That’s really great to hear!! The Grand Canyon is one of those places you can’t really go wrong in. But it’s also a place where you can get stuck in one place. Once you walk to the edge there’s a part of you that just wants to stop and stare out and stay. We had to keep reminding each other to keep moving so we could see more spots. 😂

We will be spending a day at the South rim at end of October as part of our 14,000km "Road Trip" - it is a celebration of my wifes retirement!
Really looking forward to this, at this point it will be part of our Route 66 drive portion, and it will serve as a scouting trip for future trips so we can stay in some areas longer to explore!
We've thrown in an extra twist and doing it in our electric car!
Thanks again for the video and insights.
    Travel safe.

Hi- Not sure if you will reply since this is an older video, but we will be going in 2 weeks. Hopefully it does not snow.
How is this itinerary for one full day:
Walk to Mather Point from Visitor center.
    Shuttle to Yavapai point
    Shuttle to Yaki point
    Shuttle back to Yavapai point
Walk train of time to Verkamp (can we get food here?)
    Shuttle to Hopi point
Shuttle back to Mather point and walk to visitor center
    Drive to Desert view.
    Go to hotel for night

      @HintonTheTrail  หลายเดือนก่อน

Hello, sounds like an awesome day. This is all doable but you’ll need to start as soon as the shuttles start running and manage your time.
Yes, there is (or at least used to be) dining near Verkamp Visitor Center.
Even if you don’t make all these stops any of them are going to give you amazing views. Worst case…you saw the Grand Canyon!!! It’s a very humbling and beautiful place, enjoy yourselves. Also, find a place to watch the sunset if you can.

Though I've been to the Canyon over thirty times, I very much enjoyed your video. I'd just like to add a little help with pronounciation: Yavapai is pronounced "YAH vah pie" and Hopi is" HO pee." Any FYI, if you continue up the trail past the village, you cross a few billion more years of geologic information and you can also get to one of the most overlooked views--the Trailview where you walk down a series of stairs and get to see an overhead view of a large section of Bright Angel Trail.

    • @HintonTheTrail
