Because L4D1 survivor don't trust the military and even one of them said that they're done with the zombies. As you can see in Dark Carnival, their car can't drive along the road anymore cause it's blocked. If L4D1 leave with them it would not become Left 4 Dead anymore and become Left 7 Dead instead. But I understand that this video is for entertainment anyways.
This is exactly why they should go with them together instead of head to the island but they're decide to separate ways until to meet each other in different place again will be back together. When they're don't trust military evacation could easily get overrun and abandon at the same time manage to escape to find a safehouse.
The reason why it's not possible is because the Left 4 Dead 1 survivors are carriers carriers are basically like immune to the but whoever they're around they're basically turning to zombies that's why a crash course started in Left 4 Dead 1 no mercy that's why the helicopter guy crashed and then that's how crash course started
(Warning spoilers to the l4d1 comics) First off all in the l4d1 comics bill zoey and Francis are taken to a testing base and they are tested and turn out to be carriers but have to escape because someone sounds an alarm (zombies attracted to noise) and then they make the idea to get a boat and go to an island (bills idea) when in the sacrifice bill has to sacrifice himself by turning on a generator that failed (the l4d2 survivors were meeting up with the military and on the bridge in the parish you can hear the person on the radio say "are you equipped for carriers" so most likely the l4d2 survivors are in for the same thing that the l4d1 survivors faced
You can't just conclude an entire story off like this. people have no idea how to understand or explain stories and it really annoys me. Everyone is so simple minded

How is it smart to just go and get the same treatment plus have possible outcome to get overrun again. L4D2 survivors are mostly going to have the same treatment and they might or not have the same chance of escape like OG survivors did. They have a duty from their fallen. To get an island and try to live their lifes so they are on that.

So there's an official comic series for L4D 1, where after they were rescued in 'Blood Harvest' (note the military vehicle that fetched them), they were brought to an underground military holdout. While there, they discovered that the military were gathering survivors to find carriers of the virus in hopes of developing the 'cure'. Bill and the other 3 were then locked up. That's when they knew the military was not for them. The holdout was then overridden by zombies and the L4D 1 crew made their escape towards 'The Sacrifice' map (checkout 'Buried Deep', a fanmade custom map based on the underground military base mentioned). Louis and the others got firsthand experience on how the military treats survivors, that's why they did not want to go with the L4D 2 survivors. Not to mention, Bill sacrificed his life to get them a chance to go to Florida Keys islands (this decision happened in the official comic series). Perhaps the reason why they did not say anything to the L4D 2 survivors was because they do not have exact proof of what the military did to them. No use trying to convince a group of people they just met that their last hope wasn't what they had in mind.
Additional detail. The official comics also explained how Louis got his injury. If you noticed during the start of 'The Passing', Zoey mentioned they could not lower the bridge because they have someone injured up there---that was Louis, who you could also see sitting down when you reach the last map of the campaign and talk to the L4D1 survivors. Although it was not shown in-game, the L4D1 survivors actually found a luxury yacht with all the supplies they need before they got to the bridge (this was shown in the official comics). But, when Louis opened the thatch to the bottom deck, he was surprised with a literal coven of witches in bikinis. He got scratched in the leg while trying to escape. Aside from camaraderie, the other L4D1 survivors could not leave Louis because he was the only one among the four of them who knows how to run a sailboat, which Bill suggested would be the better option since it would not require stopping for gas (ahem, Virgil, ahem, Hard Rain). When they got near the bridge, they found a new working sailboat with some supplies. However, the bridge (which was then lowered) was hindering the direction they need to take to go to Florida Keys Islands. So they had to startup all 3 generators to raise the bridge, Bill sacrifices himself, and the people of L4D2 arrives momentarily to complete 'The Passing' scenario. The official comics ended with Louis, Francis, and Zoey looking ahead into the sunset on the sailboat. Hoping the islands is truly where they can survive. 😢

The L4D characters didn’t go with the military with the L4D2 characters because of bill’s main mission and because they KNEW that the military would kill them or test on them and then kill them since they are CARRIERS and you can also hear zoey say “should we have told them?” As the L4D2 characters leave and the writings at The Parish can show how There were many carries and were killed and only Nick knew since he was also a former criminal and it only makes sense he would know because he was a criminal
why is nobody in this section not talking about the fact they literally just found out they were carriers before this campaign? Making friends with another crew could kill everyone on top of bill's sacrifice. There were more than enough reasons to stay with Bill's vision for them.
The L4D1 survivors know what the military is up to. They know what will happen if they go with them. What begs the question is, why didn't they tell the L4D2 cast about it?
