    My estimate is a lot of the Jedi died more then likely because they were not battle tested. I took martial arts for awhile and I had a class mate who said" in a fight I like to do this". I said what you never been in a fight, their all different. Same principle. Class training is different then real life.

    • @MarvinHartmann452
      @MarvinHartmann452 ปีที่แล้ว +22

      That's why, most often than not, martial arts don't work well in a street fight. As Mike Tyson said "Everyone have a plan, until they get punch in the face"

    • @dans5662
      @dans5662 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@MarvinHartmann452 pretty spot on. I've been taught stuff up to a black sash level, but I never received a sash. I was the class battle dummy. I honestly I never had to take things beyond the basic first 10 things we were taught in real life. Elements of martial arts work in street fights, like holds ect. But your not going to be out there in a cat stance. That same class mate was always into talking big I said okay you want to talk, let's go to the projects I'll give some 20$ to fight you. He never took me up on it.

      That's why you have to practise martial arts which can be easily and naturally be used in a street fight, like Muay Thai and Jiu Jitsu (overall MMA)..

    • @dans5662
      @dans5662 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@Arch3R10 yes we were aware of this and basically created a MMA. It took elements of a number of things to make system rather then a style.

      even for real armies. empires often fell if a rising neighbor had fresh strength/won a few of their minor wars, and the bigger empire lost almost an entire generation of experienced warriors not too long prior.
      saddest example and arguably the biggest impact ever on world history was both the Byzantine and Persian empires dealing massive casualty blows against each other, no clear winner, and thus the new Islamic conquest army crushed Persia and took most of Byzantine territory quickly.
      the United states is quite badly in this position as well now. most iraq/afghan vets are out of service, and no real active combat conflict going on.
      there's more collective combat experience in the Bloods and Crypts than the US army.

    I feel like the Mike Tyson quote is perfect for the Jedi here
    “Everyone has a plan till you get punched in the mouth.”
    These Jedi had never seen combat and were completely overwhelmed and outnumbered. It’s entirely justified so many died, contrary to some other comments.

    The film was done in a very clever manner the battle of Geonisis showcases it.
    So during the clone wars story 3 stories are taking place, Obi-Wans investigation, Anakin and Padme romance and protection detail, The senate discussing building an army alongside the Jedi to prevent a war.
    Dooku had no clue Palpatine at the time planned to start the war so soon.
    Dooku is actually in shock and thrown off guard when Palpatine says "it's all as I planned".
    The movie jumps between all 3 stories in a chaotic way, when you think about it, they made it like that to show how chaotic the galaxy was at that point in time.
    Dooku wasn't prepared for the clones, the republic wasn't prepared for the droids.
    That's why Geonisis is such a mess, that mess made it hard for the Jedi to utilise the force.
    The whole movie was a symbolic showcase of the sheer chaos happening at the time.
    That chaos became the fuel for the clone wars to start earlier than anticipated.
    As a matter of fact Palpatine doesn't order Padmes assassination, thats all Newt Gunray, I think thats how its spelt.
    That's why when Palpatine sends Anakin to wipe out the seperatist leaders he demands no survivors.
    They forced Palpatine to accelerate his grand plan, that angered him.
    But Palps being Palps waited for the right time to have them eliminated.
    The way the prequel trilogy was filmed everything was done for a reason, every camera angle, the sparatic cutting, the grand plan was almost ruined.
    Dooku even tells them who the sith lord is, he tells them the master of the sith Darth Sidious is now running the republic.

    • @alecjackman2655
      @alecjackman2655 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That can more likely be Palpatine saving face infront of Dooku. The reason the war starts was because Kenobi came across the army way sooner than intended and it seems like Jango didn’t for-see Kenobi tracking him to Kamino so it possibly it was all just an accident and Palpatine doesn’t wanna admit it.

    Dooku played on all of Windu's weaknesses: Adherence to rigidity, not putting stock in intelligence he didn't like, and extreme arrogance. It should have been clear Dooku was laying a trap, but Windu and the Jedi were so sure they could handle it that they committed to the attack anyway.

    This is why I love Ep.II Attack of the Clones and it being my favorite in the 6-movie franchise. Not only for The Battle of Geonosis, which began The Clone Wars and gave us some of the greatest STAR WARS content we’ve ever seen.. But also the fact that there’s so much backstory and additional character development for the likes of Anakin and Obi-Wan. Also being that Attack of the Clones was sort of the “calm before the storm”.. The storm being the beginning of The Clone Wars. It gave us a young Anakin and showed us how much of a promising Padawan he is and how he’d go on to become a truly incredible Jedi Knight. I just love that whole time period, personally.

    Jedi died because George needed an easy plot change without trying. If Jedi were in touch with the force, there should have been plenty of ways they would have been ready for attack and fought it off better. But a couple main chars can defy huge odds for the plot.

      @@jozefmasny8349 That was a conscious decision to avoid families like the Halcyons, Koons and Sunriders from creating Force Dynasties. With regards to attachment, the entire issue with Anakin was because of his attachment, sure they needed more dynamic methods of addressing it, a more safe environment to allow treatment and a closer eye on Anakin, but the principle was valid; it was execution. It could have been far more detrimental far sooner if they had taken a more relaxed view on attachment.
