I keep coming back to looking around for Berseria cutscenes on TH-cam after watching Arise gameplay. It just feels different. I swear I could never recover from this game. The characters, their dynamics, there isn't a single one of them that I dislike. The skits are everything. Easily my most favorite of all time.
You know what would really hit the spot for Tales? A fighting game made in collaboration with Arc System Works. Tons of stylized moves, fanservice aplenty, and a badass soundtrack. Velvet would obviously be playable, and you could pit her against Sorey, Yuri, Leon, etc. I can already imagine her going "Hmph, some Shepherd" when she wins against Sorey.
Imagine the story mode having every tales of mc working together against maybe all the main villains from their respective games or a new villain that would be PEAK
Cress (Shoto, pure classic with Swallow Dance and Demon Fang): "I will not let you do as you please!" Dhaos (Zoner, casting Fireball, Splash, etc): "For my people, I will not be stopped by the likes of you!" Yuri (Mixup, because his style is pretty formless): "Lunch's on the loser, what say?" Flynn (Charge, hold Lightspear for more oomph): "Not everything needs to be a game, you know. That said, you're on!" Lloyd (Rushdown, because dual wield): "Alright! Time to get pumped!" Sheena (Puppet, cycling between Undine, Efreet, and Sylph): "I'll be in your care today, Lloyd." Jude (Grappler, because I don't know who else can have grabs): "Gaius. I'll show you my resolve!" Gaius (Counter, because Hakumen): "Good. Hold nothing back!"

One of the best Tales of games and really the adventure. Great step forward, esp comparing to Zestiria. The greatest part for me is characters, their development and relationships. Velvet and Elen are one hell of the duo. Start as the enemies, to some sort of partnership, to a comrade and some sort of friends. In the end they can talk normally to each other, open their souls and ask for advice or to do job. For me Elen is the good way of showing, what can be of Alisha in Zestiria. Not some side char for 20% of the game, but full development from naive and too-forward to somebody, who see the real world and make decisions for herself, accept that their is the darkness, and choose her own way... Magilu also really funny and has a can give you a remark almost on anything... I want to see her with Jade from Abyss... This duo can shake the world. Need to replay the game once again before Arise would come in September.
Zesteria is no question the inferior game and story, however having played Zesteria then Berseria, Berseria really ties Zesteria together with certain things like Maotelus (don't check that name if you don't want massive spoilers) It's like watching the Star Wars original trilogy vs prequel trilogy: yes you can watch them individually and get a full story, but together they complement one another.
I enjoy Zestria and I get that they wanted to 'try something new' but what shows that they've got a lot going for them is that they saw what went wrong with Zestria and went "New is still a good thing, we just went too far, let's instead shrink down a bit and cut off this excess to make this awesome thing."
Bought Tales of Arise which got me into the series and wanted to try some others from this series and started with this. After finishing Berseria I absolutely love it. Combat is a bit dated but the characters and story hit so much harder than Arise imo. Arise wasn't bad but this game just was so stellar in that area.
God this game is amazing, Tales of Berseria is my second favorite game of all time, and it's been 3 years since I played it Bamco needs to add a third game in velvets universe, making it a trilogy, but for now we wait for Tales of Arise which I am pretty much hype for! and what better way to past the time than to play this masterpiece again.

I'll be honest. I got the virtual disc where this song is from. Kaze no uta was a masterpiece, specially the PV fitting every bit of the song, and at first this song wasn't so impresive. Over time it grew on me. Berseria is better than Zestiria, that's no secret. Now, out of these two songs, I watch in youtube Kaze no uta from time to time, but I'm always searching for Burn in my phone and my pc. Nonetheless, FLOW makes greats songs

My Favorite Tales of Game and My Favorite Character of Franchise(Velvet). I Like Vesperia too,But Berseria is Special for me. I like Yuri too(My 2nd Favorite Character of Franchise).
If you finished the game before Zestiria, the ending will feel good with Velvet's sacrifice seemingly solving all the problems. But once you finished Zestiria, it would feel different because you know that Velvet and Laphi's sacrifice will turn to shit come the next milennia. It won't feel purely good anymore, but it's still bittersweet. It's bitter because you know someone will screw up down the line, but also sweet because if it happened any other way, there wouldn't even BE anything down the line. Really conveys the message that even the darkest night can BE hope. Not the dawn after, but the night itself is hope.
I’m currently 213 hours into my first play through (yas..I’m doing everything first time around +28k grade wahaha..no life) but I’m loving the fights/battle system to hell and back. Velvet will probably end up being my favorite tales character (who finally dethrones Stan from ps1 ToDestiny) And then there’s that ultra-milfy teacher/scholar whose the same species as Beinfu-what’s his name…god that voice. K..gonna shut up now.
There are two episode of this game being an anime in Tales of Zestiria show. Sadly I do not think the show is that good but man the animation is respectable. They also changed certain outcomes
