Awesome. What I also suggest to completely revolutionize the look of the Casio Royale is to adapt (if you have one) the 22mm resin strap of the Casio Duro. I have two Casio Duro which I use with NATO straps so I had two 22mm diver style straps that were unused. So I turned one of them into a quick release strap, using the extra pins you find in tools kits (or as spare parts when you buy quick release straps) so I can quickly use it, if I wanted to, with the Duros or any other 22mm LtL, and for the other I had a very obvious but extremely easy and effective idea. I just used a very good blade to cut the holed part of the strap, turning the 22mm lug to lug resin into a 18mm one... And it looks AMAZING on the CASIO Royale. If you carefully use a good tool blade it's very easy and it looks as if it came that way from the factory. I have two Royales and for the other one I adapted a 22mm Bond Nato and that also looks awesome and it's very easy to do
Once you've sized the bracelet (which is a f**king nightmare) it's actually really cool. It doesn't pinch my hair and feels great. I like how it clatters and rattles a little, it's like a vintage Rolex sub!
Same! I’ve got some serious arm hair but after adjusting (and almost taking a spring pin to the face) it fits perfectly snug and haven’t pulled out a single hair since
I'm literally wearing my Casio Royale with a Vario strap right now as I'm watching this video! It really takes that watch to another level, and though it does cost nearly as much as the watch itself, I feel the combined total cost of the watch and extra strap is nowhere near the value I feel I get out of the combination. The strap makes the watch feel multiple times more premium
Exactly. Glad I'm not the only who who thinks it's super good. Spot on with the combined value thing too. Completely agree. I always think picking up a strap or two specifically for one watch prolongs the enjoyment. Thanks for wathing mate, and thanks for the insight into your Royale experience too.
I picked my metal one up in Argos for £29.99 about two months ago, as soon as I got it I bought a black NATO for a fiver on Amazon and it looks and feels great. £35 all in for a top watch, can't go wrong 👍
I bought the silver one & black one and wore them to death....but using polywatch- I was able to get the scratches out. They are great watches that have so many complications for such an affordable price. An amazing watch that was never in a James Bond film but looked like the Seiko G757 (which was the actual watch that was in a James Bond film). Even after daily wear abuse, they still look decent and work fine.
I loved my late great Seiko G757 (water got inside and it corroded). That model also appeared in the action movie Blue Thunder: "You know he checks his sanity with a watch?" "So what do you check yours with? A dipstick?") and that similarity between the Seiko and the Casio was why I went out literally today and bought an AE1200WHB-1B (black resin case, camo green bezel, two-piece pseudo-NATO strap). I'd been tossing up between the silver and full black. Fancied the silver for looking more like the G757 but thought silver resin would look cheap and show scratches. Was leaning towards the all black but it seemed too plain. Then I spotted this model and it didn't do any harm that it was 30% off at AUD$69. The green bezel lifts it quite nicely. Looking forward to it being a daily wear.
In my country, there's an official casio store, and they offer the royale with two color variations with nylon band. Green-black with green band and Black-green with black band
I just took a 22mm strap, cut some of it with a VERY sharp razor blade and burned off some of the leftover stuff sticking out. It's looks good enough for me, highly recommend to do some DIY first, lots of fun (or disappointment) ;) Edit: now that I think of it, 24mm strap would be better
In what way is the resin strap far from ideal as you claim in this video? I have owned my A1200 for five years and the resin strap still looks brand new. It’s comfortable, easy to clean and looks compatible with the case. I also think a metal bracelet on a resin cased watch looks ridiculous.
You can get a 22-24mm strap and cut the sides of the holes to get a 18mm while leaving the rest the same size. Cheaper and you can use any strap of that size
I bought a metal mod kit from skx mods. Now my casio royale is black scratch resistant dlc coated metal, sapphire glass and gold buttons. The buttons are so much more comfy to use and the watch just feels so premium now.
I think you are right. I also think you are wrong! Yes, the leather strap looks great but I think the metal bracelet looks futuristic like the watch. The leather looks better on the black case watch but for the silver watch, it HAS to be the metal bracelet. Imho. All the best.👍🏾🇬🇧
Amazing watch I own a few pairs of the Casio models but with this mod it’s looks for someone whose a modern day Indiana Jones or a wildlife photographer. Great watch mate!
I disagree. The bracelet is very comfortable for me and never even once pinched my arm hair. And for my taste it does look far better this way compared with these leather straps. A matter of taste, I guess, but not for me.
Yes I'm going for one of these Kieron, I've kept mine on the supplied stainless steel strap until now. Its truly awful, apart from being really uncomfortable it sounds like you've got a box of spanners hanging off your wrist!! Nice video and good advice as always. Cheers 👍
