Mitsubishi are no stranger to the pickup market and this one is true to form and thankfully has more creature comforts than the L200 I remember. There's stiff competition with likes of the Volkswagen Amarok, Nissan Navara \ mercedes X class, Toyota Hilux and Ford Ranger. Some of the extras feel a little forced, the keyless entry system makes sense but somehow feels forced.
Does it stack up well against other UK Pickups? The engine used is capable as has more pull that I initially expected. Engine noise was loud and agricultural in sound but that is not out of place in a vehicle like this. The ride quality was good for a pickup and the looks are acceptable, though not necessarily to my liking. Fuel economy is good for it's class and that's certainly no bad thing. The problem seems to be that the interior of this model is not as hard wearing as I was hoping for. This is probably different on other trim levels but it really was weird to find so much cloth on the interior of a works vehicle.
PROS: Rock solid feel, strong engine, reasonable ride quality, good fuel economy.
CONS: Gearbox felt dated, non hard wearing interior.
