  • Switzerland first team into the Quarters, after a comfortable victory of Italy. Switzerland controlled the whole game and Italy lack desire and were pathetic.

Tbh I'm not surprised Switzerland won but I'm surprised how easy it was for them.

That was horrendous from Italy, wtf did i just watch.!!
Italy could have played for 100 years and Swiss players could have been playing with Spaghetti in their mouths and Italy still wouldn't beat them

Cruise control is about right. Switzerland took no yellow, and didn't get a draining extra time, so the quarterfinals look more doable than 3 years ago (captain Xhaka was suspended, players were tired and also we got ref'd by Oliver who handed a bs red) but this time no one is suspended, the players didn't have to use their last reserves (or commit card-level fouls) because the game was so chill, England despite their obvious individual star powers has not showed any collective play to be afraid of so far, so as a swiss I'm not panicking about the idea of a Switzerland-England quarter. (But it would be funny if Slovakia could pull through. You just love to see England go home.)

I had Pasta for Lunch, Pizza for an early dinner and then I watched my national team cook some more Italian cuisine
Ps Switzerland v Austria would be legendary, it would be like a fight between brothers

What are you talking about?!!! "They don't have the names?"
Sommer, Champion in Serie A leading role
Xhaka, Double winner in Germany leading role
Akanij, Champion in Premier leaque leading roe
Äbischer, Freuler, Ndoye play on regular times in a Serie A team
Rodriguez same + Captain of Serie a Team
Okafor played great for Salzburg now not bad for Milan...
    Schär solid in Premier leaque
Young players are wanted like Riederer, from French Leauque to German leaque for example...

Italy has definitely been the most disappointing team of that tournament… England being second!

Yeah, Italy was bad. But the Italian food is superior. One player's name is fagioli. I love fagioli. I prepare them regularily à la toscanesca with salvia and garlic in the oven.

Good foreign players in your team mate. I am not I5alian, but tbh, this was the worst Italian team ever!

    • @st-ex8506
      @st-ex8506 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

@@Happy-wb8giSwitzerland certainly has many players with dual nationalities, which reflects a very diverse country. But all players but 4 were born in Switzerland, and ALL were formed since childhood by Swiss clubs!
It is not the case of several other selections!
So, your comment is inappropriate! Switzerland has ZERO player who is not 100% “Swiss-made” as a player!
Your second comment is however correct, I have never seen such a disappointing Italian team… nor, tbh, such a disappointing English team!

Abbeyshare (Äbischer) and Share (Schär) are their names. :)

    • @alexandergutfeldt1144
      @alexandergutfeldt1144 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The spelling is Aebischer.
The pronunciation is identical to Äbischer. In the Romandie ( French speaking part of Switzerland ) many of the German names with umlauts (ä ö ü ) are spelled by replacing 'ä' with 'ae'( ae oe ue ) and this spelling is in the official documents.

Remember that between 1998 and 2006 Italy could bench Alessandro Del Piero, Filippo Inzaghi and still have world class attack.

Exactly, I have never seen a Swiss team who changed the game that much, always considering the strengths and weaknesses of your opponent. That‘s the trainers job, but this football team is able to implement Murat Yakins advice perfectly. I am impressed, let’s win against England. 🇨🇭🇨🇭🇨🇭

Well said Michael. We looked horrendous. Spalletti needs to focus more on creating their best 11s, tactics, etc, and less focused on banning PlayStations 😂

Italy were being shoved around like a joke, by the end of the first half it was clear that the Swiss were dominating but I still expected Italy to equalize even if it would be late in the match. And then, the second goal came and that was when I went uhh OK, probably gonna be a bit of an uphill battle for the blues.
The way they’re playing the Swiss cannot be underestimated by (most likely) England, depending on their performance against Slovakia, I mean, would it even be a surprise if the Swiss at this rate beat England?
I still have a *slight* England bias so I do hope that England pulls it off, but they gotta step up their game. Swiss looked like Spain today with the possession, Germany with the pressing, and their defense was what Italy’s defense should have been.

yes. it is just embarassing how they performed during this tournament. No motivation at all. The problem lays in the nation itself. Overpayed politicians, Highest taxes an VAT in Europe but everything crumbles. The soccer federation president is just a guy who does nothing for decades and makes only big promises after every debacle the national team makes. Even with good young prospects they never get a chance to start in big teams (Serie A). Some parents have even to pay teams in order to get their kids a chance to play. Corruption is a big problem. If the parents are poor but the kid has talent forget to see him play. I can go on and on. As Italian I am ashamed. Worst team ever seen apart of Donnarumma.

The thing with the 6:1 is that it was a coaching mistake and about the half of the players were sick bc of the climaconditioners in qatar😬

Balotelli should have been included in this squad. I dont get why he has been blacklisted from the Italy NT. He is still their best striker by far. Another player Italy could have used was Cesari Cadesi. Anyways its time for a rebuild.
