I’ve used baking soda and powdered sugar.. mix and sprinkle dry… They are both approximately the same size and eat it and die… I’ve had to sprinkle along my steps and in front of my door to keep them from coming in.. It’s so much cheaper than cinnamon if a large amount is needed… Thank you for your video… Blessed be
I use a heavier sugar ratio, 7 or 8 to 1. Also I like to dissolve the mixture fully in water so its just a liquid and put it in a low flatish container. Some people like to soak cotton balls in the mixture and leave them on the ant trails/mounds.
Hi! Curious to know, a year later, what’s your go-to for ants? I know you said the ground cinnamon had worked for you, but wondering if you decided another method ended up working better. ☺️
I think you want a 1:3 ratio borax to sugar. They want the sweetness of the sugar. They can smell the borax if it’s too strong. Also you can add a little honey
Make a paste with Borax and sugar using a 1:5 ratio in water. Put in a container with a lid with holes. The ants will eat it and carry back home to their Queen.
I’ve used DE on a pretty aggressive and large ant pile, and it worked pretty well. Like you said, it does take up to a week to work, but what helped me was actually mixing it into the ant pile instead of just sprinkling on top (also helps it from blowing away). Make sure your soil is pretty dry too as the DE isn’t really effective once it gets wet. I was pretty liberal with it too. Good luck!
Cool video. I had heard of the Borax & sugar & the cinnamon one too so I tried the cinnamon & it killed a lot of them. (It was Huge) now I’m out of that so I gave em a dose of Old Bay. We’ll see I guess 🤷♀️
I have been pretty successful with dried red pepper flakes. I sprinkle the red pepper around the parameter of the bed. Thank you for your tips, I can’t wait to experiment as well
The borax & sugar wasn't suppose to be wetted down. It works dry. However, I'm here because my huge garden pots are infested with ants & i don't want to use a ton of sugar & borax.
Ima try cinnamon THANK YOU🙏👏👏👏 Permethrin i think thats the name Works but it’s expensive, and i have to spray every few days so im trying to find a cheaper method lollll

Thank you. I’ll try that! I still have a ton of borax left!
The main thing about sourcing food grade is their is a kind thats used in pool filters that type of de will not be effective to kill pests.
Have you tried ground black pepper? I've had mixed results.
We tried water and vinegar last year ... That worked well
Awesome! I will check this out. Thank you!

Am going to try a suggestion I heard yesterday, Coffee grounds. My husband drinks coffee every morning and I have a good number of grounds.
Yes I’ve heard that too. Let me know how it goes!

Food Grade DE worked for me too.....It DID take awhile...like 3 plus weeks...but they are ALL gone. Cinnamon didn't faze our ants:(
Hmm interesting. I guess I need to give it more time!
Cinnamon does nothing in my experience lol
I'm here because that DE didn't work at all.
coffee ?
