- A coal miner, covered in coal dust, took his son to his first University of Kentucky Wildcats basketball game. Twenty-nine-year-old Michael McGuire works 10 hours a day, six days a week. He did not have enough time to take a shower and still get to the game to meet his wife and 3-year-old son, Easton. Wildcats coach, John Calipari, was so struck by the photo that he posted it online, where it went viral. Coach Calipari told the McGuire family he wants them to be his VIP guests at an upcoming home game.
Someone give this man a father of the year award 🥇
They give it to elliot page
Somebody give him free healthcare. That black stuff on his face is in his lungs too.
if that man was Black or Mexican, pretty sure people would be like, "man should have taken a bath" what a get-o..
Good idea ❤😅
W dad
He is a real man. He loves his son so much. Keep being a great man and may all the blessing go your way ❤
his son doesn't understand basketball
@@MickeyMouse-lm6zj the game made the kid smile that's what matters, btw that is a hard 29, my god. Keep going bro

My dad is a mechanic. Owns his own shop. Works 60 hrs a week too 6 days a week. But he always made a point every year to come to my dance recital. Every year he'd go straight from the shop to the concert hall. People gave him funny looks I bet in a greasy mechanic uniform but he made it. Anytime a hard working man makes time for thier kids is an amazing father. That kid is going to cherish this memory for the rest of his life. I guarantee it

God has blessed you with a real father, for most of us Father Jesus will have to do !
Take two minutes to take overalls off. There’s a lot of shopping Mall mechanics walking about.

@MoomooPro It’s his son I feel sorry for, imagine having a Father who’s a complete narcissist, and doesn’t know how to wash his face, poor kid.🥲
Guys works a dangerous job to provide not only money for his family, but also provides time and effort for his kid. Real father, right there.
What i love is “oh he’s so great,he’ll suffer for his family” not realizing that the company should do better for this man,the coal mine company should be more understanding that people like him need to spend more time with there family and be paid better to spend more time with that family so that he doesn’t have to attend games like that and still be appreciated by not just society but his family on his time.
Exactly THIS, thank you!
Yes, society now days seems to overlook the core of the problems in this country.
I don’t think coal mining companies have all the bells and whistles that Twitter and Meta along with 4 hour shifts in between yoga and wine on the rooftop.
Some miners get close to 6 figures…how much better paid should they get? Sometimes the job is the job, it’s grueling but it is what it is. Great to see a nice dad get recognize for it. 👍

This young man better be proud of his dad. Wish the dad lots of love and warmth.
My dad was a drunk. He missed my bad concert in middle school to hit the bar.
I married a hard working amazing man much like the dad in this video.
Hope to all those who didn’t have this kind of dad.
No one cares jit
I'm sorry that this father has to work 60 hours a week to support his family. A shame the corporation he works for doesn't pay him more, or hires more help in the mines.
This father deserves to have more time with his family.
You do realize most people won't or can't handle this kind of work. He probably won't get to enjoy his family later in life cause of black lung.
Fun Fact: everyone in india work for 10 hours a day, 6 day a week. Many companies even force the workers to work 12-13 hours a day.
He gets paid good good money. In these mining areas like where I grew up, being a miner, financially is one of the top paid job you could have. But the work is hard, the hours long and the rest of America could care less about us. They need respect, to go with that family time.
Or maybe his old lady is a pain in the ass and he just wants to get out of the house, stop making everything a sob story.
@@mrao514 sorry you live in an undeveloped country, but thats just not ethical, you arent proving anything
That’s nice of them and what a great dad
and yet not one single wet wipe for him to wipe his face off. hmm. Oh wait, i guess the mens rooms sinks were all out of order so he couldnt wash his face off.

As s truck driver I feel for this guy. I'm out 2-3 weeks at a time away from my wife and 2 kids. Working 10-11 hours a day driving all over the US making deliveries. Hope he sees how appriciated he is.
Love this.
I'm from an island at the bottom of the Pacific.
Respect to this man, respect to this school and respect to the people of Kentucky.
*A father’s love is just as great as a mother’s love. This is truly a beautiful and unique story*

His son will grow up to be a respectable man just like his dad. In this day and age, this is exactly what we need to see. We need to be good role models for our children
Some ultra-left woke people will find a way to consider this part of toxic masculinity somehow.

Sending love all the way from 🇰🇪 to that great man whom is a good example of a father.🙏 God bless you sir n Ur family.
a real man!! a real father right there!! mad respect!!
my dad is an engineering mechanic and during primary school he would always travel from his field work to my school to eat lunch with me and my siblings every single day, he would always arrive in his overalls covered in grease and dirt, though his time was tight he always make sure to be there and spend his break with us, even if I could have another chance to choose a dad, I would still choose my father every single time I get to live again, it was a wonderful memory that I always look back into, I love you dad!!❤ salute to you and all the laborers sir!🙌❤
My dad was a maintenance mechanic and did the same thing but for recess. That was really the only time I got to see him in elementary school because he worked 7 days a week.
This is awesome! We appreciate this hardworking Dad!!

This is so heartwarming. So busy and still able to spend time with his family.
That's the best dad ever right there and I can tell you cuz mine was the same. My dad worked in a copper mine, this is what he looked like half my childhood. This is awesome to see! Makes me miss mine. ♥

He did that intentionally for this very reason - for show. That way people would say what you're saying

My dad ran his own underline construction business and I remember him showing up to my softball games covered in dirt lol I was just happy he was there

My family owned a ceramic and a roofing business. It was always said not to be embarrassed by working, and often went out shopping or whatever covered in mud or tar. But we did always wash our faces.
Sometimes I feel more comfortable in public while wearing my work clothes
Yup it's more embarrassing being unemployed and lazy looking for handouts
Now, that a dad everyone wants! aint afraid to go anywhere, regardless of what other's might think 💪
Yea until he gets lung cancer not changing his clothes
What a great father!! Touches my heart to see this.

I worked in the coal mines for a number of years in the UK. Most honest, genuine, helpful people I've ever been around.

This. All you see is people giving kudos like always. Also look how much soot on his face. You’re telling me there isn’t even a bathroom where he could have gone into to at least wash his face off 😂. Just like these teens looking for clout on TikTok
