- Today, we will compare not specific brands or models but 2 security camera types. Security cameras that can track like the Reolink Trackmix, Eufy SoloCam S340 or the Wyze Cam Pan V3 and compare it to dual lens 180 degree panoramic cameras like the Reolink Duos and see which security camera platform is better especially for dependability and reliability.

I used to like tracking cameras but this video made me rethink that.
Thanks for watching!
I used to use all tracking cameras. After a couple of years I saw the downfalls of them. #1. I have 2 dogs I monitor in a large back yard. This has been super helpful with one dog who was an escape artist when he was a puppy. He jumped the 4ft fence in certain places. He also got his head caught in the gate once. The camera helped review and fix these problems. Anyway, 2 dogs means 2 subjects running in 2 directions. Tracking cams can only track one subject a time. I ended up using 4 existing tracking cams as bullet cams. The next issue was in the event of a power failure, the tracking camera would reboot and then point in a place I did not want. Recently I replaced all 4 tracking cams with real bullet cams and all problems solved. I also have a DUO2 in the front and it is my favorite camera. I'm considering a 2nd DUO2 for the back yard for better coverage.
I really like my reolink trackmix poe. It really zooms in and the spotlight, combined with the optical zoom, can get a clear image of a face in the middle of the night.
I have the dual lens Anke, it was expensive, but holy smokes that 1.0 aperture is insane at night. Like dead of night and it doesn't need any light or IR and its almost as clear as day, really impressive.
Wich model caméra do you have?
@@RorolapIt sounds like the ANNKE NightChroma NCT400
@@Rorolap it's the NCD800 its about the same price I paid for it, 300.
Thank you for the informative video brother and for your time and effort. Your videos are always on point and useful .
Really appreciate your time and effort in helping keeping us informed and updated.
Thank you. I appreciate it.
I like how you me tion that the tracking camera could be a good additional backup camera. I love backups 😊.
This is the video I needed!
Bro i love your videos. Really helps me decide the best cams for my home security
Thank you. I appreciate it.
It is great to use them both in combination...single lens or dual lens can be used as backup for the tracking Cameras .I used RLC-811As in combination with my two Trackmix.
Thanks for watching!
I use both,I have a track mix to track and a duo underneath it. It's a great combo as my track mix is made for distances well my duo2 is made to watch the areas that my trackmix can't. Track mix has blind spots that the duo 2 can pick up as I have it fully facing down. Both work great. Track mix was better for identifying and staying locked on the subject well the duo watched it's blind spots
good review.. I like the tracking and i like you to do a review on the new Reolink Argus Track . The standalone does the job as you pointed out in your video.. What i like to see in the future with tracking cameras is that it zooms in on the face so you can ID the crooks.. also zoom in on plates..
Yes, a comparison between The Trackmix and the Argus Track will be phenomenal!!!!!
I was gonna ask that myself . The Argus Track or the Duo 2 ( hope ReoLink comes with a Duo 3 battery one to hook a solar panel to it)
Zooming in on faces is doable with a firmware update but I don't think about licence plates. I can see the track mix locking onto a person and then switching to a parked car licence plate as it already does that with mine. They seem to love red cars
Ahoy, there, mate 🙃🤘🏼 new AI, tracking EUFY 4GLTE camera out. Can wait for your review. 😉
Coming soon!
Reolink Poe auto tracking hands down. Keeps the creepers away from the front door.
Does this one automatically say something when human is detected? On a schedule or in general?
G'day I have a Duo2 as well as an 823. I have to much foot trafic and it confuses the camera. The 823 is great for getting a better view if waht is going on around the area. I want to add the 16x version when funds allow. I use the 823 as an extra with fixed cameras covering all areas. My 823 gets about 250 degrees unobstructed with one point of intrest about 900 meeters away.
Excellent video.
Thank you very much!
Go to source for security cameras. Great content.
Thanks for watching!
It seems the more pixels they add, the more night time ghosting there is, since it is software processed. The tracking cameras as least will keep motion with a car for a little bit, so that blurring is not there. Wish they came out with a better night time version.
CAN this cam work with my other 3 cams on my pc using p2p client
PTZs are great for custom monitoring. You can put your query right in the middle of the picture and zoom on in optically to get every single detail. Duo cams can't do that; they only do digital zoom and start to pixelate quickly, even for a 4k camera. A bullet camera is fixed so it is only good for fixed locations such as doorways. Once the query starts to move side to side or close in and farther away, that's where PTZs shine.
Auto tracking is not reliable in complex environments such as multiple persons/buildings, etc. More than once, when a person disappears behind an object momentarily and, when they reemerge, auto tracking would stop tracking that person. Auto tracking would require much more advanced AI analysis than what the current generation of cameras are capable of.
@LifeHackster Will you be testing the eufy 4G LTE Cam S330? I am interested in buying this for a remote property. Thanks.
I will. Thanks.
@@LifeHackster You are welcome.
@lifehackster A comparison of the Trackmix and the new Argus track please. You can throw the duo 3 in there too!!!
Not the video I was expecting. I thought you were going to compare reolink’s new duo with their trackmix
There is a new eufy 4k version of the s340 now. Curious how this unit is? Worth the upgrade?
We will see.
On your screen you are cutting off some image(@4:10), turn off overscan for the screen, it'll fix it.
That Reolink Duo 3T looks like a re-badged Annke.
Good quality video
Thanks for watching!
I think the tracking cameras are better suited for smaller spaces, more of a indoor use. they seem to over track a walking person outdoors and have to move back to center the person. and their distance range isn't that good for outdoors if you have more than 1 acre lot.
Great video, I wonder if Eufy will come out with a dual camera that stiches the wide field of view. I’m happy with the Eufy E340 Floodlight camera for my driveway.
Hopefully, they do.
Side note, I wondered, what kind of internet are you running to support all these cameras 😅
or does it have its only app thank you
after using auto tracking for 3 years, I don’t like it at all, next camera i’ll use only wider lens camera
I am completly lost . I want to buy cameras for protecting my home, but i really dont know wich is better? I live in france, i prefer wifi caméras for wireless system, i need a good AI System to avoid false détections. I have a little dog and i really need to know wich one is better . I need at least 3 caméras 2 in front and one on back of my house.
If you can help me please....
Maybe wifi cameras are not the best system, but is more easy to install.
I was lookinf for solar panels systems too, but cameras are a real jungle....
If you need more details of what im looking for, just ask.
I got the tracking camera only because I needed to get 16x optical zoom.
Will you ever do any videos on smart thermostats or are you sticking to security?
I made some videos in the past on smart thermostats. We will see.
I have a tracking cameras aswell
💐👍🌹🌷💐 thank you.
Welcome 😊
more cameras more better. I think the most ideal install is to have both camera types a dedicated ptz auto tracking and other fixed position cams like turret dome bullet or dual lens type to see elsewhere when the auto tracking cam is following something in a specific direction. If I'm to have only one camera I would consider a dual lens 180 fov cam for its overall versatility that a auto tracking might miss with a not as wide 130ish fov depending on where its facing. another point to consider is to know your surroundings and high activity areas for persons pets vehicles and setup your terrain to your advantage like with furniture fencing perimeter trip alarms.
pro tip for poe cam installs there's a way to connect two poe cams using one poe patch cable run with 2 Y shaped splitter/combiner cables. reolink makes a kit that also includes 3 waterproof connectors. this can also a way to add a second cam. the kit should be universal with all poe cams but I haven't tried it with other brands.
Thanks for the splitter tip!
Bro are you gonna review the new 4k eufy camera?
What?
@@michaeln.8401 the eufy 4G LTE camera - its 4k as well.
Yes, whenever it comes out.
So My other 2 cents is this .. Lets says someone does a drive by shooting on your block.. You have the car driving by your house at high speed and you heard the gun shots.. The car is moving very fast so its hard to see what kind of car it is. Now if you have the auto track you may get a better view of what kind of car it is.. However at night when the camera hits the plate of the car it reflects back and white washes the license plate making it unreadable . 2nd if you can figure out the make of the car the person who did can still get away with it because you have to prove he was in that car at that time pulling the trigger.. So it wouldn't matter in this case if you had auto tracking or Not... The only thing you can have is a video of a car driving very fast to give to police which wont solve the crime.
