on yuour turbo their is a inlet a outlet and a exhuast, so your intercooler will mount on the outlet(charge pipe), then your CAI will be on your inlet, you will; have to remove old factory side mount and crappy plastic piping, and mabey do a lil bumper trimming nothin to big if you go with eurojet street version, just got to their site, or ecstuning,
@yellowpurple13 the 2003 is the ONLY one with a VR6. the 04/05 GLI are the 1.8t. the 1.8 is alot easier to make faster, but the VR6 sounds waaay better. you could put a turbo on the VR6 though...
@yellowpurple13, both cars are fast but if u but if u want more fun out of ur engine then go for the 1.8t. once u experience the boost of the turbo then u'll like it. vr6 has plenty of power but without the boost theres not much fun there.
I have pretty all the same mods in a 1.8t b5 chassis. But I just don't get as much cool sounds in the cabin because the b5 is so well insulated and has that double firewall.

The only real advantage is that you can rev it up higher, which means that you can stay in the lower gears for a longer amount of time for more power. An auto will be fast and everything but you just dont have as much control of the car (not handling, just shifting lol) plus most like the experience of driving a stick in a sporty car. You can still make your car sick

nice gli, got the 20th rollin around with a 3" apr downpipe and a 3" tuner-stop exhaust, thinkin about swappin over to the milltek r32 exhaust, sounds pretty close to your setup when its not resonated, btw people need to realize that vw's and blow offs don't really go together unless you recirc, otherwise its forge diverter valve ftw :)

theres no blow off. thats his diverter valve. he has a cold air intake so you can hear it.

They're pretty reliable engines and cars. I have the 150hp model 1.8t in my '99 passat and it has 210k miles on it now (340k km)
