    One small thing I will say is that content library seems to change drastically depending on the language. If I was wanting to watch a video at beginner Japanese level (think content for children learning language basics), FluentU actually has a lot more content there than LingoPie, which I wouldn't recommend until people get a little more comfortable with Kanji and hiragana/katakana. That being said the additional structure around the content itself is much more fleshed out on LingoPie so I'd still recommend that once you're wanting to get to grip with a wider variety of content.

    Note: Netflix is required. Without it you can't use it.

    I used FluentU several years ago and found it exactly as you described. Not bad but a little dry. I am interested to try out Lingopie with the newest language that I’m learning. Seems like a good way to learn some current culture, as well.

    Thank you for reviewing these two programs. This review is very helpful. I'm currently studying Spanish but having difficulty moving along the learning continuum. I've tried several programs, but haven't found that magic one yet.

    Both programs seems to have great benefits. To me, LingoPie is the superior program. The language help and monetary savings is huge for people looking to improve their new language game! Great video, appreciate your attentiveness to giving your viewers honest material.

    Great description and review. I really like the concept that lingopie has going since I am a visual learner and their platform seems to be more along the immersion type which is super helpful and keeps your attention span going, great review!

    I had never heard of FluentU (but of course had heard of DuoLingo, Babbel, LingoPie, Pimsler, and Rosetta Stone) Now I understand why :-) I really like your reviews, and agree on your comments about DuoLingo and Babbel (I use them both).

    Based on this video, I subscribed to LingoPie. I'm a very early beginner and am looking for content that matches my level. At first glance, I don't see a way to sort content by level. I also tried out Dreaming Spanish and while their beginner content is boring at least they have a way to sort content by level.

      I think it may depend on the language pair. Lingopie doesn't do a good job with Japanese (see my review above), while FluentU does.

    Great comparison, I think these learning via content apps are good but sometimes its hard to find content that you really like. I'm trying to learn French and find that conversation practice is the most useful to me rather but the listening practice of these apps are nonetheless very useful! I will check em out.

    Hi John, your link in the description for FluentU says first 4 months free.
    When I click on the link, I don’t see that offer. Just an annual or monthly plan with a 14 day trial.
    Do we need to enter a code somewhere?
    Thanks 🙏

    Does the language matter? Some platforms excel at Spanish for example, but Russian content is only so so.

    • @TestPrepInsight
      @TestPrepInsight  ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree with you that which language you are learning can matter for some apps, but generally speaking, not for these two. Because they leverage third party video content and layer on learning tools and features, it's less of an issue here. I don't think which language you're learning matters for these two programs.
