    You didn’t show bypassing the hot water heater when winterizing. Did you do this or do you put rv winterizer in the hot water heater?

    • @HintonTheTrail
      @HintonTheTrail 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      So this unit had a bypass on it for winterizing. It actually bypasses it when you switch the system to winterize. Some units do and some don’t. If you don’t have that setup you will need to bypass it.

    Here is my suggestion as well, 1. Use the reflective on the outside of the window, i use the command Velcro stripes to secure my pieces on all my windows, leave a air gap. 2. the skylight i actually use Reflective on both sides (inside & outside.). 3. in Arizona HEAT , I use again reflective on the top of my slide out toppers, cut it to fit, and hold down with clamps. 4. I also use 24 inch wide reflective all the way from roof to bottom, on my refrigerator side as well, one long strip. you might think I'm crazy but i add reflective on top of my ac unit, but don't cover the airflow. you will be amazed at the temp changes with these Ideas. all are cabinets / even our closet is lined with Reflective (((YES I USE REFLECTIVE LIKE CRAZY BUT WHAT THE HELL IM COOL. NOTE : I BOUGHT A 12 VOLT FRIDGE to replace our old propane/electric Norcold best money spent

      This system had a hot water tank bypass built in. Some of them do and others don’t. Yes, we drained it and it then put it back together. We were only winterizing for about a month so we put the sacrificial rod back in. Another option is to put a bolt in there over the winter so you don’t use the rod.

    Hi- Not sure if you will reply since this is an older video, but we will be going in 2 weeks. Hopefully it does not snow. How is this itinerary for one full day: Walk to Mather Point from Visitor center. Shuttle to Yavapai point Shuttle to Yaki point Shuttle back to Yavapai point Walk train of time to Verkamp (can we get food here?) Shuttle to Hopi point Shuttle back to Mather point and walk to visitor center Drive to Desert view. Go to hotel for night

    • @HintonTheTrail
      @HintonTheTrail 28 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hello, sounds like an awesome day. This is all doable but you’ll need to start as soon as the shuttles start running and manage your time. Yes, there is (or at least used to be) dining near Verkamp Visitor Center. Even if you don’t make all these stops any of them are going to give you amazing views. Worst case…you saw the Grand Canyon!!! It’s a very humbling and beautiful place, enjoy yourselves. Also, find a place to watch the sunset if you can.

    This is a very good "end user" perspective review. Congratulations. Letting benefits (what it does for YOU) drive the train instead of features (technical stuff) while being able to discuss features when appropriate is the right strategy for most gear reviews. But it is actually fairly rare when it comes to radios, power equipment, digital technology, etc. Very smart!

    • @HintonTheTrail

      Yes. If you’re winterizing with antifreeze you want it in the lines. The other option is to blow everything out with a compressor at a lower psi.

    How long generaly would this generator with xp power my home refrigerator? Keeping door closed a lot during power outage.

    • @HintonTheTrail
      @HintonTheTrail 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It depends on the power needs of the fridge. See our other response to your previous question.

  • @ChefMarkBruning
    @ChefMarkBruning 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Look like I may be late to the party, Not good with electrical calculations. My biggest concern is how long generally would this generator with XP power my refrigerator. Depends, yes.. keeping refer door closed as much as possible during power outage. Ok with alternating other appliances micro, computers, coffee. At night would only use one led light cpap and fridge.

    • @HintonTheTrail
      @HintonTheTrail 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It all depends on the power consumption of each appliance. We have a lot of outages here in Maine and use this as our indoor backup. We’ve run a large Samsung fridge/freezer for over 14-hrs while also running a lamp. It still had power left after that time but we got power back and didn’t need it anymore. Obviously if you’re running multiple appliances, charging phones, etc, it’ll run out faster.

    So with the gap between these and the suspension, you’re still going to get that first bit of squat regardless. I have a 2021 GMC 2500 and with my fifth wheel, I squat 2.75”. It looks like you’ll get an inch or so of travel to take up before these engage, so I’ll probably be more like of 1.5”-2” of squat with these installed… sound about right? My pin weight is almost 3500 pounds, so right on the edge of payload for this truck….

    • @HintonTheTrail
      @HintonTheTrail 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, it’ll drop down under weight until the timbrens come in contact with the leaf springs. There will still be some compression after that. Our 3500 dropped down until that gap was filled but it road level while towing a 15K fifth wheel.

That's right, the United States government in 1848 practically stole it from us with the Guadalupe Hidalgo treaty, as well as California, Arizona, Utah, New Mexico and Texas that were also from Mexico, and now, in the Grand Canyon they have created a very rich artificial business marketing for tourism, fortunately in Mexico we have canyons and ravines, many of them at very low cost and some of them free I mention some: Copper Canyon in Pewis Canyon and Santa Elena Canyon, on the other hand, in the state of Hidalgo, Tolantongo Canyon and Piedra Volada Canyon in Guadalajara Jalisco, Huentitan Canyon in Veracruz, Tatatila Canyon, Barranca Tlaltetela, in Xalapa Veracruz where I live, just 4km away, is the imposing viewpoint Point La Barranca La Ventana a La Concha, totally free!!!!!, with a vertical drop of 500 meters, and the solid terrain below descends to the Gulf of Mexico, on the other hand, in Oaxaca the Apoala canyon and in Tuxtla Gutierrez Chiapas, the Sumidero canyon, greetings!!!! I mean it’s still is way too much ranging from $80 to $190 for rv camp I can pay that much money to stay in classy hotel . We just paid 150k for our rv and just find out some prices about campsites and some are astonishing shocking how expensive it is

      This was filmed a few years ago and prices definitely aren’t getting better anywhere. City parks, state parks, Harvest Hosts, Boondockers Welcome and straight up boondocking will save you $$.

    Running a dehumidifier helps to take the load off the air conditioner by helping to remove the humidity.

      Sounds like a fun visit. Ha ha. I don’t know if he’s really in there…or if he’s in Texas. There are so many stories.

      They worked great for keeping things level with a 15,000lb 5th wheel. Never had any issues and so much more affordable than airbags. Spokane is my hometown but we’re now settled in Maine.

    I had a pair on an S-10 and currently on my 2018 Frontier. The were both easier to put on than yours was, and they both worked great when towing my RVs👍

    What is “the right setup” with batteries and solar panels? I have a 200w panel with one deep cycle battery and a 2000w inverter. What else do I need to have AC while boondocking.

    • @HintonTheTrail
      @HintonTheTrail 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      We don’t have experience with solar but fellow RVers like @roadventures and a few others had solar and SoftStartRVs on board. It would be important to know on what your needs are, how much power do you normally draw without using a/c, and how much when you are, and then start looking at what the right setup is for your needs. The SoftStartRV isn’t going to change the amount required to run it, just lower the amount to start it and every time the compressor kicks on.

    We’re boondockers who are planning a snowbird trip. I don’t want to boon dock the entire time, and would like to stay at a few campgrounds and meet people. Thanks for the information.
