Cymanti is pretty weak if you know how to play against them. They need a boost. I was playing Cymanti till 1400 ELO after that it is almost impossible to win unless you get a lucky starting position, needed to switch to Bardur to reach 1500 ELO.
@@smartFunable thats more indicative of bardurs strength than Cymantis weakness. If anything being second only to Bardur makes them objectively not weak lmao
Please do a similar one with Polaris. What do you do when close combat is controlled by tons of Gaami supported by ice archers , and hordes of knights traverce half the map to eliminate any ranged clusters , coming from the unexplored territory beyond the sea they fricking froze?
From A LOT of experience I find that polaris is absolutely unstoppable in the mid game. So If you see them super early either go 100% aggressive and try kill them asap, otherwise your only shot of beating them is in the super lategame when you have 100+ stars per turn and can battleship spam them. I also would really like a how to counter polaris video as I think they are the single most OP tribe in the game by a significant degree. I also think they are better on drylands than other map types so I may be missing something as everyone else thinks otherwise. It's just without battleships I don't know how you beat them. Plus they can still use trade on drylands and normal tribes can't, and without battleships they can spawn bigger units than any other tribe. To me it seems like on drylands they freeze spam you midgame and outscale you lategame so unless you kill them really early your screwed. Also aquarion gets you a little extra time to try kill them but once polaris can start spaming ice fortresses, aquarion is just as screwed as everyone else.
Great video as always! Your tips will really help me as I tend to panic once I realise I'm playing against Cymanti 🙈 And congratulations on being sponsored, you really deserve it for putting such good content out there! 🥳
I guess it comes back to the fact that they can't easily attack and explore at once, although a better player would definitely have more stuff. Either way they would probably struggle midgame
Archery is a really helpful tech to counter cymanti, the defense bonus on a warrior will protect them from beeing one shot by a boosted hexapod and will help you to preserve territory, and the archers themselves are very helpful to destroy body parts from the centipedes.
Yadakk is pretty good against cymanti, they can out expand them. After watching more: Yadakk not only can out expand cymanti, but their eco is pretty good for not starting with a city upgrading tech. They also have one of the hardest to get, but really good tech to counter cymanti, called roads. All they need is some stars to get riders and if they do it right, have all the cities to get stars, and get tons of riders. I typically do well against cymanti as yadakk. I think it would be cool to see more mirror matches for the non-standard races since they play so differently, because honestly I don't know how mirror match Cymanti really plays out.
As a cym main, I can tell you. I've seen a lot of mirror matches. Most of the time, it boils down to a race of centipedes and doomux. I.e, you're trying to knock out your opponent's centipedes with your own so that you get segments, or you speedrun doomux before your opponent can get them. But even then, getting doomux first is not an auto win. You still have to he efficient with them cause they're expensive and will leave you vulnerable if you rely on them too much. So really, all in all, it comes down to backing your opponent into such a corner that even doomux can't save them. At least from my personal experience
imagine Riders, if every tile was neutral and had a road on it. That's how it works out. i.e. a shitload of vision manoeuvring, distance management, and shamans dictating the dominance
@@kubakopcil9992 Pretty much, yeah! Early game is about spamming riders and trying to outnumber + outmanuever your opponent. Bad example game that was a bad cymanty player compared to what I'm facing most of the time or my cymanty games. The early game pressure is usually coupled with a much stronger economy in the middle game due to city expansion (those northern cities for example) and while fungi is an overrated tech nobody considers cymanty's op terrain they usually have lots of forests and animals similar to bardur but even better than that they have an insane amount of gold comparable to Xin-Xi which gives a significant late game boost, also you didn't even mention doomux or rayacci in the video (IDK if I spelled those right) bc if a cymanty player can get a formidable late game economy going which is easily possible with the cymanty terrain its not hard to get a good doomux spam with hexapod cleanup and in some cases a backrow of the cymanty catapults which cost the same as bardur but do aoe damage, weaken enemies, and on death give more economy in the form of fungi.
There are also some more ways which i used to defeat it using badur when i had 2 bases left and the whole map was conquered by cymanti😅 -use mind benders to tackle the super units -ridulously weak against water so save the bases with ports as much as possible as algae could pose a problem...
Honestly once I get a decent centipede going, there's not much people can do to counter me. Surrounding a city can break a siege with effectively 1 unit, of I mess up and get in reach of a mind bender I can explode my tail, and when backed up by catapults to weaken opponents, there's very little you can do, My only weakness is water, the naval update is crazy.
I would say Cymanti can get pretty scary let game with a good economy since Doomux are quite powerful but midgame there isn't really any strong unit besides Centipedes which don't have that many hp for a super unit
Cymanti late game actually sucks, they lack Knight's persist skill which can chain multiple kills and in the late game there are just too many units and Cymanti gets overwhelmed. The only chance to win as Cymanti pass 1400 elo is to get lucky with starting position :)
I have yet to see a Cymanti player that actually balances exploring, gaining tech, and building units correctly besides you playing as them on this channel. Would you possibly be able to show a game where the Cymanti player knows more of what they are doing along with their opponent?
can someone explain why the cymanti opponent exploded the centipedes body growth before moving it two turns in a row? does that increase its movement or something?
"Cymanti will easily defeat you with numbers" First if you have Polaris then sometimes buy enough Moonies to freeze opposing people and keep doing this until battle units arrive. Second they can only use the Phychi and Raychi to head on water. Meaning you can take Naval Superiority and boom you stopped Cymanti Expansion. Finally try and get a moderate amount of cities and then get all the tech tree finished and head back to expansion.
I feel like saying they're not so good late game is kinda harsh, last game I lost despite having better eco because of their doomuxes, which are just very hard to kill no matter what units you use - I had swordsmen, catapults and knights. 2. Strategy isn't really a great tech to get against Cymanti because you don't really get anything that's useful against them and doesnt lead to a useful tech
3. Defence bonuses are removed by Cymanti's poison, making them even worse
4. Defenders will get crushed by Centis, which will be harder to deal with because you got strategy instead of a more useful tech or some more riders
@@nithraliabrawlstars6541 Literally not true. It takes 2 unboosted hexas to kill a defender with no defence multiplier. Proof: th-cam.com/users/shortsr36nTWSTQkU?feature=share
@@yoppyyoppy6794 Sorry you are right. Somehow i had it wrong in memory. They are stronger than i thought.
Shields are Completly useless against hexapods.
can you upload how to counter polaris in late game please 🥺
I have played quite a few games with cymanti. In my personal opinion, you need to counter cymanti through road technology. Thanks to the roads, you can move units much farther than the cymanti and their shaman can. But if the map is tiny dry, then the cymanti are almost invincible. Only if against them are not the same cymanti.😊 🕷
yadakk :)
@@mysticcr8tor773 Yadakk is correct. But they have a slow economic development. I think the best opponent for cymanti is bardur with researched road technology
Hell yea get that bag gully
Yay thank you
Rip bardur strat with 3 cost roads and lumber huts
GULLYY SELLS OUT???
