I think I have said this 10 times on TH-cam or FB Brian has such a great method. Slowly over time you learn by osmosis. He does not cram anything down your throat he throws scales theory chord shapes playing melodically at you all within these clever tracks he creates and little by little you learn more and more but it happens naturally and without it being drudgery or feeling forced. It does take time and some commitment and this does preclude you from learning from other sources as well but over time Brian will make you better. I love being a premium member

I agree 1000000%. I have looked at dozens of teachers on here over the years and Brian is the best by far ( for my needs anyway). 50 years of noodling and at last I seen the light.

I love to play melody. When I play guitar that’s what I desire to do is pick out the melody of songs as if my fingers are singing the words. Especially old hank Williams song. They make fantastic melody instrumentals

I love that clean tone. I'd love to see it make a comeback. Van Halen proved you could use it on a modern song, when they used a clean fender tone on the song "Finish What Ya Started".

This is helpful, useful stuff. Finding an understandable way to create an inventory of notes or a "pallet" to work with, as you describe, when you are trying to improvise, is a tough challenge for some of us. This goes a loooong way towards helping to establish and apply that inventory. Glad I am a member! Thank you for this lesson.

On or around 15:40, I believe the bending note is the 4th note of the scale bended up to the 5th, which in this case is G to A. The next bend was a F# to G, which is the (major) 3rd to 4th note of the scale. Does that sound right?

Nice Lesson. Beautiful playing. There is a 13th chord hidden in the A7...almost..I had been playing it since 72..I didn't even know what a 13th was till 15 years ago. I was playing bar chord G7 3rd fret and playing rockabilly style..moving pinky back and forth on B string frets
5 and 6. I noticed I was playing the
flat 7 (F) of the G chord. Then the E. The 6. 6 and 7 is 13. That's not a major 7..only works with a flat 7.
Again easy 13th chord.

awesome. Reminiscent of the slow country lead video but better. Combining the cord arpeggio with the corresponding scale creates just the right amount of tension and interest. The 3/4 timing really works well here. But the biggest take away, viewer get the knowledge and ingredients to making their own master peiece based on the wisdom shared here. Not my thing this week Brian, love your stuff and am a member and massive fan but this week I'm not taken, Country is not for me.
Burnley, just curious is all. Nothing more. Why in the world would you take the time to leave the comment you made?? If country is not your thing --- then it's not your thing. No big deal. You know Brian is diversified in his catalog of teachings. No need to let it be known you don't like one particular lesson of his.
Country would be a good place for a beginner to start. We all vary in our abilities. You have to crawl before you can walk. Tommy Emmanuel says that he plays about 8 hours a day. There's a video of him playing a lead on Rollin in My Sweet Baby's Arms with other country musicians. Good enough for him; good enough for me!
