  • I hope this helps some of you out. Quite a few of you guys have kindly asked that I show what I eat in a day. This is a high protein full day of eating for those that are vegan. I have a high metabolism and am extremely active so my calories are higher than most especially since I am more of an ectomorph. When I am counting calories (which is rarely) I stay between 2500 and 3500 depending on my fitness goals. I generally dont have to track too much as I have been doing this for long enough to have a decent sense of how much accounts for what. As far as living Fluoride free I try to as much as possible but of course taking showers and other factors are unavoidable to contributing to some exposure to fluoride. Anyway, Thanks so much for watching!

    I remember seeing this when I was first toying with the idea of going vegan in 2017 and I remember your video reassured me that its possible to get in a high amount of protein, and do bodybuilding as a vegan. Now here I am in 2020, a vegan bodybuilder myself. Haven’t had meat since 2017, and over a year fully vegan already. Thanks for the inspiration! 🙏 - a Dutch guy from Dubai

      but bro, the protein to calorie ratio in this vid was WAY off, 4200kcal/ 152g protein,
      and I have a question, what about fat intake?, the creator of the video didn't even list the amount of fats he'd eaten, fats are esentiall to a healthy balanced diet

    Hey dude microwave doesn't change the molecular structure of anything. The only thing microwave does is emit and electromagnetic frequency which has a high frequency, and that energy is simply absorbed by your food until it reaches kinetic equilibrium. That's why sometimes the bowl heats up before the food, as the bowl can absorb the heat easier. It's completely your choice to what you do I'm just educating.
    It's almost the same process as your stove. The stove transfers through conduction which means direct contact, the microwave transfers through radioactivity (no it doesn't poison your food, it just heats up the water in your food.) Much like how your oven heats up the air which heats up the food. Radiation is unlike conduction and convention in that it heats up the water directly.
    The waves emitted by the microwave are non ionizing. They don't affect your food in any other way other than heating it up. cheers!

      Hey... Do you know what EM radiation eventually does to molecules? Add enough and your molecules will change and break down. How do think burnt food occurs? EM radiation does that same thing but more efficiently.

      what do you think about the flouridation of public water? I figured an academic person would say "well my professor/ text book said it doesn't matter, so flouride fear is baseless and stupid." But maybe not so?

    • @sullenday
      @sullenday 8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Curtis Fowler okay, but I am responsible for taking care of my own teeth. This is weird that we're being involuntarily drugged through the water supply, as if there is no such thing as floss, toothpaste and toothbrush. I can brush my own teeth, thanks, but don't drug me in the water supply for the pretext that you're saving me teeth.

    Im so happy I found your channel. Its great to see more weightlifters crushing it on a vegan diet. Also just a note, microwaves don't change the molecular structure of your food. They only cause the water molecules in your food to vibrate and generate heat. Nothing changes in your food except the temperature. keep up the videos I am definitely a fan :)

    Why some irrational people are fighting to force their opinions to others? I can't see why some people try forcing to others believe that veganism is bad - or the oposite. Let people do their research and decide what they want. I decided to go vegan for ethical reasons, which I am happy to analyze to you if you want, but if you don't I won't! It is as simple as that! I prefer to be the lighthouse, not the boat.

    Bro forget the store bought tomato sauce for pasta! mad high in sodium and its so easy to make.
    2 tins of chopped tomatoes
    half an onion
    1/2 - 1 garlic clove
    pinch of salt and pepper
    bit of basil, bit of oregano, bit of rosemary bit of thyme
    maybe chuck in some red peppers and some chilli for heat
    chop everything that needs to be chopped, put it all in a pan and simmer on a medium heat until its reduced to the consistency that you roll with
    mix up the ingredient levels to suit your tastes but that'll give you a banging tomato sauce and you can control your salt levels!

      While that's not a great example, he's got a correct point - any time you heat up any food, we'll use protein as an example, you alter it's structure. When heating long protein chains, you denature they structure, and break it down into small protein amino acid chains. If this was bad for us, people would only eat raw meat- but it's all fine to take in :) great video though

      also comparing alcohol to honey is quite a vegan thing to do.
      and i assume you are smart enough to understand that honey isn't 'spit that has been fermented'.
      so why don't you eat honey? other than the delusional part where you compared it to alcohol and something i assume isn't pleasant.
      these fallacies are the reason why no one takes veganism seriously.

    • @SoTrueQ

    • @josephine190
      @josephine190 8 ปีที่แล้ว +65

      SoTrueQ no honey is not really "bee vomit" lol that has the same validity as a child saying broccoli is what grows out after a demon ejaculates on soil.
      though the child might be more closer to the truth since those things taste questionable.
      even if it was.. you wouldn't possibly compare bees to mammals would you? and if you don't then why care?
      if they can turn nectar into delicious fructose which i know you think is delicious than why care if its "vomit".. its healthy and delicious.
      i thought it would be a stable in vegan diet.
      here is what a doctor said about the (meme) when he heard it.
      "Extension apiculturist (retired) Eric Mussen of the UC Davis Department of Entomology and Nematology, who retired this June after 38 years of service, says: "I make the distinction between honey bee regurgitation and mammalian vomit based on the fact that the nectar and honey being processed by the bees never have direct contact with food being processed, or expected to be processed, 'digestively' as is the food in a mammalian stomach."
      "Although many sources refer to the honey bee crop as the 'honey stomach,' it is not a place where consumed foods are being digested in honey bees."
      In their book, Honey Bee Biology and Beekeeping, authors Dewey Caron and Lawrence John "Larry" Connor define the honey stomach as a a "honey sac."
      It's "an enlargement of the posterior end of the esophagus in the bee abdomen in which the bee carries the nectar from flower to hive.""

    It's nice to see a bodybuilder who doesn't stress about keeping 'shredded' all the time and dreads about every calorie they eat; what I mean is just being comfortable with what you enjoy eating whilst having a generally health conscious mind.
    I've been a vegetarian for quite a few yrs but always struggled to reach veganism, mostly due to social/work reasons especially when everyone treats me as someone 'different' as is.
    Anyways great channel & will stay tuned for your future uploads man, peace~

      @theoneforhimnow 8 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Blending beans makes no difference to the molecular structure of the hummus. Lol... You're joking right?? When you microwave food, the microwaves break down the vitamins and minerals in the food at the molecular level- depleting the food of all of its nutrients. When you microwave food you may as well be eating cardboard cuz they have about the same health value. Blending however does not change the molecules what so ever. It simply changes the viscosity of the product.

    • @yaywoot123
      @yaywoot123 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @RSleonardo1 i personally supplement, but it isn't impossible using items like wheat gluten (24g protein/120 cal), tofu (10g/100cal), among others (tempeh, etc) .. also choosing carbs that are high protein (beans/lentils/etc) as well as fats (nuts) versus those that aren't
      this book outlines a high protein vegan diet well (with and without supps): www.amazon.com/Plant-Based-Diet-Manual-Strategies/dp/1974468429

    • @yaywoot123
      @yaywoot123 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @RsLeonardo why do you say tofu is garbage for protein intake? it is relatively lean, versatile, decent amino profile, and tastes crazy good .. it is simply a soy bean (complete protein), minus the carb portion.. overall it isn't the MOST complete amino profile, but it isn;t bad and can be added to with other foods.. aesthetically and performance-wise, tofu has been good to me and I don't buy into the whole estrogen thing
      i don't do vital wheat gluten, but many do .. this includes bodybuilders .. it is extremely popular among vegans and pretty much the go-to meat replacement.. i intend to experiment with it more in the future.. right now i suck at cooking it and still am a little hesitant in re: to that much gluten
      i supplement protein powder, b12, and d3 (and flax oil).. i still eat plenty of greens, fruits, and other whole foods.. i am far leaner than my meat eating days, but that is simply because i eat cleaner.. you can get ripped/healthy eating vegan or omnivorous.. to me, a maximum potential diet just means not eating garbage (sugar, yeast, alcohol, etc), and getting all of the vita nutrients and amino acids (and macroing properly)
      i supplement protein powder because it is crazy convenient and makes shakes taste insane (i do protein powder + peanut butter + kale/spinach + frozen fruit .. it comes out to something like 400cal 40g protein, serving or 2 of fat depending on how much pb, with a portion of the cals coming from greens and fruit) .. i don't consider protein powder "unhealthy".. there are obviously brands that add garbage, but most are fine..
      i eat way different than most vegans..
      imgur.com/a/enct4D1
      this is where i am at currently while eating like 70% clean, and slacking on workouts .. not a bodybuilder by any means - but not my goal (and that is chalk on my shorts, i swear) .. and obviously natty/not big at all .. planning a bulk though once work schedule changes.. at the moment, mostly calisthenics/powerlifting hybrid via home gym

      Textured vegetable protein is 50% protein. (processed food)
      Also things like edamame, soy beans pack so much protein.
      But all of them are soy products. Otherwise you have to take protein powders.
      I haven't really seen anything vegan and non processed other than soy which packs very high protein.
      But anyway it's not like meat is 50% protein, most of it is about 10-20g per 100g and packs lots of calories.
