Just to clarify, you're saying to not use the green cone that comes with the Solas, the stock is better? Wondering why and also if I should fill my bearing and the black cone fully with xps grease? One note- the "65" spec on the 10mm bolt for the steering should be noted as in-lbs rather than ft lbs. • @SaltyDogPerformance

    • @SaltyDogPerformance
      @SaltyDogPerformance  ปีที่แล้ว

      You have to drill all the way through for the set screws to bite into it. If you don’t, the screw will push out on the wear ring and you have a bump that won’t allow the impeller to be reinstalled. Service manual tells you to drill the holes. Even when you get a ski new from the factory the holes are drilled all the way through the wear ring.

      I only use OEM parts for things like that. Also, just because you don’t see water in the pump cone, doesn’t mean that water isn’t getting past the first seals. I just did a jet pump rebuild for a guy and the shaft was extremely rusty and water had gotten past the first two seals. A little longer and it would have gotten past the 3rd seal and gotten into the bearing.
