  • Let's take a 100% wool hat I found at a thrift store for $1 and give it a makeover. I took inspiration from Alexa.Lynne on Instagram to breathe new life into this floppy hat. It's surprising how easy this way, and it only about 3 hours!

I’ll be posting regularly about my different projects and you don’t need to do anything to see that feed.
And yes, you can donate, and for $2/month, you’ll get behind-the-scenes peeks at my upcoming projects, have a voice in what I should try next, and get your name on screen!
But most exciting, you can get your very own digital pattern of my Box Bag Pattern
I’m so excited to share these with you as I’m so proud of this pattern.

That’s so great, and much better than baseball hats! I love hats and have a few, but live in a very windy area so don’t wear them as often as I like. Thank you Katie for your inspiring content. Greetings from New Zealand.

I love my baseball hats but they are not stylish at all. I suppose if I'm going to try to up my aesthetic, I should include my headwear in that!

I like it. It's my style, but I just know someone is going to love it. What I love is that snowy scene at the beginning of the video. Beautiful! We don't get that here. We get a few flakes every few to many years.❄️

The snow was a big surprise and I HAD to use it before it melted.

This is great! Totally get wanting to do a craft purely based on the textile alone. I wonder if you could incorporate some of those leather scales if you decide to make another one in the future??

OOOOHH that's such a great idea! Going to do this ASAP.

Love the idea to pimp a hat, I wear them all the time (have 18 of them) but some just look cheap.
I did a hatmaking intership for 6 months (20 years ago) and was looking at molds to start hatmaking again, but really I don't have time for another hobby.
Replacing the inner band will hurt your fingers with regular band, leather will be rough. Good luck

That’s a sweat band inside. You don’t want leather

Leather is the traditional/historic choice for sweatbands in caps. They tend to hold up better to the moisture and oils than synthetic materials.
