DONT put any AC on full speed and lowest temperature as soon as you start !
There are many methods you can cool the quickly ...
1) Start the car and lower two door glass and start driving. This will flush all the hot air from inside
2) After few minutes switch on the AC at moderate blower speed and temperature of 22/23 deg C.
3) Once you feel the hot air is vented off , now raise the glass.
4)Gradually lower the temperature and increase the fanspeed as required !
5) Keep the AC at optimal temperature , so that you can save fuel and engine performance.
DON'T EXPECT A FREEZING COOL FROM AC WHEN YOU ARE LIVING IN HOT AND HUMID CLIMATE ! AC PERFORMANCE IS DIRECTLY PROPORTIONAL TO INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE !

One main thing missed out. If engine oil level goes down, engine oil temperature goes high and as a first warning AC goes OFF. Instead of suspecting AC failure, check oil level and reason for excessive increase in engine oil temperature.
