slowly everything is changing.
Your podcasts are life changing for me, really! The procrastination one is GOLD.🎉. You are also still grieving so be gentle with yourself and take the “should” out of the conversation. ❤

Thank you so much Cas, love your podcasts. I have actually begun to declutter in tiny steps - did my dressing table top this morning and threw out a load of stuff and it feels so good! have to work on my non-negotiables concerning my health and home. One thing a day seems so doable. Of late I have been fluffing my cushions and tidying up my sitting room before going to bed at night. Feels good! Maybe add: declutter one small space a day - a drawer, a shelf, a surface in my home. Something doable and not overwhelming, that can be done in half an hour. And go for that morning walk that I have been telling myself I will start soon!
And regarding money...we had loads of debt and were drowning in it, but focused and slowly paid it all off, though we had to make sacrifices. Feels SO good to be debt free. My way is not to have a credit card at all. Spend only what I have, and no more. It has become a habit and we don't even miss having a credit card any more!

Thanks for all you share, especially giving awesomeness to my future self! You could be a life coach 😊

Wow, Cass, what a great video. It's practical, honest, and most importantly, actionable. I've found in my recent health journey how important small changes and patience can be for achieving real change and lasting results. Slow and steady definitely wins the race. What great direction on how to evaluate each important area of life, and how to put an achievable plan in place. Absolutely one of your best! ❤

Thank you for this honest video, Cas. I totally relate with you so much. 3 areas of mine need work. The “do one thing” and the “non-negotiable” are super awesome. I will work on implementing that. You are wise, witty, and your videos are so engaging, even with little editing like this one. Let’s all do the one thing now.

Not enough people are as terrified of debt as they should be. We did the Ramsey baby steps 23 yrs ago. Took about 16yrs to be 100% debt free including home. Our salary averaged out to 54k so we did it on an average salary. Changed our life!!! Our life is so peaceful now. Been going minimal for last 3yrs has freed up even more of our paycheck for nice experiences since we just don’t buy stuff anymore.

This was a great podcast! I have been on the hamster wheel of debt as well and need to binge on some more Dave Ramsey type podcasts. We will get home from work, not have dinner planned and at minimum we go out once a week. I decided to see if there was such a thing as pressure canning meals that would require little time to make and so far I have found a few. We have managed to “behave” a few weeks and make meals at home along with using high end grass fed organic meat in the meals. It might be expensive to buy that food but it is cheaper than going out and cheaper than the health issues that cheap food gives us! I will also go with you and make a “work out” goal. The basement equipment is calling.

I love this video so much!
One thing that helps me is NOT putting things on the list until AFTER I do the thing. I list EVERYTHING I DO. Get dressed, take meds, eat breakfast, call for an appointment, put on my makeup, etc. It is very motivating to watch the list get longer. Pretty soon I am going and I forget about the list (my most productive days end up with the shortest lists). However, if I need the list all day, at least I can look back and know I did SOMETHING.
When I have some things I really need/want to do, I allow myself to put the three most important things or "next action" to things off to the side so I can remind myself to do them. I can't put any more than three "to do" items until I get rid of one (either because I did it or I deemed it less important and crossed it off). My ADD brain can't do long lists of "to do" items because I just go in circles.

The money segment - oh my! SO true~ Getting out of debt really completely changed my life! I would have never guessed that I'd be at this point...where I pull money from my savings when a nice CD rate comes available. I have 3 cds right now earning about 5.5% interest. I feel so much more in control of my money now and can handle emergencies or repairs when needed. I breathe so much easier. It is SO worth the effort.

I’ve put it off this month and then I just close my eyes and spend. I pretend it’s going to be fine when I know it’s not. So today is write out my budget day! My tomorrow’s me will be so much happier and relieved…

I am a perfectionist and an overthinker. It struck me when you said that I am exhausted from all the stress and feeling overwhelmed every day. For me, it was exactly this that made me decide that I want to organize my life differently. I was stuck in a pattern that led me to a downward spiral. And I'm the only one who can stop this. As you often say: no one else is going to fix this for me! For me, our home is a major stressor and for me the first thing I can tackle and I have the confidence that I can get this under control. So this is where I started. I participate more actively in a Facebook group for the extra accountability. And I watch and listen to videos for inspiration and motivation. I hope that as I gain more and more confidence in my abilities, I will also dare to improve other areas in my life.
Thank you so much for this podcast Cass! 🙏 I will listen to it a few more times so that I can familiarize myself with the material to get the right mindset.

I definitely have realistic and manageable ideas for non-negotiables for my weaknesses now. I also recognized some areas where i have changed my mindset in the past and it worked out extremely well, just like you said, so I know this works from personal experience. But i've never seen it brought to a concise point like this ever before. 💕👏😍

Life is dynamic and as you say you must work in all along the way. You will switch from one another as needed strategically. Use electronic reminders, set a notification in your calendar as an event to call your friend or visit your Mom. I setup from your recommendation an alarm to change the sheets every Sunday. So that item I just eliminated it from any followups … and feel free thanks to you. With finances and payments or filings or docs renovations just creat a table and catch it in a single grid ….and you are in control. Thank you Kat.

Thanks Cass for this podcast. So motivational and said exactly what I need to hear. We are not alone in our struggles. And there’s no shame if we are failing in any of these areas. Baby steps is truly the key. I have the non negotiables of dishes laundry and tidy each day under control. Now I need to strengthen some relationships cut out more sugar from my diet-it’s a daily struggle! and work on eliminating debt! I too am a procrastinator but it really is doing a little toward our goals really pushes the needle forward. Very empowering podcast. Thx for taking the time on a Sunday night to record this. I’ve so far just listened to the section on health. I love your honesty and vulnerability. I just want to urge you to not think of yourself as”bad” or “good” if you follow your eating plan or if you overeat. Your diet and exercise habits do not reflect your internal goodness.
You are a good person!! Be kind to yourself as I know you are with others. Even if you eat that cookie or pint of ice cream you are still “good” but could, perhaps, make a different decision next time. ❤❤❤

Thank you for your honesty and transparency Cassie. The basis of most of what affects the other 4 areas is my health. I eat healthy, I don’t indulge and still can’t figure out why my joints still hurt to the point I can’t use them, brain fog, blurry vision. I removed gluten, dairy and a host of other foods from my diet which help tremendously but I still have it. Biggest take away. I just need to have control for that 5 or 10 seconds as I window shop on Amazon. I’m going to explore the career mindset…I never considered calling it a career when I don’t get paid for it
