Hahahahahaha a tuned 5.9 will destroy a tuned 6.4. V8 diesels cant compare with inline. Why do you think semis ditched v8's back in the mid 70s? Because they suck

@@larryparks4668 I was kind of thinking that about you. Funny because I've had powerstrokes, duramax, and cummins. I've grown up on a farm and worked on others. The 5.9 with a stick shift was by far the best tow rig and it's not even close. The 6.4 and the 6.0 is junk. Sure you can get some power out of them by throwing a tuner on them. But nothing like the 5.9. The 5.9 destroys both. But again it's an inline motor and they arent restricted by length of stroke like a v8 which is why semis ditched them in the mid 70s. Literally physics proves you wrong my friend. But dream on.

This right here is why I'm swapping a 12v p pump Cummins into my 08 F250 crew cab long bed. The 6.4 ran like a scalded dog before she blew up but they're just a huge pain in the ass to work on. Eight to ten grand for a running ( how well, you never know with these things, they're 150k throw away engines anyway ) junkyard engine? No...nope, not gonna happen. If however you're gonna go to the trouble of replacing the head gaskets on one of these engines, spend the extra money and stud the damn thing. O ring the heads too if you can afford it. It'll last waaaaay longer if you do those two things.

I'll just go ahead and be that guy: do a 12 or 24v swap. It will be more expensive, but well worth it. I've owned a Durmax, a 6.7 Power Stroke and 3 Cummins trucks. Its been my experience that Cummins is the superior diesel motor. I'll never buy another Duramax. I would consider a deleted 6.7 Powerstroke, as I deleted mine and it was a great truck. I will take a pre-emissions Cummins any day of the week. I've towed heavy with all of them, and a Cummins with a manual trans was the best of them all. Great video for Ford owners.
