I purchased 3 of these to cover about an acre surrounding my home. Just a few days later, a person unknown to me came onto my property and committed batter of a senior citizen over 65. The deputies downloaded the video and made an arrest immediately. The person was charged with a 3rd degree felony, and initially told deputies that I had " charged them" and they were defending themselves. The cameras were invaluable in both catching them as well as proof that I did not provoke them in any way. I highly reccomend!
I'm sold on this mine will come in in a few days. After seing this I have 64 acres this is perfect awsome review showing features and real world quality
I have to do another video, the best part of this camera….. I can ZOOM up 300 yards away and the movement detection STILL works!! This camera can be triggered from deer walking in the woods 300 yards away!!!!
@@oxford821 yea buddy. Get in my freezer already hahah I can hear my wife now where you goin with that 270 " babe the camera found that buck while u was cooking dinner ,
Love this Demo thanks.. got one of the 16x PTZ for the Mrs so she can track the wildlife around our house. Got the standard RLC-823A for the front of the house (as I like the spot!) and 4x Reolink 4K Dual-Lens Floodlight Cameras for each side of house. Not looking forward to the install but the products look really good!
How are you liking it? does it track big animals like moose, deer, or elk or is it just pets? I'm trying to decide between this and the new Argus Track
Can honestly say none of the mount screws got used any of the reolink cameras I have bud lol they are trash they don't self tap at all so binned them and think they came with sleeves for brick and plaster too for 811a's they were useless as well but a minor issue as I have better stuff on hand thankfully. I have the normally 823a 5x version so was curious to see what it was like. Good video. You're funny bro hahaha found me sneaking around 😂
They have some now that use an IR laser for long range night time lighting. I have seen some that will light things up out to 1/2 mile, up closer they are much brighter than the older standard LED IR lights. I'm looking into one that has a 36X optical zoom along with AI that can recognize both people and cars, plus put both photos, video and license plates into a folder for you to name later.
Can adjust all of the things you mentioned while walking and talking. How long till it gives up etc. Notifications 😊 it's much faster than the original 823a at keeping up with a moving object, impressive. Although mines chasing cars as fairly close range so doesn't get much time to react before they are on camera then off again and it absolutely moves just a little slower than I'd like. Hopefully next software update will fix that if a few people have mentioned it. I've found the tech support actually amazing with these guys phone and Web both brilliant. And they are super active engaging with customers on reddit even lol very unusual for a company to be this in touch with people. 😊
Only thing I wished the 16x had that the. Non zoom one has is a wider Field of view and the ability to set zones for it to auto patrol. Rather than just looking for movement. But no zoom.....
Hi! great video! well done. All my security cameras are from Reolink. I ve been a reolink user for years, but I never used PoE's. I always wanted to try PoE cameras but the installation and setup is a bit of pain for me. though, I'm very curious with this model. If I buy a wifi extender and place in my garage, and wire through garage roof to the camera with ethernet cable, it should work without NVR ? I have no experience with poe/nvr system... 😅
This camera is hard wired. The POE cable powers it and sends the internet signal. If you can get a good WiFi signal to a router in your garage, then wire it to camera, you should be ok
Mine gets out of focus all the time by itself and its only a month old. It also moves position on its own. Not worth the hassle. Reolink did replace it once but it kept happening and they dont know why.
Hi just a question do you use Patrol Mode? If you do don’t you worry about like motor wear cause I’m considering using patrol mode but not sure that’s why I’ll ask you on your opinion
have the same one - wondering if you got this cam to work on anything other than the ios app since it does NOT work with synology surveillance station (dsm7.2.1) nor the current osx reolink client app v3.5.6..
thanks for the review... so once it is hooked to the internet, do you have a NVR, or does it go to the reolink server with no other hardware between camera and internet??? thanks!
I just let it write to the SD card inside. You could purchase a NVR and store to info there. I think Reolink may also have some sort of “cloud” service
In no way is this expensive for a PTZ with 16X for the the quality you get lol and I'm in Australia where we pay way more than the US or Canada for electronics. I got 2 for under 500 bucks of the 5x original 823a's on sale normally round 400 each here at the time. Sales are where it's at though for bargains. If you got one of this in Hikvision, ANNKE, DAHUA and especially AXIS or something you'd be over a grand US even for anything I reckon 😂 So cheep for what they do.
I have a bunch of them, mine are all white, Reolink Go PT plus. I believe the trail cameras are the exact same ones only with camo and an extra $50 I love them

Tracks everything. Works great
I love how you point out improvements that are needed!!!!
Thank you
Thanks!

Yea some cheap hardware. Haha thanks for watching!
great job, awesome product demo.
Right on, thanks!
These are great we have a bunch of them in our data center mounted and it does a good job tracking everyone.
Yea, pretty cool!
Wow this camera is awesome. Wish they had a cellular version also.
Me to!

Mine is super sensitive at night. It nonstop alerts.
I like your star link

You are best hard wire these cameras , dont use with wifi extender
What a great review. Is it noisy, ie will it annoy my neighbours?
Can barely hear it move
Thank you so much for such a prompt reply.
NICE DEMO, I USE THE GO PT NOW, CAN THIS RUN ON CELLULAR LIKE THE GO PT?
No. It needs to be hard wired to a router
Mine gets out of focus all the time by itself and its only a month old. It also moves position on its own. Not worth the hassle. Reolink did replace it once but it kept happening and they dont know why.
Do you think the RLC 823S2 with the spotlight 2,600 lumens is better?
I don’t like using a spotlight feature because every time an animal or bug triggers it, the light would scare them away
@@oxford821 that’s true better not to have a light version
The only thing I wished these cameras had was the spot light. I want this but waiting to see if they have a 20x or above.
I use the 16x optical, the. Pinch zoom the digital
Yea mine is shit it wont track while patrolling and doesnt zoom on the object if it happens to track.
Hi just a question do you use Patrol Mode? If you do don’t you worry about like motor wear cause I’m considering using patrol mode but not sure that’s why I’ll ask you on your opinion
I’ve never tried that. Animals constantly come in front of the camera, it’s always tracking without any problems so far
@@oxford821thanks for the reply that’s awesome you must get so many good shots! 😊
have the same one - wondering if you got this cam to work on anything other than the ios app since it does NOT work with synology surveillance station (dsm7.2.1) nor the current osx reolink client app v3.5.6..
Mine is just operating to the Reolink app on my iPhone
shouldnt it zoom in when tracking the person/animal?
Mine doesn’t zoom unless I do it?
I wish it would auto zoom in for better reference of what it’s tracking
That would be great

Perfect, couldn't find that info anywhere. Gonna get one to watch my dog and house at night while away on holiday.
Can this cam recognise car plates at night?
It’s definitely clear enough to be able to read them but I haven’t tried that yet
Are you able to test it?@@oxford821
ty very much for the video
NP!
Do you need to connect it to the internet
Yes, this one is hard wired to a router
I would swear a person is holding the camera.🙂
Right!
Very good, but too expensive.
They have pretty good sales if you subscribe to their website

Expensive you try get a static 16x you are paying the same price this is dirt cheap
I have 10X, which is under 50@@Manc-king
How much did this set you back in $$$$
$286 with tax and shipping. Reolink has sales often. I wait till then to purchase
max horizontal view angle 54.2 degree is not good enough
Have you seen the reolink trail camera? They would be awesome to try
I have a bunch of them, mine are all white, Reolink Go PT plus. I believe the trail cameras are the exact same ones only with camo and an extra $50
I love them
Where is the 16x zoom
On the app, touch the PTZ button. It’s in there, zoom.
If you run, it won't keep up, and the video will be blurry
Yea, it’s not that good!
Does it sense voices?? I wonder why you are whispering??? LOL...
Haha.. yea what the heck was I doing? Those cameras must be sneaky
I really did love it! you did a good job.... @@oxford821
