This video is great. Just would like to see you do someone whose nails don't come back in perfect shape. Also, the majority of my customers have gel polish over the acrylic so you're taking time to have to drill all of it off before you do a fill so that takes more time than what you're doing here in this video. They usually want length taken down , not just shaped up which takes more time also. You airbrushed which looks beautiful but putting on 2 coats of gel polish and top coat seems like it would take longer. Please make a video doing all the above in 30 min ...I would love to see how that's possible and I've been doing nails for 25 years !!! Love all the tips on doing fills thanks guys 😊
For sure, this video was less about design and really just focusing on cutting time. This customer did have a gel top that was why she had to file through the whole nail bed during prep so that would have been similar timing, granted there was not much reshaping necessary. Adding a gel polish design rather than airbrush would have been relatively similar timing given gel polish requires 30 sec cure so about 2 min from first coat to finished cure tops. We do plan to continue these videos so we will work on incorporating different designs. Thank you for your feedback.
Totally agree. As a nail tech, most nails don’t come back looking like this. I find myself not only having to take off layers of gel colour, but when there is lifting that’s occurred especially for clients who waited too long for a fill, you have to clip that away . I feel like my prep is always where I spend the most time . And then afterwards with filing even though I lay on quite smooth. I hand file. Going to try to continue to feel comfortable using the e file more often . But I feel like fills in 30 mins is almost never possible . In the real world lol.
YoungNailsInc honestly I find this video misleading, the nails were perfect to begin with, not a single one was broken, she didn’t take down any length, no design was actually made... yes, she had top coat but I highly doubt that you’d say “don’t worry about removing all the shine” when you have color that is going to be stuck underneath the refill, you absolutely have to remove all of that and that takes time. This video is super misleading and it feels so rushed just to fulfill the purpose of the video, usually the clients don’t sit like this during the appointment, this lady knew about the time frame for the video so this is really not in “real time”
I Love you Tracy! Anyone who's skeptical about learning to do a fill, with a gel polish in 30 minutes, because clients do a lot of things that add to your time.... just know that Tracy is one of the best and quickest nail techs in the world----that's why she's the GM of YN's Inc. It will be in your best interest to learn what you can from her; get fast and really good at doing a beautiful fill; then work on what clients do to increase your time. I was a mediocre nail tech for years then started emulating Tracy and its been a total game changer. If I could do a fill in less that 30 minutes then I might have the right to criticize.....but since I do not, I'm going to just learn as much as I can from the YN's crew.
Omg! Goals! I have 7 years doing nails and i take 2hours for a full set and 1:30-2 hours for a fill 😅 I’m trying to work on my time! But I am a perfectionist so it makes it hard 😆 I love this new series already! Thank you for all the great content! 💯💯
Guadalupe, practice shorting your time in steps one week practice and time your self in removing polish, red, black, deep colors. Another week, practice fill removal and application blocks, another week practice how long it takes to apply and buff. Keep your timer and you will be fast as near lighting.😁
Agreed ! I’m in it 6 years and my timing is the same. But almost all my clients are into colour and artwork. And I am a perfectionist and almost always hand file.
Like Tracey said 99% is knowing what you are doing, what the vision will be for your service. Fills I book out for 35m no repairs, and my online booking must schedule in number of repairs. Or I will charge double for each unscheduled repair. It works. They never lie or break a nail. Nice job with the series " How much and Real-time."
I want to personally thank all of you from the bottom of my heart for this video!!!! I watched it and did a full set at work the next day and did a full set with encapsulation, designs and all faster than I ever have before! And did a full in and moved faster as well! Definitely will be implementing these tips to make it to 30 minutes as well! I love you all!
YES! Thank you so much for sharing! This is exactly what we are doing this for, to improve your speed in salon helping you create quality nails in a timely manor to make more $$
Thank you for this video!!! It’s crazy but my fills take longer then my full sets. 🤦🏽♀️ I do a lot of sets with acrylic color instead of gel polish so when they want a new color I have to file all that acrylic color down witch takes FOREVER! And then sometimes they come in with lifting so I have to figure out how to remove it. Also have to shorten down the nail. And most of my clients want a whole new design. 🤦🏽♀️ Can you make videos on these things please. 🙏🏽🙏🏽
Yep more videos to come for sure, be sure if you are removing almost all your product just to replace you are charging accordingly that wouldn't be considered just a fill at that point.
They have a video that shows how to quickly fix a lifted nail. I think it's in the nail school section. Do you use a hand file or an e-file? E-file saves a lot of time.
Love this video ! All my clients are on a 3 week fill so they all need to shorten a little bit. Would love to see a fill where you shorten the almond! I feel thats where I loose time is the shortening and refining the shape.
I loved this too. I have the same issue. I would like to know WHEN you would shorten. I start with it. Would you? Or do you do it when you start filing after the fill...and before or after the efile...?😁...see we do need another video😂😂😂
lol def more videos to come! I would likely remove the bulk of shortening or shape change initially with the e-file then refine with the hand file at the end.
I hope this becomes a series! I waste time on prep work (especially around cuticles). Taking product down from lifting. Not knowing how to talk and work at the same time. And fussing over every small thing & trying to perfect everything because it kills me inside when my clients get lifting, so i over compensate! It comes down to confidence because you are always so focused on time.
BAM 💥 show em how it gets done Tracy‼️ Awesome set 🥰. Please keep the videos coming I learn so much from all y’all 😘. I’m not a professional and unfortunately never will have the opportunity from being fully disabled but it’s my hobby. I do it also to try to keep what ever muscles I have left in my hands from carpal tunnel. It’s totally scary to lose the abilities to walk, sign your name and be in constant pain throughout the rest of your life. But at least I’m still breathing Whoo hoo!!!!! 😃. Love y’all 🤗💕❤️
I really really like that you guys have been doing these great videos with tips & tricks. I've been doing nails for 32yrs and I love this industry and your products. Thanks
Fabulous!! Love the inspiration for cutting my time, regardless what services I'm doing, we spend way too much time chatting and perfecting before a fill and what a waste of time that is! Thank you Tracy, I love seeing real time - this is really helpful!!
Right, more videos to come! Really a lot of the focus of this video was to show people how much time can be saved if you did purchase the airbrush machine....cause we all know time is money right!? So buy the machine, save the time = MORE MONEY!! haha
I'm still on a 2,5 3 hour set LOL just started my obsession though but I'm dedicated. oh, and how i found out about you is because I bought a lot of different acryl on a second-hand marketspace to find out what works for me. and the best acryl i find was YN so than i typed YN on all my social media. LOVE what you're doing and i definitely take an example of everything you guys and girl do. Thanks
I've started doing the same timing with my clients during ombre fillins but I used the acrylic application only. You did a wonderful job and I appreciate your timing and work. I'd wear those any day🤗
Omg thank you for your advice on this Tracy. After watching this i did a refill and gel polish on a client, who had acrylics on with gel polish, in 50mins !
My daughter and I love watching your videos we have order your products already amd there amazing.. my daughter is 15 and she wants to do this for work which I'm ok because I grew up in my mom's salon and learn a lot about hair and nails. So I'm getting things for her to get started!😁
I love this new series. 😍😍😍😍😍 I want to see more. Most clients come in with the gel polish and 3d art that takes up time removing. Please so an episode with that. Thank you.
Loved the real time!! It was so helpful, I waist so much time in the prep and filing! I would assume to add about 15 more minutes if they had gems and 3D art that needed to be removed, 30 Mins is still better then an hour on a plain gel manicure. One thing I do to get ready for my clients is ask beforehand thru texting or calling, when & IF they notify me they are on their way is WHAT are we doing today, so I am more prepared before they walk thru the door.
the video was really good. it is amazing to see how one can do the job without all the negativity and just do it. I would like to see more if you have them on doing nails as a beginner.
In this video, we are using our airbrush. Unfortunately, it is no longer available. We can't make recommendations on other brands as we do not test them.
How long for an infill with imbedded glitter etc?? My regular fills with gel polish take 30min. I too rely on the use of my electric file for most of the “heavy lifting” in prep and finishing the nails.
I can't stop watching your videos........i am really considering in going to a cosmetology class to get my license. The only thing I do is polish nails for my self, friends & family.
Wouuuuuuu this in 30 mnts o love it I definitely need to buy the air brush. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰it is fenomenal like he said. It this was a fill now how to a a Ombré in hour or less then in hour
Great video, would love to see a video on hand /wrist stretches, how to prevent from getting sore while working and preventing cramps in the hand please
Love love love this video idea! Sooo much easier to watch you do the work and us see what we’re doing wrong and can correct! I’m taking way to much time up with prep. Now only if we can find a way to keep clients off there phones while I’m trying to work i can be even quicker lol
I'm not a nail tech I just love watching your videos. I wanted to give you a high five about your comment of not being on your phone while working on a client. That is one of my pet peeves and will be the reason that I never go back to a tech if they use their phones while doing my service. I put my phone on silent whenever I get any service. Courtesy is so important!
This video was less about the design and really just focusing on cutting time. However if you do not own an airbrush I would consider it specifically for saving time!! Sick designs so fast. That being said even applying a gel polish color would have still be finished in about the same time. maybe an additional minute or so.
Get one!! The investment is well worth what you can do with it. Save $20/wk for the next couple months and you're there. Plus, you'll make that money back both in charging your client and in time saved!!! Also, it's just so freakin much fun!!! :)
The video was great! You said to not file the product down too much but what happens if your using colored acrylic? Do you leave the Color below the new Color?
Great tips .. I really need to say that there aren't many techs out there that do sets like you've shown here.. Not many use a spray gun either so do it with pink white l/p or gel.... I think this is put more pressure on very good techs that already feel their times nit fast enough ... Just about making sure the nail is balanced,.. Most clients are 3weeks so depending on regrowth of natural nail would depend on balance.. ...I think it's great you can do this.. But for me it wasn't about the money it was about giving my client that pamper time she/he need . I don't think hour is long time for infill for full acrylic rebalance. Removal of old design, new design... I hope it doesn't stress to many ppl out about their timing ...beautiful set tracey..🙏🏻💗...
Thank you, and honestly the point isn't to encourage people to immediately drop their timing to 30 min or less, more so just trying to demonstrate areas you could possibly be cutting time. Working efficiently while creating quality nails for your clients. Absolutely understand that some clients enjoy a longer appt time to relax but just the same there are clients who would prefer a speedy in & out full service. Just trying to create valuable content for everyone! More videos coming soon with more real life salon issues.
Thank you so much for reply , I do understand what your saying ..I've spoken to many tech about timing that they feel really stressed about this... Clients expecting these times.. It's just so hard at time to explain to clients that we're all different.. I do love what your doing in these videos.. Have great weekend guys 💖🤗✨
Today i paid 45 for full set very short nails. My nails look squared deformed and manly. He said it was for my own good to get them short so i dont hurt myself. I have been getting my nails done for 20 yrs, never had i had an issue. When i did tell him if he could make them shorter like more natural look, he said "dont worry i got u". Did what he wanted. Then they ran out the nail polish i picked and then proceded to do 5 coats of gel of the new color. 😫😫. Still searching for the right person. I guess you get what u pay.
Maria Leon Hi Maria, if you are in nyc definitely check out my page @klacquer. I do have a nail shop with affordable prices. Would love to have you as a potential customer! Sorry for your previous experience
Most of my clients come in for a refill in about 3-4 weeks. It takes me almost an hour and half. Sometimes it takes less, but most of the times their cuticle area needs a lot of work, they want to shorten and/or reshape the nails, take off previous gel polish application and have new detailed nailart. Do you think a refill like this is possible to be done in 30 minutes? Thank you for the great tips on cutting time though. I find them really helpful
More videos to come that will incorporate more in depth services, however the previous set was nude so there was a clear gel that was removed from the surface during the prep steps. If there was color that would have been removed so the timing really wouldn't be all that different. More videos to come!
Thanks for the video. I would really love to know how you feel about doing a fill on a set of nail that a other nail tech has done for a complete different nail salon? I think that I might not be the only one wondering about that would love if you could give feedback about something like that..
Typically we recommend not working over another techs work because you can't always guarantee the products will bond as well as you never know how well that techs work is attached. I would recommend a removal and full set.
@@youngnailsinc thank you so much for the respond.. I feel the same way about it.. love all your videos they are so inspiring. hope you all have a great day..
Hi, thank you for the new ideas. Pls put something dark on the table or zoom in for us to watch especially for older nail techs who struggle to see white on white
Oh my goodness, I was wasting time! I did a fill yesterday in 30 minutes! It gave me more time to do some nail art, which is not my jam. I am working on it though......... Thanks for the tips.
The important thing to remember here is when I realized that if I do proper prep, took care of the natural nail by not over filing it and did proper product placement that when my clients returned for fills, their nails are always in great shape, very rarely do they break nails. That’s where you save time! It is frustrating the amount of extra time taking off gel polish takes now that it’s so popular but I’ve adapted pretty well. I sincerely hope all gel polish moves to a product like Go Time which really shaves off time!
Thank you so much for pointing out these facts! This is absolutely correct, this scenario was a return client that if you had applied properly during the full set application there really shouldn't be a lot of lift or problems with the return set. Great points made thank you for watching and for your feed back.
You can't always see the small lumps and bumps, but you can feel them with your fingers. Just a tip. I used to take hours to file and look, and yet there was bumps that I missed :)
That would for sure require a little more attention, in this video we were really trying to focus on speed and not repeating unnecessary steps that may be slowing you down. Also important to note this set was on a return customer so this would be in salon reality since when working over our own work there really shouldn't be much lift to tend to assuming our first full set was prepped and applied correctly.
Thank you for showing this! And for always posting such relevant content. I appreciate it so much! So I have a question about really late fills. I’ve only been a nail tech for just over a year. In school they stressed proper nail prep to reduce lifting and I found that I tend to obsess over prep and cuticle work. My clients almost never get lifting but because they don’t get lifting, I don’t see a lot of them for 5-6 weeks on the regular...which sucks for me. I’m slowly getting faster but at 5 or 6 weeks, the fill is more like a full set with lots of extra work. Cutting back length, reshaping, filing out lifting, etc. What is a good way to save on time in that situation? I charge for a full set but with the added work of fixing the existing nail, I’m not quite sure what to do as far as charging extra and shaving off more time. It takes me just over 90 min on these situations. Suggestions? Again, thank you so much!
In scenarios like this it would be considered a "re-balance" because that's exactly what it would be you are completely changing the structure of the nail to pull the product back to where it should be. Sometimes clients will stretch out appointments to try to cut costs on filling so often when in reality just creates more work for us. The same tips shown in this video would be great for cutting time, speed comes with repetition so I'm sure eventually you will be where you'd like to be time wise. Most important thing is you are charging accordingly for all this added work. We plan to do more real time videos incorporating all kinds of real life salon scenarios.
What do you guys think about applying cuticle remover and using nippers? We are made to use both whenever performing manicures and pedicures at school.. I think it’s a little pointless unless someone needs extreme cuticle care like on bitten nails etc. At the school I go to they’re constantly flip flopping on what we should and shouldn’t do, I describe myself to be in the intermediate stages of learning but to a new tech that can be so confusing and discouraging.
Since you are in school, they most likely are just trying to teach you the techniques with your tools & products. If you are doing traditional manicures & pedicures (not gel polish), you can use them if needed. However, you can also do a manicure service using your efile to clean up the cuticle area. It's a personal preference as to which works best for you and what services you want to provide.
I just got acrylics with ombre and later on I am going to need a fill in if I want to change the colors of the ombre can they or do they need to replace the whole nail
Also I'm so glad your making. These videos! Cause it takes me about an hour and a half for both a full set and a fill. Would love to but both down to an hour and especially the fill downto Less!!!
This video is great. Just would like to see you do someone whose nails don't come back in perfect shape. We do plan to continue these videos so we will work on incorporating different designs. Thank you for your feedback.
Totally agree with this ladies comment.
I never get nails back in two weeks without color art etc
Christina V yea I been watching their videos all day. Some of them are not realistic.
Totally agree. As a nail tech, most nails don’t come back looking like this. I find myself not only having to take off layers of gel colour, but when there is lifting that’s occurred especially for clients who waited too long for a fill, you have to clip that away .

I love this new series. 😍😍😍😍😍 I want to see more. Most clients come in with the gel polish and 3d art that takes up time removing. Please so an episode with that. Thank you.
more videos to come for sure!
I love all your series, I'm getting my license next month and already these videos have helped me be more efficient, excited to see what is to come!
so great to hear! congrats on your license
For sure that's a great way to cut down on time!
In absolute love with tho series already ! Thank you
happy you enjoyed it
the video was really good. it is amazing to see how one can do the job without all the negativity and just do it. I would like to see more if you have them on doing nails as a beginner.
For sure, this is our real time series there are several videos here with tons of info
Phenomenal! Beautiful and flawless…
Curious about the airbrush application and tool. Is there a certain one you recommend?
In this video, we are using our airbrush. Unfortunately, it is no longer available.
We can't make recommendations on other brands as we do not test them.
Tracey!!! Ure just amazing and so pro . Thanks for the tricks 😘
❤️❤️
BEAUTIFUL WORK!!! Well done, and fast! ❤️🇨🇦
❤️❤️
She’s amazing and the nails are beautiful
Agreed
How long for an infill with imbedded glitter etc??
My regular fills with gel polish take 30min. I too rely on the use of my electric file for most of the “heavy lifting” in prep and finishing the nails.
more videos to come with those scenarios
I can't stop watching your videos........i am really considering in going to a cosmetology class to get my license. The only thing I do is polish nails for my self, friends & family.
it is a great industry to be in!
Good idea! Definitely an important topic.
@@youngnailsinc awesome thank you!
Love love love this video idea! Sooo much easier to watch you do the work and us see what we’re doing wrong and can correct! I’m taking way to much time up with prep. Now only if we can find a way to keep clients off there phones while I’m trying to work i can be even quicker lol
Exactly what we are doing it for! Need a little phone jail or something lol!
Nice! Thank you for the support!
Awesome guys! Love this idea, super helpful!
happy you enjoyed it
Those are soooo prettyyyy 💕.
Omg I wasn't aware we didnt need to remove EVERY bit of finish gel...! 💗
That's what these vids are hopefully going to help with.... cut time as much as we can
Beautiful as always!! But what if you don't have an airbrush??
This video was less about the design and really just focusing on cutting time. However if you do not own an airbrush I would consider it specifically for saving time!! Sick designs so fast. That being said even applying a gel polish color would have still be finished in about the same time. maybe an additional minute or so.
Get one!! The investment is well worth what you can do with it. Save $20/wk for the next couple months and you're there. Plus, you'll make that money back both in charging your client and in time saved!!! Also, it's just so freakin much fun!!! :)
Your good Tracey fast work awesome 😉
The video was great! You said to not file the product down too much but what happens if your using colored acrylic? Do you leave the Color below the new Color?
Wow look nice.liquid look easy to control too.
thank you
Such a great video! My fill time is the top service I want to speed up. Mo’ money, mo’ money!
yessss!
Now I see what you mean Tracy, you do shake alot, lol. Thanks for this video, very helpful. Keep them coming PLEASE 🙏🏻
$70 in 26 minutes....... I have to UuuupppPPPP my prices!!! I am at that level of skill and I charge $35.00
gotta charge your worth !
The 35 is just for a basic FILL, i always add to the top of that, i do not give things away for free otherwise your losing money 💰
I wouldn't pay $70 for an infill HELL NO!!
Very impressed you go girl 🧡
Most of my clients come in for a refill in about 3-4 weeks. It takes me almost an hour and half. Sometimes it takes less, but most of the times their cuticle area needs a lot of work, they want to shorten and/or reshape the nails, take off previous gel polish application and have new detailed nailart. Do you think a refill like this is possible to be done in 30 minutes?
Thank you for the great tips on cutting time though. I find them really helpful
omg! i can never be at this level!
Loved it, looking forward for the hard gel videos🤗🤗
totally!
Yay!!! Thank you all for sharing this!
for sure thanks for watching
Amazing as always thank you so very much x
Glad you enjoyed it
Oh man! I need that air brush machine!!!!
lol yes you do
Right?! Me too!
That ombre looks so damm good with the airbrush😍
Thank you we thought so too!
Fantastic!!! Thanks so much for this information
happy you enjoyed it
Very nice . Do you think we can see a real time with gel? I only work with gel and and I would like to improve my working time .
absolutely! this is just the start, more videos coming soon
Yeeyyyyy can't wait. ❤️🦋
Great idea
But you are not taking off colour or Art....
That will take longer to remove
More videos to come that will incorporate more in depth services, however the previous set was nude so there was a clear gel that was removed from the surface during the prep steps. If there was color that would have been removed so the timing really wouldn't be all that different. More videos to come!
@@youngnailsinc I don't think she means gel polish art, I think she means more like encapsulated glitter or colored acrylic art.
more videos to come :)
Loveeeee this simple but effective technique. What type/brand of compressor was used?
All young nails products including the air brush
Thanks for the video. I would really love to know how you feel about doing a fill on a set of nail that a other nail tech has done for a complete different nail salon? I think that I might not be the only one wondering about that would love if you could give feedback about something like that..
Typically we recommend not working over another techs work because you can't always guarantee the products will bond as well as you never know how well that techs work is attached. I would recommend a removal and full set.
@@youngnailsinc thank you so much for the respond.. I feel the same way about it.. love all your videos they are so inspiring. hope you all have a great day..
Great video! What bit do you go in with after you fill the product?
Great videos young 💅
❤️❤️
Hi, thank you for the new ideas. Pls put something dark on the table or zoom in for us to watch especially for older nail techs who struggle to see white on white
We will look into it
Looooooove these videos!!!!!!!
❤️❤️
Love this tutorial....please do more!
for sure!
Beautiful nails.
thank you!
Oh my goodness, I was wasting time! I did a fill yesterday in 30 minutes! It gave me more time to do some nail art, which is not my jam. I am working on it though......... Thanks for the tips.
Awesome!! That's exactly what we are doing it for!
Great job! I have some work to do lol
Nice job glad I've learned how to do my own Nails $70 ain't no way. My nail drill only cost me fifty bucks
Love this!!!!
thank you!
awesome ❤️where did you get the ombre tool? thankx❤️
Wow you're amazing pmg
I wish I can be like u one day
You can't always see the small lumps and bumps, but you can feel them with your fingers. Just a tip. I used to take hours to file and look, and yet there was bumps that I missed :)
Totally can. This set had no bumps to feel, promise.
The paint you used
.... Is that specific for the air brush?
Is air brushing difficult???...
This was a beautiful set😍😍😍😍💕💕💕
Yes, it is an extremely thin water based acrylic paint
I love it
Good education , I love the videos and the products.
Thanks
Wow! I didn't even know it was possible to do a fill in 26 minutes! But what if there is colored gel to remove and more lifting?
YoungNailsInc You guys are awesome! Thank you so much for always doing the good stuff 😁
Omg the dead nails 💀 😅 that’s exactly how I describe them too 😂
I love this
thanks!
Also I'm so glad your making. These videos! Cause it takes me about an hour and a half for both a full set and a fill. Would love to but both down to an hour and especially the fill downto Less!!!
yes! that's what we are doing it for. Try to cut down by about 5 min at a time, that's a realistic goal when trying to cut time.
Will do!!! Maybe I can start timing My self. I keep an eye on the clock but don't try to race the clock.
that's the best way to do it! not necessarily racing as much as just being aware of your timing.
@@youngnailsinc also in the video Tracy said her airbrush was in water. Does she leave the gun sitting in warm water between uses to keep it clean?
yes maam! keeps the paint from drying and clogging the front of the gun.
