Totally agree, just installed mine, that controller is so buttery smooth and quiet compared to my 6 year old square wave controller. I'm in love again❤. Also love the pas it just keeps you there whatever terrain you face, up hill, down hill, head winds, the torque is there to power you through. Your customer service is excellent too, thank you guy's. I'm a so glad I bought again from you. 😊
I listened to @DudeStuff 4 months ago and purchased the 1000w kit. If you are on the fence just do it already... BEST investment I have made in years and one of the most enjoyable summers ever!
I also built a 1000w rear hub. Like you said best investment ever. I cycle a lot but I can easily double the distance now. I am 57 and it keeps me fit, yeah one still needs to pedal. Wish I had built one years ago.
If you go that speed regularly it starts to feel slow. I’m regularly doing over 30 on my ebike and it feels fine because I’m used to riding a 125cc petrol bike.
my advice is if you get any high power e bike it may look nerdy this, but trust me it means you kind of stay under the pc plod radar!-front basket, rear panniers, full mudguards, hi viz jacket.
I always wear a high viz, nice mountain bike helmet that’s not too far from a motorbike helmet and yes full mudguards that cover both wheels (how could you even ride without them in the uk??). Never been bothered by the police and I’ve been riding these for years to commute to work for basically zero cost. The other day I got overtaken by the police when I was already going 30mph on a rural 50mph road 😂.
Only thing now is police are going full on zero tolerance on fast e bikes. Bloke who lives round the corner from me has the ultimate hack. He has one of those nerdy bolt on rubbee tyre drive e power kits. Well here's the thing-he's modded it to the power level of a 72 v 2000w! So literally in less than 10 secs you can attach it to a seatpost of any bike, and the same time to take it off, and it will do 50 mph!! Literally fits in a rucksack
Sick bike but that display is my least favorite there is no volt readout or battery percentage just battery bars and from my experience it's not the best display in direct sunlight either, I'm not sure why so many companies are using that display must be a cheaper option.
I’ve got my kirbebike set up and it’s all winding the only problem is the max speed it goes is 62kmh which is around 38mph is there a way to make it go faster line in the video cause h got up to like 40+
i got a 3kw and im having problems with the battery. i got scammed out of a battery and i have like no money to buy another dy have any good budget options for a 72v 3000w?
Excellent video as always Steve finally managed to log in to the Raffle website for the 3KW build had a 52 volt 1.5KW for a year absolutely love it done 2500 miles would love more power just bought a 60 volt battery looking for best hub motor and controller 2KW plus
2000w kit is the best all round for price/power. Will get you up hills and will easily do 30. I was was planning to go 60 or 70v but its pointless for me as its just a commuting bike. I will be putting the money into a new 52v battery and keep my old 2000w on the road.
Thanks Steve after doing a lot of looking around at pre-built dual motor bikes from the likes of Ridstar, Lankeleisi etc, I think the Kirby option is the best value in the long-term, very stealthy compared to the aforementioned and makes good use of a bike I already own 👍 ... also I just headed over to FB to take a look at this Scott and was saddened to read about Gabi. So sorry mate 😢👊
Hi Dude Stuff I have been I fan of the channel for a while now . I recently bought a Kirby battery 60v 20ah 3000w however when it arrived it was 1200wh still in the shape of the triangle (3000w) battery is there something I’m missing?
Lovely build Steve, very sweet! Got me wondering what amp are the kirbekits controllers on the 2000w build? Tell you what those Scott mtb's are (in my opinion) one of the best bikes to use to do an electric conversion.. Built mine (Voilamart 1500w kit & triangle 52v20ah battery, I shunt modded the stock 35a controller for rapid acceleration!) using a 26" Scott YZ4 'Voltage' (ironically named) MTB and it's a right little flying machine that destroys the steepest of hills at 25 mph and tops out at 39. That was 18 months ago and I've since covered over 5,000 miles on it - relatively trouble free. Best thing I ever did was build my own E-bike, I'd recommend it to anyone who wants an E-bike that won't disappoint fun wise 😅 makes me smile every time I go out on it! If building using a hardtail bike, get a suspension seat-post, it makes a world of difference to ride quality. Great content!!! ⚡⚡⚡🚲⚡⚡⚡👍
What battery would you recommend for a 1500w motor? . I have a 48v 17.5 ah battery, and as soon as I use loads of power, the battery discharges rapidly . I did 60 miles on pas 1 and 2 all the way and still had 2 bars left when I got home. Can you recommend me a good battery for this so I get more power and mileage thanks ?
I’ve got a 52v 21ah battery paired with a 1500w motor although my bike can pull 2300 watts in pedal assist 5. I got 28 miles before it died riding throttle only. Could easily cover a LOT of miles on this battery if I turned the power down just a bit but only need to cover a 20 mile round trip for commuting.

Are you not worried that advertising the fact you ride these on the road may result in police involvement? Points on your car licence etc etc, I wouldn’t be advertising it , incognito best.
no offence. With a thumb nail and title coupled with some footage of yourself doing "15 mph" throttling it down on the road no helmet... All this stuff helps police with knowledge they need on what to look for when they see anything with 2 wheels and a battery on it.
I’d hope that the police have better things to do than sit there watching ebike videos on TH-cam. The police phoned up Andy Kirby years ago when somebody reported him riding an ebike but nothing happened lol.
I used to enjoy speed ciclying in the Netherlands, when purchased 1000 W, but now there is no room where I can do it, feeling all eyes are on you, also police due to fckn law enforcements. Had to switch from 1000 W Hub motor to 250 W derestricted , because huge motor was so obvious on my bike, if police would spot me with this, I would be stopped and fined immediately. Such rules now in NL, you get fine not only for speeding, but even just for possessing such overpowered bike. Cycling turns into stress, all time looking behind, such as criminal escaping from police LOL. Makes me dream of having kind of police radar on my bike haha Would be nice if the stealth size 1000-2000 W motors can be found anywhere.
