BONUS TIP: If you smack a boosted unit, it loses its boost! It can be useful to send a unit forwards to unboost a centipede to stop it from being able to move forwards easily
Leave any replays you’re proud of below this comment! Here's a replay of me using these strategies to beat Cymanti as Hoodrick: share.polytopia.io/g/56aa5d18-a343-42fd-3330-08dc187ad8f7
I was just thinking how hoodrick didn't make it onto your recommended tribes. Is it because they have a poor starting tech in comparison to oumaji or is it that they get too many forests to begin with, making them more susceptible to cloaks?
@@average_peanut_fan3059It's mostly that they have a pretty slow economy. Their tons of forests don't help them much either, as hexapods just move through them and later cloaks get defense bonuses. But the main thing is that they can't upgrade their cities all that fast and don't have any advantages that let them get more cities either. They have a weak earlygame, and that's when Cymanti is at their strongest.
Cool video!! Do you plan on doing more? :) i wouldn't mind a guide on how to beat Elyrion, i always struggle mightily against them haha Btw i think we had a game recently where you used Hoodrick (i was Oumaji)..? It made me realise just how strong the defender + archers combo is, i still don't really know how to counter it as Oumaji
Thanks! I assume you're Lukre7? Wp. I almost had your northern city lol. In the end you did manage to overpower me with superior economy, and you were seeming to get a hang of what to do a bit more at the end. Defenders and archery always are tough to deal with as oumaji, but you dealt with it decently. I'm not sure about future videos about countering all the tribes. I feel like with the other tribes it's less clear what steps you might want to take. I want to do something related to polytopia, but I'm not entirely sure what yet. It could definitely be more tribe videos. If I do more tribe counter videos, I'll start with the other special tribes, so elyrion will be one of the first I do
Cymanti is the tribe that plays the most differently from other tribes. I don't think they're any harder to beat than the other tribes when you know what you're doing against them, and I think this guide should help you understand what to do.
Im a dirty cymanti player here to collect data so I can counter the countering 😈 id love to get a game against you that could make a good exemple for your video :)
Haha sounds great! Maybe I should get up matches with viewers sometime. Btw if you want to add me my username is yoppyyoppy. Send it to the computer account
I very rarely see centipedes that early without Cymanti neglecting exploration and you being able to get some extra cities to produce more units in. The strategy is still the same, get riders asap and leave enough space between it and your riders to prevent it from getting any segments. Explorer in your second city (depending on map type and size) to see centipedes before they attack you, otherwise try to estimate based on the opponent's score.
BONUS TIP: If you smack a boosted unit, it loses its boost! It can be useful to send a unit forwards to unboost a centipede to stop it from being able to move forwards easily
The absolute legend, he never misses
This video was so helpful! i kept getting destroyed by people playing cymanti but now I am able to consistently not do that anymore!!!
I think ill switch my catapult&Archer in the back line and warriors in the front with this one. This really is a good strategy
I've won so many games thanks to you!!🤩

The answer, as oumaji, to any given problem is actually quite simple: *m o r e* riders
Keep making Polytopia content! One of the best I’ve seen for the game
Huge Ploytopia Drama!!

Great video, very informative!
wow, thanks! this video was amazing lol
Would love you to do more Polytopia content 👍
Nice video, YoppyYoppy!
If an explaination of 15 minutes are neccesary to best cymanti, thats because that character is a skill issue.

Although riders are an effective against hexapods, using kitan as shields and attacking with hexapods is an effective way to counter riders.
More Polytopia pls

Just did, hoping for a challenge :D
You're MorrayGaming right? If that was you, wp. I messed a bit early on and didn't move onto a city, but you played very well
Yeah it's me, honestly I got a pretty lucky opening, gg
In short, the answer is RIDERS
Exactly lol
Pleeeeeeeeease make a guide for elyrion, I can't beat with them almost anyone!
You missed how to deal with turn 5 centipedes

Helps if you talk a bit slower or enunciate more. Especially that you tend to have a nasal voice.
