    I love the commentators. The "by-the-book" middle-aged man and the crazy old dude. They compliment each other very well. they both have different ideas of how things should be played, and they still make it work.
    My only complaint is that you guys don't put videos up every day because I would watch them every day.
    I'm in a band. We play a lot of shows at bars, and so that's when I get to play. The only thing I can do is stop the cue and roll it forward. This helps me so much.
    Thank you.

    My nephew wears the same equipement as Earl. The only difference is that my nephew is a soccer goalie. Gotta love that Earl... LOL

      Johnny Archer said that he played Earl one match, and just to rib him, Johnny donned all the weights, ear protection and glasses. Earl said "You're making fun of me, aren't you." Johnny said "No, what are you talking about?" He said he only wore the stuff for his first rack, but he said it was the best rack he played all day.

    Earl overhitting that four and getting straight in on the five in game nine - looks like that cost him the match. One just cannot afford to get careless. Not a table that breaks easy, so not easy to play catch-up. Then: getting the bridge a waste of time? Ouch! Remember Busti at the World Championships? Not a great match from the perspective that Earl gets all negative and more or less gives up. Rodney gets the job done, despite his hardly commendable one-stroking of balls. Thanks for uploading!

    Hey man, don't let anyone get you down about it. Good for you for learning another language, which is more than most of these people who criticize have probably done.

    @BClub agreed completely. why hate on jim wych? his voice just reminds me of billiards now. hes articulate and adds good color commentary. best in my opinion.

    The shot Earl did at 25:05 I've been trying to do that for ages, why can't I get that action? I've heard it's more about getting running english than just straight top, but I can't do it...
    I can get really good draw, but hardly and follow. (I just recently realized that I'm hitting the cue ball lower than I though, but even adjusting that I still can't get it.)

    • @phantom33bb58
      @phantom33bb58 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      U have to hit very high inside an kind of snap ur wrist. It takes a lot of practice. Follow is not too hard. U jus have to aim really high. But the good thing is u can aim super high without miscuing !! Good luck

  • @wpkid7
    @wpkid7 13 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    @MacManLtd You might want to follow through more if you cant get the follow that you need, that's usually a problem that alot of people have. Not being able to see your stroke or your shot i cant guarantee that that will work though, it could be many things that are effecting the shot.

  • @uvafan420
    @uvafan420 11 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    In 9-ball he may have been Mosconi level. But Mosconi would have drilled Earl at Mosconi's game, straight pool.
    Earl's high gear was Mosconi all the time.

    • @joshuahaynes7413
      @joshuahaynes7413 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      uvafan420 haha mosconi wasnt even close to earl . them guys in thr 60s m 70s was B MAYBE A minus players .

    • @MikeyD22
      @MikeyD22 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      You're right. Earl does compete in straight pool and is nowhere on the same planet in that discipline as Mosconi. Never come close to the kind of high runs that Willie had. If the Earl jock sniffers don't agree with you, they can look it up. Facts and numbers don't lie.

      Ajay Londono the men spent more time arguing than they did playing. Then you got some getting appearance agents, John Schmidt was one
      That led to more bitching.
      ESPN got pissed off and quit televising the men.

  • @packjim56
    @packjim56 10 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    You want to increase interest in billiard sports. Do what poker did years ago, pit celebrities against each other. It will help build interest in the sport in the "non pool playing public". Golf did the same thing too with Bing Crosby at Pebble Beach. You need to go outside the box to attract the interest of the non-playing public. Otherwise you are only preaching to the choir. P.S. Team up celebs with the pros, i.e Pro Ams.

    • @bigfoot11032
      @bigfoot11032 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Won't work the game is too slow. Way too slow.

    • @packjim56
      @packjim56 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      bigfoot11032 Yeah, you're probably right. The idea of mixing pros with celebrity amateurs needs a very rapid pace like,.....(thinking) golf. No wait...

    • @bigfoot11032
      @bigfoot11032 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      packjim56 Yes and lots of us Americans tired of watching those Hollywood a holes. Al Sharpton is in the process of holding them up, maybe those spoiled liberals will wake up now. The only thing that will make pool popular is antics like Earl Strickland pulls. And faster play. I tried to watch some Johnny Archer I had to shut it off.

    • @abusiveFIRE
      @abusiveFIRE 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +bigfoot11032 I had to do the same and it sucks because I love Johnny as a person :( I thing mr PackJ is on to something but there is NO way an amateur could be TV ready in less than maybe 3-4 years. It's even harder to learn when you're older...If you've seen snooker, they gained popularity but giving each player a personality they needed to portray, one wore giant glasses, some were comical, some were super fast...that kind of thing

      @bigfoot11032 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    LOL. That's like saying real pool players have nothing to learn. All but a very few players can still learn a thing or two from guys who have played all their long lives, have played at top levels, and knows all the top players--current and past ones.
    If you don't want to hear what "old-timers" have to say, you don't love and honor the game. You're just a talker.

    @GetMeThere1 14 ปีที่แล้ว

    @BClub : Baloney. DiLiberto and Incardona are much better. They also don't try to inject drama and false-sounding elation/excitement like Wych does. He's annoying with that. People who are dedicated enough to pool to watch these things aren't interested in false drama and whoops; they're interested in really experienced and insightful comment/explanation. Wych understands the game, but it has MEANT so much more to the other two, that their commentary has HEART--and resonates with other players.

      Fats???? do a little research if you are capable. Also, you are dead wrong. Efren is superior. as a "pocket billiards" player. He plays all the games at championship level. Earl is just a tad better than he is at 9 Ball and only because of his weak break shot.
