Great comparison 👍. I am learning French. Honestly, I prefer Lingopie as you get to watch many shows you like and don’t even realize that you are actually learning a language .
If you watch a French show, does the subs match? One of the problems I have with Netflix is that I put the voice over in French (or it’s originally French) and the subs just don’t match the vocalists/actors words🤯
I always go to your channel for reviews. I’m learning Spanish. I studied it years ago but haven’t used it. I’m a teacher and want to communicate better with my students’ families.
iv'e been using LinqQ for over a year and I love it. After hearing about Lingopie I'm really curious. I think I will use it also. Can't go wrong with both.
I want to learn Korean, but I think I might start picking my French back up. It's been two years since I've used it consistently and it would be great to have a refresher! Thanks for telling us about so many language programs!
thank you for that great review. For years now I want to learn Italian, because I want to be able to talk more than the standard "due Cornetto..." when I go and get breakfast for us on vacation :). So I tried about every App/Tool there is, with verry little success. When I learned english years back before the Internet (yep I am that old) I did so with reading books but also watching lots of english movies. You could say I am a visual learner, thats why I thing Lingopie is the right tool for me.
I said I would start to learn a new language in a previous video bc of all the videos you have been coming out with and I have! Coming back with learning Spanish
I m trying to learn a few languages and have gone through the flash cards etc. There is little context. The lingopie seems better for me as I actually can get the overall feel of the situation . The price looks good and like a typical online streaming service.
Lingopie uses Netflix but I have to be on a computer and not my phone. I want Mexican Spanish and there’s not a lot of content on it with the phone. But I do like it.
I am still unsure which way to go I h😢just completed my annual subscription to Duolingo but won’t renew as all I want to do is be able to communicate in French but their insistence on totally accurate word endings annoys me. As I stated I want to be able to communicate not rival Balzac or Hugo 😂. BTW learning to exercise my mind and keep active at age 74
Hey, great video. I am just starting to learn Spanish with Babble. And they have released a new thing where you can have a conversation similar to Rocket Spanish. It would be great if you could cover this in one of your videos, I would love to hear you oppinion on this!
I like the idea of LingQ, but when I tried it, the clunky UI just got in the way. Lingopie on the other hand has a great UI. Unfortunately when I tried it, I couldn’t find anything I wanted to watch. They seem to be updating their content all the time so I’ll try it again in a year or two.
I'm studying Greek. Lingopie doesn't have Greek, but Lingq does. Thus, I use Lingq and really love it. I would use Lingopie if they offered Greek, too.
Thanks for the breakdown of these programs John . Really appreciate all the hard work you put in man 🙌. I'm learning French and Spanish cz I love learning new languages. And also because French is the second most commonly used language here in my city ❤😊
Adjectives are green? Hmm … I prefer verbs green, adverbs or adjectives (descriptive words) orange and feminine words pink/masculine words blue to help me remember. Is there an option to do this? I already have my own color-coded system and I think that would confuse me. I have tried LingQ but I also do not like their highlighting system … you rate your level of knowledge of each word by color levels but if I remember correctly the colors were so close in shades that it was hard to tell which level of knowledge I had rated it.
I had already downloaded lingq earlier today and I like it, after watching this I decided to download lingopie and it seems very fun but unfortunately it has none of the languages I want to learn
Not learning any language right now but Spanish or Mandarin in the near future. Want to live in countries in the future where those are the predominant language
I will try Lingopie maybe in the next few years again. I bought it this year and I did not like any of the shows. Many of them don't suit my personality because they have violence, indecent language, drugs use, alcohol use and they are very liberal and I cannot stand to watch shows that don't align with my beliefs as a conservative Christian. Don't get me wrong I like the lingopie UI and what they have to offer. I thhink that it is really great but I just wish they included more variety of shows.
@@JuanMoreno-wo5yb I never watch TV, even when my brother does, and we're housemates. I enjoy Duolingo. But I worry that even it can become habit-forming. Whenever I get a lesson right, I want to do another one.
A question please, about lingopie. If you watch a French show, does the subs match? One of the problems I have with Netflix is that I put the voice over in French (or it’s originally French) and the subs just don’t match the vocalists words🤯

Thanks for the review. I am currently learning Spanish because I have gained many Spanish friends here in the States!
That's awesome!

Definitely checking out LingQ
You should. All the other apps are just manure compared to it
for new language learners this is great! I want to learn Arabic!
Thanks. This comparison was very helpful. I am going to give Lingo Pie a try.
Thanks for the detailed comparison! I’m a visual learner so will check out lingopie! I’m learning spanish and Chinese right now to help with travel!
Very cool!

Good video. For Polish learners we can't use lingipie, so im using lingq and am very happy with it.

Glad you think so! Thanks for watching!
Thanks for sharing the review. Will try the free version first, to get started.
Just checked your website ! Thank you for that very helpful!
Glad it was helpful!
Learning Spanish atm with my 5yo. Great to know these info!
Thank you for the review!
Never heard of LingQ, nice!
as a lingq user, lingopie def looks enticing but i feel like i can get a lot of the same functionality from the language reactor extension
Checking out, thanks!
Thanks, John. Another good comparison.
Thanks!
I am learning german and Chinese because i like the the two languages.
This was a very helpful review. Thank you!

I think what was nice about LingQ was you could get away from the “noise” … you can read quietly if you want or play the audio.
I have used LingQ for one year, and I don’t find it to be the right one for me. Thus I’ll be trying Lingopie for a year.
Great LingQ vs Lingopie (Which Language Program advive. Thank you. Great website too.
Lingopie uses Netflix but I have to be on a computer and not my phone. I want Mexican Spanish and there’s not a lot of content on it with the phone. But I do like it.
great video. sounds like lingopie for me. learning korean

at 74? That's great. Keep it up!
I am 71… I had to dump Duolingo, it took to much of my time and I wasn’t learning fast at all! 😢

I know we need to cover their updated features. Thanks!
Both sound great.

I'm learning Finnish! I have a competition there in a few months and would like to be able to have basic conversations.
Very cool! What kind of competition?
@@TestPrepInsight Finland is hosting the 2024 Masters World Weightlifting Championships in September!
Thanks; you've convinced me to sign up for LingQ instead of Lingopie. I really don't want all the visual dreck that Lingopie has on offer.
At 5:22 in the video, the French text 'd'être un canal qui pouvons enfin le capter' doesn't make sense. Makes me wonder about the app's accuracy
Yes, my final decision goes to Lingopie
Thanks for watching!

Good stuff!
Learning French for upcoming travel.
Nice :)
Thanks for sharing! I'll definitely check out Lingopie. I'm headed to Spain in 3 months and I'm excited to immerse myself in some Spanish language TV
That's a great call! Enjoy :)
I really like lingopie! I’ll check it out. Thanks for the content

I am trying to learn Arabic so i can connect with my husbands family. What do you think which app would be the best for arabic? Thanks
I am curious which app teaches quranin arabic better..thanks for the review
Does one need a Netflix subscription for using lingopie?
Only if you want to use that integration - good luck!
Lingopie sounds dangerous for people who may feel compelled to watch TV.
Funny! I was think the same… I haven’t had a television for over 20 years!!

Lingopie is pretty darn accurate. Not perfect, but we've had a good experience
Interesting
LingQ sounds like Link.
Lingopie sucks... LingQ is by far the best language learning program I've used
Why?
