Any 4090 is going to be amazing...... taking advice from somone who as only owned/tested one and is poiably still in the honeymoon stage is not a great idea. For most products anyway unless you are benchmarking i dont think the different clock speeds matter much. Just the coolers, build quality and aftermarket support (i.e. driver support, customer support and return policys)
@@shaggymanson5375 if you plan on overclocking power delivery matter and power limit matters as well but at stock, like you said just about all 4090s are within margin of error and have overbuilt coolers
I bought the 4090 when it first came out. I just thought that it would of been ridiculous if I bought the 4080 when I can spend a few hundreds more to get 4090. If I was willing the spend that much for 4080, might as well go for the best.
Makes sense if that’s the price difference. When I went to buy a GPU in Australia a few months ago the 4090 Suprim X cost $825 USD more than the Suprim X 4080 (65% more expensive). For someone that games at 1440p ultrawide, I couldn’t justify the extra cost.
I'd be a hypocrite if I didn't agree with this. I own a 7900XTX and when I bought it, the gap between 7900XT and 7900XTX was as little as $40 Canadian. In terms of making choices easy and hard, the US has it much more difficult than I did as a Canadian. On that note, the choice between the 7900XTX and the 4090 was easy as well. The 4090 was and is $1000 cad more than the 7900XTX. That choice kind of like the XT to XTX was a no brainer, just using reverse logic. If I compare the 7900XTX with a 4080, the choice gets foggy. It's around $200 more for a 4080. I could have convinced myself to buy a 4080. The only thing that upset the apple cart for nVidia was the 24GB of VRam on the 7900XTX. In the end I accept that I got drunk on the kool-aid. 7900XTX is a flex buy. I play on a 1440, 144hz 32" monitor and I did not need a 24GB 7900XTX. Feels good to test stuff like American Truck Sim and Way of the Hunter and actually be able to play them at 8K 70-80fps but that is flex. The 4090 is also flex. It's the king of flex. Bad games will still suck, good games will still be fun. On a 3060, 6600, 7900, 4090.
@@OcihEvE the funny thing is, when the 4080 came out. I thought it was such a bad strategy by nvidia with the pricing of the 4080. Amd came out after with the 7900xt and Xtx and made the same mistake with the pricing. I couldn’t believe amd did the same stupid thing with their price strategy (I think AMD price gap was even closer if I remember right. 100 vs 300 at release). I think you did the right thing with getting the 7900xtx. The price gap was too close to pick the XT.
People who say this are retarded because there has never been a time where price wasn’t a part of the equation. If something cost too much, then it’s overrated just because the thing works doesn’t change that!
There's no 'bad' 4090. Your PNY one will be fine at stock settings. Where you would have problems is with overclocking - the VRM implementation is inferior / cut down when compared to some of the higher end models. To summarise, so long as you are running stock settings you will notice no difference whichever 4090 you use. It's all in the overclocking potential which isn't really worth while anyway. I have an ASUS one which does have the full 600w capability but I don't plan on overclocking. I've never seen it draw more than about 350-375W.
I had originally wanted the 4080 until friends told me that the 4090 is better at a price to performance ratio. I didnt regret it and i think the extra cost was worth it. Part of the justification is the fact that this is the first Titan class GPU I have ever owned in my decades of PC gaming.
@@sonic-th966 price to performance is actually similar for both cards if you consider their prices AFAIK 33% more for 33% increase increase in performance. You should never only consider only card prices. Lets say your build costs 2600$ with the 4080 and 3000$ with the 4090. Now its a 15% addition in price for a 33% increase in performance. Edit: Unless and it goes without saying you have set aside a budget for yourself.
I got rid of my coil whine with a 1200w power supply. When you have a lot of overhead it seems to kill the coil whine I've noticed and I haven't seen a lot of people talking about that fact they just suggest an under-volt and a FPS cap instead.
Confused at how anyone could say the 4090 is overated, it literally has no competition, if the other gpu manufacturers had something to compete with it you could say its overpriced and over rated....but when its in a league of its own performance wise you dont really have a point.
Pretty much in agreement with everything you said, regardless of whether or not there's any coil whine I'm all for limiting frames, no point in using extra electricity and getting higher temperatures when you're not really benefiting from it.
Hey, just wanted to ask about how you covered up the stickers on the fan side of the card? Thinking about getting a PNY 4080 or 4090 and wanted to know.
I'm encountering an unusual problem while gaming. Despite disabling notifications, I'm hearing the notification sound randomly. Strangely, when this happens, if I press any movement key like W, A, S, or D and then remove my finger from the button, my character continues to move on its own. How can I troubleshoot and resolve this perplexing issue?
Glad my MSI GeForce RTX 4090 SUPRIM X has zero coil whine. Best card I have ever owned, the performance is spectacular! (upgraded from a GTX 1080, insane upgrade!)
I wanna join you too in the sky lol, I currenty have a mini zotac 1060 6gb in a hp workstation, It's serviceable and respectable for only being a $300 build but not even close to what I want now, I'm trying to go for 1440p 120+ frames on max settings now, overhauling even my keyboard to a whooting and my LG 1080p 144hz monitor to the new LG oled 1440p 240hz, It's gonna be awesome but I'm currently saving up to snag the 4080 maybe in the used market as I won't have to spend close to $1200 on it brand new Just curious to see how you guys would go about building the PC, I still need a MOBO, CPU, RAM, CASE and the monitor but I'd get it after I build the PC what would you guys get first and why?
Joel, the 4070ti is a sub 1000k and pulls over 100 fps in 1440p. It's about 18-22 frames lower than a 4080, but would you notice if you're already at 130? VRAM issues I can't really speak on. Personally, I did my build with a microcenter deal with a 7700x, asRock board and tossed in a 4070ti. AM5 and the AMD 7000 is amazing for the price and the X3D model is the best gaming CPU at the moment.@@joel3683
Very happy with my 4080 for the game i play with in 4K as i dont need 144HZ ( no competitive FPS) Around 120 FPS for most games in Ultra 4K is definitively enough, lets say on more demanding one around 100FPS like cyberpunk i can live with it.
Anything about 60fps is diminished returns. And ray tracing is so not worth the performance cost. I can only see a 4090 being needed for the most giant of TV's.
That's what I do with my 4090 as I too have an LG 4k OLED TV that tops out at 120Hz. The 4080 is good but the 4090 has a lot more headroom. I am sure you can still have amazing experiences down at 1440p rather than 4k. Below the 4080 you should look at the 7900 xt.
"he 4080 is good but the 4090 has a lot more headroom" Exactly, This right here. The headroom you have is insane. If a game comes out unoptimized on a lower gpu such as the 4070 Ti / 4080 your kinda up the creek, 4090 will still be able to push it nicely. MW3 might be one of those games for me so the 4090 would be a major key in that which I hear is made by SH and van guard wasn’t the best optimized game .
@@DETERMINOLOGY Depends on the game... The 4090 can't run everything at max either and it hasn't been able to since path tracing. Maybe I'm just realizing how game development works now but I don't think there is such a thing as future proofing. Devs are building features into their games that no consumer gaming GPU can fully run at modern resolutions with just raw power.
@@aerrae5608 I wouldn’t keep buying 80 series nor 70 series which is more money. The 4090 can hold nicely if you don’t let unoptimized games make you wanna upgrade and everything isn’t based around 4k.
People like you don't understand what's relevant in a GPU. Let's take the 4060ti with 16GB VRAM as an example. The card is worse than the 3070 with 8GB in WQHD gaming. Even if the 4060ti had 50GB VRAM, it wouldn't perform any better. The 4060ti has a 128-bit bus and 8 lanes. You can't use all of the VRAM because the throughput rate is too low due to the far too small bit bus. So you won't get very far with VRAM alone. But that's the problem. People see a lot of VRAM and can't evaluate it.
if you're on 4K no it's not overrated. it's the first card that can do high refresh rate 4k at max graphics. if you're on 1440p/2K then yeah it's probably overrated
can i ask , do the 4090s or just any gpu have differences in performance when they are different models or are all gpus the same despite them being different models and having price differences.
Great question! So it’s basically a limited range of performance differences. Essentially, all 4090s are 4090s for example. So they all have a base level of performance they will hit. From there, different models have 3 ways they can be different. This includes looks, out of the box clock speeds, and their cooling solution. Looks are just looks and have no impact on performance. Out of the box clock speeds can make a small difference in performance. Ideally, the higher the clock speed, the more fps you get. The biggest difference is the cooler. Different cards are colder than others. Also, the cooler can impact noise levels as well. But mostly, all GPUs are within a certain range of each other. Look up 4090 roundup or 4070 roundup here on TH-cam. You’ll see how small the differences are between GPUs.
How dare you spend your money the way you want. Enjoy! Edit: If you ever want to change the color, just use vinyl wrap as you won't be limited to just solid colors. Plus, a wrap won't void your warranty.
Honestly the 4090 is amazing... but I just couldn't justify a price that high. I considered the 4080 (because Nvidia), however after a lot of research I went with a sapphire nitro 7900 xtx... and I love it. I was a bit sceptical at first, but I think the adrenaline software was really put together well and the hardware is also still insanely good.
@@cavereschnot at all. In fact, I was surprised how well the adrenaline software was put together in terms of funtionality. So the 7900 xtx might be the second/third fastest card on the market, it's still pretty damn good. Also the new features amd announced at gamescom put a smile on my face, further reinforcing I made a good decision.
@99vv17if you can grab a 7900 xtx for 900$ just grab it, no need for the 4080. You won't be disappointed. Also let's not forget amd is planning to include frame gen on the driver level.
I was originally going to buy a 4080, but the 4090 launched first and seeing them selling out quickly prompted me to grab one instead. Everything you said in this video I completely agree with. Really glad I went for it instead of the 4080 in the end.
Thats like saying you're really glad you bought a Mercedes instead of a Toyota. The 4090 is double the price. Over a thousand dollars more. But you talk about it like you're glad you chose a Chevy over a Ford.
I still get good experience with my 3090 and when I do upgrade it will probably be a 50 series card so I will be skipping the 40 series so a 5080 might be like 10 to 15 % better then a 4090 😮😂😂....
what would happen if you restrict both cards to 150w ? i play at 1440p with my 4070ti. i never go above 100w in any game... while having 70-90 fps most of the games... not cyberpunkt and heavy path traced games of course
Good on you brother. I'm glad that you are not getting stuck on the weeds (i.e. brand purchase, type, etc.) and are focusing on the larger picture of.....actually owning and testing the 4090.
It would have been nice to see a cost per frame or cost per watt comparison. I don't think it's a secret that the RTX 4090 is a better card but (as a consumer) it's nice to know if the additional money invested will be worth the additional money spent versus a lower cost option.
There's no real benefit to that, he's not testing a range of 4080 and 4090 cards. If you want those numbers, they're widely available all over the internet, on places like tech power up. I can save you some time and tell you you'll be screwed trying to get a per watt cost, that varies by location, unless you're specifically interested Erock's power bill for some reason? Would be weird, but I've seen weirder on the internet. 😂
4080 * 1. 36 = 4090 since the 4090 is a 36% performance increment over the 4080 Multiply the price of the 4080 by 1.36. If the result is lower than 4090's price, then the cost per frame of the 4090 is worse and that difference is just paying for no performance.
As you said I already own a 4080 and play any games at 4k no problem. I would never sell it for a 4090. Power usage is very low. Undervolted it and increased my performance and rarely go over 300w...
Hey, I have some questions. I am also planning to go 4080 because it's a lot cheaper than 4090 in my country and I would like to know which CPU and monitor you use. I was thinking about going with i5-13600kf and I am still not sure about the monitor.
@@hayven3494 monitor I can't really help you cause i'm playing on a 4k 120 hz tv :) anything 1440p 120 hz+ or 4k would be decent I think. For the CPU the 13600KF is very fine.
I grabbed the FE 4090 last year, upgrading from an RX 6900XT, it's deff not overrated. The 7900XTX or 4080 would not have been a justifiable upgrade to cap out 4k 144Hz.
If you plan to overclock it, yes it will go close to 500W in some games, but I've undervolted mine and set it to 80% power draw, with a bit of memory clock increased I get same, or greater performance than stock. And it stays below 350W all the time.@@iikatinggangsengii2471

No, I agree it is not overrated. It handles all games with the highest framerates. I understand people think it is too expensive, but it is an enthusiast card. I am glad it exists.
I think what many reviews of the 4080 failed to understand is that its Dlss efficiency is far beyond the 30 series (due to the superior 4th gen tensor cores) and that Dlss is a massive advantage over FSR 2, and in most cases is equal if not better than native. So these 40 series cards - even the 4090 - are really designed to use Dlss. I have a 4080 that is brilliant, but I've actually been equally impressed by my laptop 4060, which in Dlss balanced or performance hits 60fps at 4k in most modern titles, while staying well within the 8gb vram limit. That's really insane, and it truly showcases how much further ahead the 40 series is.
@@whiskizyo2067 It depends on the games you play I suppose but pretty much all recent AAA games have some form of temporal upscaling solution which is where it matters the most imo. Elden Ring is one that comes to mind that doesn't have any. @@whiskizyo2067 why would you write something so misleading and confusing for people interested in buying modern cards? The tech is available in almost all modern visually demanding PC games, which is where that technology is actually useful. The fact that it is not available in most games, presumably referring to the thousands of games that were made prior to Dlss, is of course true but also largely irrelevant since all modern discreet GPUs are able to run older games without a problem. There might be a few outliers but presumably not many. I've had Radeon and NVIDIA cards and I'm not partial to either; I'm just stating relevant facts. There are I am sure smaller modern titles that don't support Dlss, and some outliers that have no upscaling options, and some like Starfield and Jedi Survivor (which are "AMD exclusive" titles) that support upscaling but not Dlss (in which case NVIDIA cards would still be just as capable if not more so if running this well), but the majority of AAA modern games support Dlss.
I've been thinking about selling my 4080 to go to a 4090. But I'm about to upgrade my whole system from a 5900x to a 7800x3d so I'll see if that alone gets me a boost in performance where I want to be and maybe I'll just stick with my 4080. I do really like it. It runs super cool.
I just built my first PC. 78003xd and a 4080. I haven't even really messed with settings yet and it runs 4k excellent. I would say wait until prices come down. It blows my PS5 away and that's all I care. All these gpus are extremely overpriced. 4090 is obviously better but I just don't really see why you need over 100 fps. All the games I have played feel excellent on my 4080. I'm also old and my eyes and reactions are not what they used to be.

Your money, but I cannot see myself sinking nearly 2 grand on a 4090 when it still can't run Cyberpunk with RT on Ultra above 100+ fps. Let's wait and see what the 5090 brings to the tables
Although the scenarios are different for everyone, for me, at almost one year into this generation, paying that $1,600 premium, plus tax for a 4090 doesn't seem worth it just for it to be outperformed by the 5070/5070 Ti in a little over a year, UNLESS you are targeting 4K in which case, a 4090 is the best option right now. A used 4080 on Amazon is closer to $1,000 which would be saving you a third of the 4090's cost for roughly 80% of it's rasterization performance at 1440p.
It is already confirmed that 5000 series are going to be delayed into 2025, so 5070 will most likely be available not in a little over a year, but rather over 2 years. With this approach you could also wait forever for next gen of anything.
Water is wet and the sky is blue. Just buy a card that can hang for a few gens at the resolution and frames you feel is enjoyable and stop trying to have the best. No. Another thing you gotta concider is that to keep smooth gameplay it's recommended to set your fps cap 15 to 20 above your monitor refresh rate bc of frame drop. Plus with 4090 performance you won't ever have the need to upgrade again for a very long time

The differences between the 4080 and 4090 is a generational one. The 4090 for vr is unparalelled as well. It is expensive, the thing is you dont have to make compromises w it though. I recommend buying a used one if you cant afford new. Hell even if you can afford it i still recommend buying used. Its always better to keep money in your pocket. The 4090 is simply a monster gpu.
Yes, it is a monster. But, as awesome as it is, it's a castrated monster. Voltage is gimped. I need AT LEAST 1.200V for mine to become everything that I want it to be. The 1.100V kneecap is a hindrance to achieving even greater things.
@@parkersgarage4216 I have the 4090 Suprim cooled with chilled water. I am running the 1000W vBIOS but exhaust the available 1.100V. I need 1.200-1.300V to max out my core overclock capacity on chilled water. This replaced my 3090 Kingpin, which I usually benched at 1.400-1.425V on the chiller.

But, to answer your question, yes... very notable improvement with the 1000W vBIOS versus the 666W Galax vBIOS. The 666W power limit is too low.
Going for PNY was a good call. IMHO the only 4090s worth considering are PNY and Inno3D. The others are either notorious coil whiners (Asus, MSI) or fan motor howlers (Palit, Gainward, KFA2/Galax, Zotac). Gigabyte is decent but it has fan curve/ramp-up issues.
I use frametate caps all the time with my GPU's. For example am playing Baldurs Gate 3 on a 4090 on the oled alienware ultrawide monitor 3440x1440 and have it capped to 80FPS with HDR its fantastic. Its more than plenty for that game, if i turn on DLSS too which does a better job with AA than the games own TAA my gpy pulls around 80 to 120 watts. It depends on the game and personal prefetence. For me i like a more consisteny experience so i will utilize fps caps, if im benchmarking something sure run flat out.
You should just disable TAA and DLSS both, DLAA is the way to go. It's the very best of both worlds. You can thank me later. My 4090 maintains a locked 120 fps, with native 4k + DLAA with that title, so you definitely shouldn't have problems targeting a 80 fps cap, regardless of which renderer you use.

Hey , can somebody just should i buy rtx 3060 or 4060 both are in my budget I'm building a new pc and I'm confused as helll i dont know should i go with rtx 4060 or rtx 3060
I'm getting ready to do a Lian-Li A4-420 mini ITX 11L case build.. the smallest 4090 I found for these small cases was the Asus TUF 4090 OC.. at 325mm. Its the best option outside of the FE and Suprim Liquid X. If you happen to be doing a small build.
So I was saving up for a long time to build a new PC (last one had a gtx980) and the 4090 seemed too expensive so I went for a 4080 and a 13700k. It was still an expensive PC here in the EU and when I looked at the total price of the components and the monitor getting a 4090 instead of the 4080 was a 6% price increase for 20%+ more performance (on average). In my head the 4090 made a lot more sense at that point.
My Gigabyte Gaming OC RTX 4090 has a much better VRM, a 600W power limit, and a better cooler for $50 more than your PNY. I'd recommend it to anyone with a similar budget as you. It d also hasn't caught fire because I plugged the cable in all of the way 😂
50 bucks for literally no gain in gaming fps or performance is kind of hard unless people just like the look of the OC better I still recommend the cheapest 4090 they all perform the same outside of 3D mark
Very overrated - for the price. It only defeats to AMD 7900 XTX by about 40% (or less) in rasterized performance for a 100% price increase. Terrible value. Only thing it is great at is ray tracing, that's it. But once you strip that gimmick away it loses a lot of value. I own over 200 games on Steam and I think maybe 10 of them have ray tracing.
5:12 the cable to your card isn't straight. You might want to make sure that the card is fully seated otherwise you could be another victim of the connector burning. GN did an entire video on this and found it was user error, I dont want the same thing to happy to you like it did to many others .
7:53 wrong! higher fps is always good because it lower input latency, even if your monitor only support 120fps it will still make the input more responsive. This has been tested many times in competitive games
One thing you could talk a bit about is total system cost and that this potentially makes the advice for what GPU different from when you only factor in the price of the GPU. As an example; the 4090 is 33% more expensive than the 4080, but what if we compare them in a build where all the other components cost say $1200? The build with the 4090 is now "only" 17% more than the build with the 4080. Personally I have a PC where the 4090 is around the same price as all the other components in the system. This makes it 15% more expensive than if I would've bought the 4080 instead and for 4k gaming this was a "no brainer" imo.
That's very well put. I too built a new system and decided on a 4090 but I didn't start out with that idea. I was either going to get a 4080 or a 7900XTX but couldn't decide. They both felt compromised to me. Eventually I thought, "fuq it" and ended up buying (coincidentally) a PNY 4090 XLR8, I at least figured it would have longevity, be future proofed....You just gave me another reason to feel I made the right decision. Cheers. 😁👍
Almost bought your 4080 on marketplace, but decided to wait and either get a 4090 or hopefully a 4080 super *fingers crossed, Nvidia does a super refresh for the 40 series cards
Very nice video. I recently upgraded to a gaming laptop with 4060 for 700 bucks on Cyber Monday. I play on medium settings at 1080p, capped fps at 60 with DLSS and Frame Gen enabled. The interesting I learned is that ultra and medium look the same if you compare the videos side by side.
I recently upgraded from a 1080ti to a 4090 hoping to have a card thats going to last at least 5 years. Weird thing is that the game im playing now (BG3) actually lose some fps because of how cpu bottlenecked act 3 is.
It's weird to own a flagship GPU in todays gaming market. We've hit the point of diminishing returns where raw rasterization isn't giving us the generational leaps we're used to. I've been more than happy with my 4070 coming from my 1080ti with what it delivers and how power efficient it is. I just refuse to spend the ridiculous amount of money on a flagship that Nvidia commands these days.
I bought the 4090 to pair with my i9 13900k and I choosen those parts to bcs they are at the time the best and will last for a long time before I need to upgrade again
I have just finished building my new PC and the only 2 components I was certain of when buying the parts was 1 - It had to have an Intel 13900K (sorry I'm just in the Intel team), and 2 - It had to have an RTX 4090. I have never owned or used an RTX 4080 to compare so can't comment on that but coming from an Intel I7 4790K with an RTX 2070 I'm saying the RTX 4090 is not overrated as I LOVE it.
I have the same config you had (4790K what a beast), I just ordered a 13700 and a 4090.. Was having very mixed feelings on the 4090 purchase as it's so much money for just a graphic card.. Your comment gave me a little smile, can't wait to test it out.
@Hauntedfen I went with the 13900K and MSI Gaming X Trio RTX 4090, 64 GB Corsair DDR5, MSI Z790 Carbon motherboard, 1 x Samsung 990 Pro 1TB, 3 x Crucial P5 Plus 2TB and 1 x Crucial P3 Plus 4TB, all in a Corsair 5000D airflow RGB case. It's fast, so so so so fast. It's ridiculously fast. Shouldn't need another upgrade for a while if this sytem lasts as long as the 4790K I'm still running alongside this new system.

I couldn’t believe amd did the same stupid thing with their price strategy (I think AMD price gap was even closer if I remember right. 100 vs 300 at release).

People like you don't understand what's relevant in a GPU. Let's take the 4060ti with 16GB VRAM as an example. The card is worse than the 3070 with 8GB in WQHD gaming. Even if the 4060ti had 50GB VRAM, it wouldn't perform any better. The 4060ti has a 128-bit bus and 8 lanes. can i ask , do the 4090s or just any gpu have differences in performance when they are different models or are all gpus the same despite them being different models and having price differences.

@@jimmytimber7074it’s about longevity, you want your card to last as long as possible and odds are the 4090 will last a good 4 years at max 4k settings and then you’d have to dabble with DLSS for the next 3 years, then lower settings after that. This is so far above all the competition that the ps6 will 100% be inferior heck maybe even the ps6 pro.
5900x is def holding you back with a 4080.
What are you doing that your 4080 isn't able to keep up?
Excellent video man! The PNY 4090 honestly is amazing! I think that the others just don’t justify the higher cost for only 1-3% difference in performance! I think the important thing is here is that it can perform as well as it does with lower temps and it’s quiet! Also backed by a LONG warranty! Yea, I’d say PNY kills it with this!
What are you using to undervolt? Thanks man!
1-3% difference?
@@mv223 All those pre overclocked big brand name GPU's that cost 300 dollars more? You don't get much for it. Just overlock a cheaper card, it's not hard.
I have the PNY model. If you don't plan on overclocking it is a fantastic card. With how fast it is you wont need to overclock it. It is like 1.5 console generations ahead.
What is the coil line?
My last pc was built in 2007 it and a 1950XTX. Last week I pulled the trigger and bought myself a 4090 with 13900K 😂 Needless to say I’m very happy with it and it’s always been a dream of mine to have the best of the best in terms of performance on PC, rip 4 grand 😢
Don't forget another 3 grand for a 4k / 144Hz 75 inch television - lol. Playing games is taking on a whole new meaning and I am not okay with that. Your money, but I cannot see myself sinking nearly 2 grand on a 4090 when it still can't run Cyberpunk with RT on Ultra above 100+ fps. Let's wait and see what the 5090 brings to the tables
What is your opinion on the different cards in laptops?
Thats impossible when by the time they roll out the SKUs of the latest and greatest they are already talking about the “next and better generation”.

What should have been the ideal price for 4090
@@Chronos867 if the 4080 is 1000$ around 1350-1400$ would be okay. So you get around 30% more fps for 35-40% more, seems reasonable for me. BUT, if price were not that crazy as they are. 4080=700-800$, 4090 1000-1100$
I am most Likely going 4090 soon, love to see your thoughts on it with 21:9 :) I would consider going 4K from a 3440x1440p screen, however I can't see any 4k monitors that are around 27 "to 32" with OLED ? I don't want to go 42" or above as the PPI just becomes the same as a 34" 21:9 screen, so little point,

AND: When released, the price - performance - ratio was way better with the 4090. You´ve paid round about 30% more for 30% more FPS. And you´ve got 50% more VRAM. So you´ve got more for your money. Today the situation is changed since the 4080 is cheaper.
And the situation has changed since the 4090 has gone up in price due to demand and lack of supply.
I'm new to pc gaming ,what program do you use for your fps overlay?
MSI Afterburner.
Would a 4090 be overkill for 1440p with a 144hz monitor? Been hearing UE5 is going to be pretty demanding with up and coming games
No. Another thing you gotta concider is that to keep smooth gameplay it's recommended to set your fps cap 15 to 20 above your monitor refresh rate bc of frame drop. Plus with 4090 performance you won't ever have the need to upgrade again for a very long time
@@Dr_Angry Unless you use gsync/freesync then you want it 1 fps under your monitors refresh rate.
IMO not overkill. It will let you do things like run full on RT/PT at high framerates.

4090 makes me wonder how well the 50 series replacement will perform will we see 30 tp 40 percent uplift ? next gen
No idea. It’s hard to tell. It’s almost 2 years away.
I would expect to be around 60% or more but to be reflected in the price over the 4090
The differences between the 4080 and 4090 is a generational one.
@@MrFoxRox what card do you have? What are you trying that it won't do? Genuinely curious

mother of god, i didn't know it was a difference so big. 4080 isn't a bad card, but the price/perfomance was a huge turn down for gamers.
Yeah the 4080 price tag really hurts it.
TUF 4090's are the shiz. I haven't heard it yet, zero problems. Runs cool as can be too, and overclocks very high.
A smart user 👌
You should just disable TAA and DLSS both, DLAA is the way to go. It's the very best of both worlds. You can thank me later. My 4090 maintains a locked 120 fps, with native 4k + DLAA with that title, so you definitely shouldn't have problems targeting a 80 fps cap, regardless of which renderer you use.

Hey , can somebody just should i buy rtx 3060 or 4060 both are in my budget I'm building a new pc and I'm confused as helll i dont know should i go with rtx 4060 or rtx 3060
All my friends tell me a 4090 is overkill but seeing the benchmarks I’ll take it lol
Lol I used to think the same thing. Until I used it myself haha.
Can you show UV settings?
So I was saving up for a long time to build a new PC (last one had a gtx980) and the 4090 seemed too expensive so I went for a 4080 and a 13700k. It was still an expensive PC here in the EU and when I looked at the total price of the components and the monitor getting a 4090 instead of the 4080 was a 6% price increase for 20%+ more performance (on average). In my head the 4090 made a lot more sense at that point.
Is an I5 12600k gonna bottleneck a 4080 on 4k? Have gotten mixed answers so looking for a clear up
Sure will bottle neck it
Purchased the 4080 with the 7800x3d and it is awesome. Less price in electricity and does everything I want.
I used to have that same combo before I bought the 4090. It’s a great combo! I wouldn’t have upgraded if I wasn’t a creator.
I got the PNY 4080 with 7800x3d and its such a great combo 👍

Hey Erock, I can't tell you how happy I am to see you review this particular PNY card mate... because naturally _I'd bought one too._ Lol. 😂👍👍👍
when swapping 40 series cards, do you need to reinstall drivers?
Yes, since each gpu have their own unique driver, and preferably a clean installation too, meaning wiping the prior driver & installing the new one.
My PNY 4080 is awesome. Zero complaints and like it better than any MSI or Gigabyte card I’ve had.
PNY is a good brand.
Over-rated? no
Overpriced? Absolutely!
the pain is real dude! 💸💸💸
Cheers.

Thank you for appreciating my work.
I bought the 4090 to pair with my i9 13900k and I choosen those parts to bcs they are at the time the best and will last for a long time before I need to upgrade again
I did the same, but I went for the 7950X3D so that I can still upgrade my CPU later.
You made the best choice 👌

Bought my 4080 about 4 years ago, sold that PC and made a 4090 PC for free. 😂 Worth every penny.
Is the 4070 and 12 GB VRAM underrated form 1440p?
For 1440p, for now it’s totally ok. In the next 2 years, you may have to enable DLSS or drop to 1080p however.
