    As an Mitsubishi technician/mechanic I can tell you that you can change the joints on the prop shaft, however if you greese them every service just as Mitsubishi want they run atleast 200.000km.
    And the airfilter needs to be changed every service, or I can say I haven't seen one so far that I could recomend to drive to the next service... You get it back on the fuel consumption...
    Diesel filter: you should tighten the ring untill you feel a "click" otherwise it's not tighten enough and you'r probably get a leak.
    Here you can look at a video i've done about the rear brake drums:
    th-cam.com/video/370l9is1j1A/w-d-xo.html
    It only take 3-4min/side so it's not that big of a job. (yes, it's a one take video 😁 )
    I also change airfilter in the cabin.
    Cheers from Northern Sweden!

    Great video's, many thanks! - I only subscribed the other day, but reckon I've watched the lot on the your series 5 L200 already!. I just picked up a 17 plate Barbarian auto last week, so still getting used to it. I'm certainly finding it a bit different to my 06 plate manual Animal which I had for 12 years, but waved it by-by with its new owner at the weekend.
    I think my Series 5 is a bit different in some areas to your own one, certainly as far as it has a strange looking attachment to the forward end of the rear diff housing, I'm not sure what it is, and suspect its some kind of mass-damper arrangement, but I'm confident you would know exactly what it is. I also believe the rear bumper on this car has been replaced and has either the wrong fitting kit on it, or its not compatible with the cars tow-bar, since it sits at the wrong angle and is about an inch and a half too low. I have some photos, but not sure how to get them to you - any advice would be well received.
    Keep up the good work, and thanks again!

    Hi, great videos, i wonder weather you could point me in the right direction with my problem ? i have a 2017 L200 and having only done 2000 miles since the last oil and filter change i have a dipstic reading of excessive ( A being low and B being maximum and the X being excessive) i have no warning lights on the dash, even the DPF light has never come on . many thanks Paul

    • @CarAddictGarageNE
      @CarAddictGarageNE  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yeah I can help….. this is common issue with all vehicles fitted with DPF, every time you have a failed ReGen it dumps diesel into the sump (well not directly) so you find your oil level goes up….. it’s not a good thing as it dilutes your oil and you can wreck your engine.
      Regular ReGens and regular oil changes is the only way forward unfortunately.
      Thanks for watching 👍🏼

      For the automatic checks on these if they ain’t leaking there isn’t much to check as there is all special procedures to do before you can correctly read the oil level.
      I have not had massive amount to do with the autos, as for servicing them I would take it to automatic transmission specialist, may cost a few quid but definitely worth it.

    Hello and thanks for your information. I have same engine. Using it only for long journeys. I have regeneration every 800 - 1000kms. Car is used only for this and not for short trips. I have never faced oil dolution issue, respectively there are no failed regens and "oil level rising" issue. My question is if I change my oil and not reset the "Oil dolution counters" in the MUT3 or other diag tool , will this cause any issue?

    • @CarAddictGarageNE

    Hi pal. Do you have any info on an isu that’s just happened to mine.
    Just serviced my truck and I put ow-30 Castrol edge oil in. From what I’ve read up in the manual, that’s okay. And if fitted with DPF that’s oil you need?
    I’m a mechanic myself. But this has caught me off guard as it’s brought up a EML and pollution regen light.
    Any help would be great!!

    • @CarAddictGarageNE
      @CarAddictGarageNE  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      These engines are not overly particular to oil, long as it’s 5/30 C3 it’s fine same as 0/30 if it’s C3 spec will also be fine.
      All it sounds like to me is the truck requires a Re Gen, take it for a 7/10 mile trip at a continuous speed of about 60mph in 4th gear so your around 2500rpm and set the cruise (make it early morning or late at night) so you don’t need to slow down it speed up, and that will complete a re gen.
      Make some you have plenty fuel in and it’s fully up to temperature before doing this.
      Oh and if you have a code reader see what’s logged, could be anything from a DPF pressure sensor to temperature sensor, or simply just requires a re gen

    Hi for the normal factory jack the manual indicates that you jack it on the axel in the rear...is that correct?

    • @CarAddictGarageNE
      @CarAddictGarageNE  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching 👍🏼
      This might sound daft but I never use the factory jacks as I hate them, it’s either a car lift or trolly jack.
      You could jack on the rear axel..... but be very careful as all the brake pipes and ABS wiring run along it so if anything slips your going to cause big problems.
      My best advice is buy a mini 2ton trolly jack, but I personally prefer the front jacking points at the front, and at the back anywhere on the chassis or spring hanger points as they are the strongest most stable points.
      Seen too many people get seriously hurt using factory jacks, I honestly not even looked but i assume these L200 have some kind of bottle jack over the horrible scissor jacks in cars.

    • @CarAddictGarageNE
      @CarAddictGarageNE  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No problem at all happy to help 👍🏼
      Yes I understand what you mean, i never like jacking up on axels either..... but I have become some what lazy having a garage/lifts at my disposal, not used to jacking cars up with jacks it’s very rare we ever use one.
      If the bottle jack comes with a U shaped adapter to cup around the axel then I suppose it would be safe enough to do basic wheel change..... but I definitely wouldn’t be underneath the truck.

    • @Antwan674
      @Antwan674 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@CarAddictGarageNE yep its got that u shaped adapter which the manual says it shoulf be aligned to the curvuture of the axel...🤣🤣....the jacking point is too far underneath the vehicle...like you saying def wouldnt want to be underneath the vehicle at any point when jacking

      Yeah we occasionally do automatic gear oil changes, just not had the chance to record one, as it’s difficult in a busy garage recording and dirty jobs end off getting oil all over my equipment.
      But next chance I get I will.
      Easy way of doing it, what a lot of dealerships do, is refresh the fluid draw out as much as you can with a vacuum pump down the dip stick tube, measure it and replace it with same amount of new fluid

    Just bought one off these on a 18 plate. Done 100k in that amount of time so was cheap. The chassis n that look rusted ter fuck. Got a nasty vibration at 1500 rpm. What you reckon? I should change the the diff oils and maybe the tranny oil? (Auto)

    • @CarAddictGarageNE
      @CarAddictGarageNE  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      On an 18 plate it will definitely look worse than it actually is, needs a good scrub down and get it waxoyled… have other videos on that.
      These are known for prop shaft issues and they are dam expensive, best get that checked out, and the engine and transmission mounts.
      Would definitely be changing everything if you just got it, oil/air/fuel/pollen, front and rear diff, transfer box and automatic gear oil.
      18 plate will still have makers warranty as these are 5 year, might only be 100,000 also

      Yeah ideally you only want it to the max mark and not over.
      I just use a vacuum device down the dip stick tube to draw off excess oil.
      But ideally no you don’t want to run it over the max mark
