      They sell them on amazon - probably on all international amazon's but here's the link I used. They are super handy. amzn.eu/d/1fa3tyi

    Another great vid! Really enjoyed watching your plant chores/repotting. Very informative about the nematodes, didn’t know much about them. And sorry about your peace lilly-hope you’re able to get another one.

      Thanks so much 😊 I do have another Peace lily. Hooray! Infact I have two 😂🤦🏼‍♀️. The grief was strong, I extra needed to replace it.

    You are going to love the Rojo....The plant you got will grow huge without propping...it will do well by itself....they can grow massive..will be nice to see how it does on its own....congrats on stopping smoking...I am proud of you :)

      Ooh I hope it grows masive without propping it. Its a hugely underrated plant and it looks so statuesque! It's funny, I was more impressed that I successfully knitted hats in the round that the smoking seemed like less of an achievement at the time. Of course in hindsight I see it differently 😂.

    My Domino also suffered in the heat wave that happened here this summer. Weeks of over 100 to 110 degrees. Nights only cooling down to the 70's. Mine did not die but I had to do a major cut back and repot.

    • @PlantsofJoy
      @PlantsofJoy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes they do not like the heat at all. Mine coped really well with the cold in the winter though. How does yours handle the cold?

      @@PlantsofJoy So far mine is surviving and I even moved it away fromwhere any hars sun light might get to it. Fingers crossed. It is a pretty plant.

    I LOVE my Birkin and I LOVE my Rojo Congo and I ADORE my second Birkin I bought in the reverting form, on discount, at the grocery store. I plan on leaving mine together and letting the congo continue to grow up with the green Birkin surrounding the base. Mostly to see what happens. My real curosity is.................. I have read several places are now selling a smaller version of the Rojo Congo. Will the Congo reverting from my Birkin be the large or the small version? Loving mystery plants
    I have only had my Rojo Congo a little over a year and it is putting out massive really leathery like leaves. It really is a gorgeous plant. I am just concernedwith how big it is eventualy going to get.

      @PlantsofJoy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah I am always hoping they get as big as possible..... then I remember I don't have space for them 😂. I didn't there was a small rojo. I mainly took mine out because it was getting bigger than the rest and it was starting to look like it didn't fit. They look better now and the birkin is like a nice centre of a ring of mystery babies. I agree, yay for mystery plants.

      @@PlantsofJoy This is what I am hoping my reverted/regertingone does. The congo to get bigger and taller with the Birkin growing as an under story plant. Plant was marked down to 9 dollars so not much of a loss if it is a disaster. And if the congo stays a moderate but taller than Birkin size I will keep that and sent mymassivecongo to a friend. Way too big to ship now.
      I had to make a trip to town yesterday so of course I looked at plants at our Home Depot. They had gorgeous Birkins but the growth was different. Leaves were huge and plans were maybe 1 12 foottall but only 7 or 8 leaves. My Birkin is more like yours is. Realy full pot..

      @@shadesofidaho I'm really noticing a difference in the way plants present themselves after TC even more now. I think since the market is so much busier now, they are Tissue Culturing more and using way more different mothers. So in amongst the general species there is way more variety which is really cool. I've particularly noticed it with the gloriosum, birkin and now even the domino Peace lily. I tried to replace it and the leaves are variegated but feel completely different. So I'm gonna just accept there is more variety.

    Hi, after a ton of video watching I've come to find that the larvae can be in the soil already when you purchase a plant. As some garden centers and shops, don't properly water their plants then it increases the chances. I'm also not sure what soil some use, as some plants I received recently appear to have been planted in regular garden compost. I saw no signs of perlite or pumice just very dense soil.

    • @PlantsofJoy
      @PlantsofJoy  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes that plant was in the original soil which was basically peat. I had previously flushed the soil with hydrogen peroxide so I am surprised they made it.

    • @cherie7100
      @cherie7100 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@PlantsofJoy a few of my younger plants didn't like the hydrogen peroxide and are now in rehab. I'm hoping they'll come back
