I get that they decided it would be better for things to be underpowered rather than overpowered when there was a risk of never being able to get a second update, but no one's wrong for being unhappy that we're stuck with the lesser of two bads here, since there's no sign of any second big community update on the horizon. I don't hate the update, but it's weird that being even remotely critical of it gets you met with severe backlash (and being portrayed as "making hating it your life goal" even when you've only made one or two comments about it in the 2 years since it came out.)

This is the hardest I've laughed at a TH-cam videos in YEARS. Thank you! You have this mystic abiility to be relatable and with a humility so admirable. I subbed and liked. I'm looking forward to new content.
Sad people consider the Last Stand as a "bad" update, genuinely don't know what people hate about it. It was such a great update. It fixed lots of bugs, made the pathfinding for Witch better (she no longer retreats for stupid reasons such as you walking up the stairs), added new weapons, has cool new FOVs (i like old too), and lots more.
I like the new melee weapons besides the knife because its hitbox is entirely broken, but the other guns it added in should have stayed disabled. Their animations are buggy and besides the STG and MP5, they are useless. Whenever I see a weapon spawn taken up by a knife or bolty, I die inside.
@@FUJIIDEW Agreed, I also dislike the Pitchfork because its hitbox is a little bad. I DO like the Snipers, because they do more damage than the normal ones if I'm not wrong? But they're painfully slow they're basically useless in Versus.
I used to he obsessed with L4D2, I dropped the game when TLS came out for a number of reasons: -All the new weapons are awful. They conflict with L4D2's aesthetic and their balance is non-existent. Why would I even use the bolt sniper over even the pistol? Seriously, did the update devs even play L4D at all? These weapons feel designed for a completely different game. Oh wait, that's because they are, they were designed for Counter Strike. -They removed exploits that no one had problems with. Who asked for a fix for bile/grenade jumping? No one. I agree with patching exploits in versus, but not in campaign. It just ruins the fun and lowers replayability. -It broke a massive amount of mods, many which haven't been fixed to this day. -The Last Stand campaign, the update's namesake, is a short, shallow, forgettable campaign that was clearly rushed. -On release, they implemented an extremely stupid "anti vocalizer spam" system which would kick players if they spammed voice lines. Problem is, this was obviously never tested because it would kick people just using the vocalizer normally. I would sometimes get kicked just by saying one voice line, and sometimes never get kicked when spamming death screams. It was thankfully patched out very quickly. -Speaking of the vocalizer, a lot of the "new" voice lines were actually unused and they were unused for a good reason. All of the unused laughter lines are terrible, they sound extremely forced and unnatural, you can tell they were unused for a reason. Worst part is they didn't add them back, they replaced voice lines. I still miss Nick's "can you forgive me?", my friends and I loved this specific voice line for some reason and would even repeat it in real life, and now it's gone, replaced by some dumb snicker no one asked for. -This is subjective, but many of the new animations look very unpolished and amateurish. Why did they even think replacing Valve's animations was a good idea? -Mods were disabled for versus matches now, even in private games with no option to enable them. I understand a very small minority used to install mods that gave an advantage like bright colors for special infected, but who cares? If people want to play competitive, balanced versus then go to a competitive versus server, there's a lot of them. Public versus is fun because of how chaotic and unbalanced it is. This isn't TLS specific but it was a server side update made shortly just before the update so I'm including it anyway. These are all my personal reasons off the top of my head, I know I'm missing more but I can't remember right now. I used to play L4D2 daily for hours but now last time I played was a couple of months ago. The update claims it was made by the community, but there was a clear disconnect between the community and the update devs, so it was more of a "made by a group of the community who wanted these changes". Don't get me wrong, it made some good changes as well, many bug fixes were welcomed and the FOV slider is a godsend, but overall I feel the game was in a much better state before TLS.
I can't believe that in a whole year, no one said a thing about how in 6:07 he tells the bots by chat to stop typing because they aren't humans...why am I watching a video of over a year old?
The knife used to be the best melee in the game until those clowns that made the last stand update nerfed it. Edit: i don't care if you think knife was OP or stuff like that, it was never part of the game in the first place, and Valve introduced the weapon scripts of the CS:S weapons without even looking at them, that's why the guns are garbage while the knife was good. On top of that, an update to revert the nerf is planned so stop whining about it.
@LOAN NGUYEN can't argue with that, the melees in general are unrealistic in that regard, they just mow down zombies. though a light knife if swung with full force will still end up swinging faster than a machete.
0:11 theyre holding MP5A3 with a RIS interface, KAC rail covers, with what looks to be a Truglo 30mm red dot sight The one that francis has has a side folding stock (you can see its folded, and you can see the MP5 charging handle in the "open" position). While is not a weapon found in game, they could have gotten them from deceased SWAT officers or Navy Seamen, since those guns were in service with them [that would be my in-lore explaination] [Now for the more grounded awnser] Or the artists had a prop MP5 lying arround, they asked for their model to pose in a certain way, then to give the next model the prop and to pose in that other way, and finally to the third model to pose in that other way, then they use that sketch to make a final drawing and thats how and why they have the same gun that its not in the game.
Im on mobile and I literally got an ad before the video started and your thumbnail worked so well for that small rectangle that says "loading video after add"
you forgot to mention that in the dead center loading screen the survivors are holding MACHETES, a melee weapon that is reserved for the endgame campaign the parish (sometimes on the 1st level of swamp fever if the director is generous enough) and is IMPOSSIBLE to find in dead center
the german l4d2 version has been uncensored for quite some time now... Since january 2021 to be exact. I would know since i am german. And before that, there was a patch to uncensor it.
The reason Zoey's appearance changes so much in the loading screens has to do with the survivors being redesigned very late into development. Her jacket for example often resembles the jacket she had in Turtle Rock's version. Additionally Valve had a hard time deciding what kind of hairstyle to give her and at one point even planned to give her a bandanna. The Sacrifice was made post launch during the development of Left 4 Dead 2 hence why it features Left 4 Dead 2 weapons like the SPAS 12.
The censored version wasn't just the German version, it was also for the Australian version if I remember correctly. What was also removed was the Riot Zombie on the Perish, which made the campaign a whole lot easier lol. Luckily that is all in the past now
The loading screen posters were actually made in SFM and then modified with editing software/filters, that's why it looks like Zoey has 3 hands in the No Mercy poster (cause of the filter), and why her hand is _clipping into the rifle_ for The Sacrifice (SFM oversight).
Really? I always thought they got the actual actors (well the ones who they used their likeness to create the characters) dressed up for a photoshoot where they got them doing different poses, and they ended up picking the best ones for the game. Bill, Louis and Francis look exactly like their IRL in some posters. Thats something i didnt know.
I was playing the cut german version for over 7 years. I never thought after I got the uncut version update in 2021 that the game would become infinitely better.
The only good part about those snipers is that they can be considered the Tier 1 snipers (I don’t know if the hunting rifle would count as it was the only one in L4D1).
good video, minor addition tho: the german version is only censored by a single number in a text file, change that number and you get the proper version so while valve kept up appearances they also by no means ripped anyone off that is genuinely bothered by this oh also you can easily force that untitled loading screen by using snd_rebuildaudiocache from the main menu (however that will crash the game if you didn't do snd_updateaudiocache first)
HAVEN'T SEEN ANYONE TALK ABOUT THIS VIDEO'S ENDING 😭, It's accurate to how the loading screen feels when that huge stop happens, gave me a good laugh lmao
I bought the game in 2012. And am a German. So yea, disappearing zombies is fairly fun. When you just slaughter an entire horde of zombies... and are left with a room you could invite your in-laws to. And then gun them down. Though zombies disappearing DOES help the visibility. When zombies disappear, you can stop worrying about them. Out of sight, out of mind. Tho it also gets worse. With explosive bullets zombies have a chance to just... pop out of existance. Like, not even fade out. Just... fwoOOP! and they're gone. This can even happen with witches. Imagine, there's just a crying woman, she is shot a few times and then she is just... gone. Reduced to ashes.
1:57 expired milk instead of dying of thirst from nothing is better… your point still stands though as that wasn’t nearly enough compensation for the lobotomy the censored version
The fact the zombies dissapear is because the corpses would be so much that it would lag everything... The game also has an anti-gore setting you can deactivate.
I think the No Mercy poster has those weapons because L4D was originally developed off of CS:S's code, back when it was called "Terror Strike," so it's likely those weapons *were* intended to appear but were cut for whatever reason
They have tier 1 weapons in Crash Course because that's the next campaign after No Mercy, where they might have been able to find really good weapons, if they didn't drop em before the helicopter's crash, ofc.
I apologize if you already stated this further in the video, but a lot of people tend to forget L4D was developed by the same developers of CS:S, the port of 1.6 to Source. This probably explains why the CS:S weapons were used in the loading screens because they were most likely placeholders.
9:19 Very nice advice, and you can also put this bind F10 disconnect into your console or autoexec.cfg. It's faster than what I saw in the video. Change from F10 to another key if you want

L4d was originally a mod made by turtle rock studios when they were working on cs source. That could explain the messed up weapons you see in the loading screens
they could've done so much better stuff with the css weapons, honestly here's my ideas SG552 - make it so that zooming in with the scope has the same effect as CSGO where you have the reticle/scope in your screen, but unlike the sniper, the area out of the sight wont be black and impossible to see, think of it as a mix between a sniper and a rifle, do you want a sniper that deals more damage but can give you tunnel vision? or do you want a rifle that deals less damage but removes the tunnel vision? (also they could've changed the damage for the sg to be a bit better because rn, it's a re-skin m16 so they could've made a 30 round weapon that deals 40 damage (i feel like this would overshadow the scar, but idk one has 30 bullets and the other has 60 somehow) mp5 - this one could've been essentially just a stronger smg with a bit slower reload speed, more damage but lower mag ammo, like 30 bullets the Scout and AWP are hard to balance the AWP could maintain it's slowness but increase the damage MORE to maybe 160 (not to the 200 levels otherwise youre gonna 1 shot a hunter without headshoting) and smaller mag size like 8 bullets (to compensate for the higher damage the scout could also deal a bit more damage but shoot faster, like a mix between the 90 damage snipers and the 160 awp, maybe 120 damage with much much better accuracy compared to the other snipers, with maybe the mag size being 10 bullets tbh i think the hardest part would be to just balance these damn snipers because i seriosuly cannot see a reason to use them beside the other snipers that are automatic AND have much more ammo per mag but the MP5 and SG552 could've been essentially stronger versions of the M16 and uzi

There's a reason Rochelle's 150 decibel downed scream wasn't kept in the final game, but someone on the team felt it was a good idea to add it back in.
I don't hate the update, but it's weird that being even remotely critical of it gets you met with severe backlash (and being portrayed as "making hating it your life goal" even when you've only made one or two comments about it in the 2 years since it came out.)
5:42 I know that feeling
6:26 Rochelle has a chainsaw and a machete (dual melee when?)
8:17 Coach's face when he gets cheeseburgers
scout & knife only challenge if insane
I'll do the scout and knife challenge.
@@FUJIIDEW also there’s nothing worse than thinking you found first aid when it’s actually just the shovels handle :/
@@MannFace51 Or when you think you've found adrenaline but it's just the knife :(
@@FUJIIDEW Agreed, I also dislike the Pitchfork because its hitbox is a little bad. I DO like the Snipers, because they do more damage than the normal ones if I'm not wrong? But they're painfully slow they're basically useless in Versus.
I used to he obsessed with L4D2, I dropped the game when TLS came out for a number of reasons:
-All the new weapons are awful.
4:55
It's so funny how she turns lol
@LOAN NGUYEN attacks/swings way slower than it used to.
@LOAN NGUYEN nerf the same speed as the machete but the hitbox is smaller.
@LOAN NGUYEN you're carrying a combat knife not a machete, why whouldn't it be faster
@LOAN NGUYEN can't argue with that, the melees in general are unrealistic in that regard, they just mow down zombies. though a light knife if swung with full force will still end up swinging faster than a machete.
also the knife doesn't hit zombies to the right
0:11 theyre holding MP5A3 with a RIS interface, KAC rail covers, with what looks to be a Truglo 30mm red dot sight
The one that francis has has a side folding stock (you can see its folded, and you can see the MP5 charging handle in the "open" position).
While is not a weapon found in game, they could have gotten them from deceased SWAT officers or Navy Seamen, since those guns were in service with them [that would be my in-lore explaination]
[Now for the more grounded awnser] Or the artists had a prop MP5 lying arround, they asked for their model to pose in a certain way, then to give the next model the prop and to pose in that other way, and finally to the third model to pose in that other way, then they use that sketch to make a final drawing and thats how and why they have the same gun that its not in the game.
Im on mobile and I literally got an ad before the video started and your thumbnail worked so well for that small rectangle that says "loading video after add"
Zoey in the Crash Course cover looks just like Jen Taylor, but in Death Toll and everything else she looks way more like Sonja Kinski.
All the AK's in the L4D2 posters have been replaced with an AK74M,
When I was a kid, I always thought the crash course chopper on the poster, was a giant spider monster, really disappointed when there wasnt
Please never get a better mic it makes your videos feel so warm😭
you forgot to mention that in the dead center loading screen the survivors are holding MACHETES, a melee weapon that is reserved for the endgame campaign the parish (sometimes on the 1st level of swamp fever if the director is generous enough) and is IMPOSSIBLE to find in dead center
Just got through all of these nonsense videos bruv. Love them. Will be on the lookout for more. Keep up the great work!
o
Not sure what's that means but ai'll take it
the german l4d2 version has been uncensored for quite some time now...
Nah it's definitely real people involved
Ain't no way mans said the Last Stand update was a disaster can't have shit in Detroit
I was playing the cut german version for over 7 years. I never thought after I got the uncut version update in 2021 that the game would become infinitely better.
7:30 That looks nothing like an Aug. It looks like an MK18 with an EOTECH optic.
I had Swamp Fever at the time
The background song in the beginning is wounded war song from silent hill 4. It is not mentioned in the description.
God bless your soul
“Is that an AUG?!” Zooms in on gun that is clearly not an AUG
On the dead center poster Rochelle is holding a katana and a chainsaw
2:21 If they were added it wouldn’t be the only reference to source outside of the weapons we got in l4d2
So no one goona talk about how the bot bill just randomly gets covered in blood
2:10 to be fair, left 4 dead was originally a counter strike mod
These are my favorite videos of yours keep them up. Also you called the mp5 the mp4 at one point in the video lmao.
mp69 ;)
At last a good Source related channel that doesn't have the letters "A.R.G" tattooed to their butt
Thanks
The only good part about those snipers is that they can be considered the Tier 1 snipers (I don’t know if the hunting rifle would count as it was the only one in L4D1).
good video, minor addition tho: the german version is only censored by a single number in a text file, change that number and you get the proper version so while valve kept up appearances they also by no means ripped anyone off that is genuinely bothered by this
oh also you can easily force that untitled loading screen by using snd_rebuildaudiocache from the main menu (however that will crash the game if you didn't do snd_updateaudiocache first)
I really hope this blows up, these types of videos are really what got me into your content.
My man cannot identify the guns in left 4 dead 2 posters when it is the left 4 dead 2 crew
This video is that dude you tell to not think about it to much and still goes on and on
the last stand update was a blessing.
Sucks for the people who can't stand
@@nascoz3884 you got me there, good one
Last Stand update was pretty good tho
3:43
@@nascoz3884 yes
Oh man, I waited forever for a new nonsense video
I think you forgot to mention that the SG with a laser sight ENLARGES the laser too when you zoom in. Such a weirdy gun.
this was hilarious, i love your delivery.
HAVEN'T SEEN ANYONE TALK ABOUT THIS VIDEO'S ENDING 😭, It's accurate to how the loading screen feels when that huge stop happens, gave me a good laugh lmao
u cant believe how much more fun l4d2 is since we got the uncensored version here in germany
This is like the left 4 dead version of STiP0s dead rising cover art video lmao. Great stuff
Plot twist: All loading bars are telling you if the assets are loading.
Fr when the first time i play it i curious why i cant find M4 with a Scope
The dead center loading screen is perfect
Rochelle: has two melee weapons
1:57 expired milk instead of dying of thirst from nothing is better… your point still stands though as that wasn’t nearly enough compensation for the lobotomy the censored version
The fact the zombies dissapear is because the corpses would be so much that it would lag everything... The game also has an anti-gore setting you can deactivate.
I think the No Mercy poster has those weapons because L4D was originally developed off of CS:S's code, back when it was called "Terror Strike," so it's likely those weapons *were* intended to appear but were cut for whatever reason
Posters Are allways leave many questions but theyre still art
They have tier 1 weapons in Crash Course because that's the next campaign after No Mercy, where they might have been able to find really good weapons, if they didn't drop em before the helicopter's crash, ofc.
Louis got that nightskin rizz 💀
This video felt like a classic TH-cam video. The only criticism I would give is the lack of the rebuild audio cache background. Great video though! :D
*Clicks the video*
I can't look at No Mercy loading screen normaly anymore...
The rare loading screen for L4D2 is actually used when launching the credits of the game.
Zoey in blood harvest is pretty much 1:1 with zoey in no mercy.
I apologize if you already stated this further in the video, but a lot of people tend to forget L4D was developed by the same developers of CS:S, the port of 1.6 to Source. This probably explains why the CS:S weapons were used in the loading screens because they were most likely placeholders.
Well, by the time you made this video, we already no longer had the cut version, and those weapons don't exist anymore.
I heavily appreciate all the Silent Hill music in use here
" how come everyone else is posing causally while bill is on guard? "
It's a frecking zombie apocalypse; do you expect *no one* to be on guard? NO!
My brain is too small to comprehend this
Omg I'm dead I love how you talk about zoey then she turns fast asf at 4:50 also my irl name zoey lol
Wait what the fuck do you mean disaster? The last stand legit brought life back to those games for solid months.
This rare loading screen can be found by typing re_soundcache in console to fix modded audio or tracks.
9:19 Very nice advice, and you can also put this
bind F10 disconnect
into your console or autoexec.cfg. It's faster than what I saw in the video. Change from F10 to another key if you want
Playing this game since I was in the womb still learning new things. Thanks sir.
9:32 starring your ancestor😂
0:00 She dipped her hands into a pot of ash before Valve had even got to take a picture of her and her team
Wait people don't like the Last Stand Update?
It’s funny seeing people in the steam forums say the majority didn’t like the update yet when you look anywhere else besides steam , there is no videos or internet post about how people should rally behind a rollback🤔. At best you can find a Anti-TLS steam group consisting of like 20 people, oh how satisfying😎
@@oxideactual1018 but why do these people hate TLS update so much? I'm new to the L4D2 community(in fact its only been a month since I bought the game with the free weekend).
Hate? No one hates the last stand up date.
@@oxideactual1018 i do believe the majority lives in the middle, that may like or dislike the new update but don't care enough to talk about it. those who jabs each other in the forums are the minority.
L4d was originally a mod made by turtle rock studios when they were working on cs source. That could explain the messed up weapons you see in the loading screens
This video mentally reloads my brain.
Fun Fact: An uncut version for the german version is already out for years. We basically have everything the original version has now.
THANK YOU i was annoyed and wondering why weapons in left for dead 1 was only on LATER versions of the sequel while still being held by them.
Thank god someone is talking about these things. Don't get me wrong, I love l4d1 and 2 but these things really bummed me out for years
Finally a nonsese video.....
i really wanted it
good i am not the only person who looks at the loading screen and is scared on what gun there holding is
The one in the shopping mall thing wasn’t actually false advertising in a way cos in the chapter prior to the end there were mannequins there
Hm... Interesting but it would've been cool to have an entire room full of mannequins just like in the poster.
they could've done so much better stuff with the css weapons, honestly
here's my ideas
SG552 - make it so that zooming in with the scope has the same effect as CSGO where you have the reticle/scope in your screen, but unlike the sniper, the area out of the sight wont be black and impossible to see, think of it as a mix between a sniper and a rifle, do you want a sniper that deals more damage but can give you tunnel vision? or do you want a rifle that deals less damage but removes the tunnel vision? (also they could've changed the damage for the sg to be a bit better because rn, it's a re-skin m16
so they could've made a 30 round weapon that deals 40 damage (i feel like this would overshadow the scar, but idk one has 30 bullets and the other has 60 somehow)
mp5 - this one could've been essentially just a stronger smg with a bit slower reload speed, more damage but lower mag ammo, like 30 bullets
the Scout and AWP are hard to balance
the AWP could maintain it's slowness but increase the damage MORE to maybe 160 (not to the 200 levels otherwise youre gonna 1 shot a hunter without headshoting) and smaller mag size like 8 bullets (to compensate for the higher damage
the scout could also deal a bit more damage but shoot faster, like a mix between the 90 damage snipers and the 160 awp, maybe 120 damage with much much better accuracy compared to the other snipers, with maybe the mag size being 10 bullets
tbh i think the hardest part would be to just balance these damn snipers because i seriosuly cannot see a reason to use them beside the other snipers that are automatic AND have much more ammo per mag
but the MP5 and SG552 could've been essentially stronger versions of the M16 and uzi
aw man imagine if we used the material that Zoey's hairband used on other stuff
