I have a 2011 with 130k miles and the transmission is being rebuilt. Didn’t offer lifetime then. When I bought our 2014 rubicon I did buy the lifetime warranty and it is very worth it. Love my Jeeps
The 3.6L Pentastar is a great engine! I love my 2012 Wrangler, it's just a little expensive to work on. You need $50 worth of intake gaskets to replace the spark plugs, because the driver's side bank is hidden under the intake. The automatic transmission in my 2012 was outsourced to Mercedes (I don't know if they still do), very smooth shifts and the tap shift is great! I daily drive mine and it's worth every penny!
I’ve got 2009 with the 3.8 minivan motor, just reached 180k Miles and it’s never left me stranded, never been rebuilt or swapped, oil change under every 5k and that thing has been on some joy rides, such a fun and reliable car to drive.
I've had a YJ, TJ and now the JK. The JK is the first one that my wife didn't totally hate. Still need to watch the frame in the rust-belt. But the JK floors haven't rotted out yet like the other 2. Getting close to 100k miles. I still love it. 2014 Rubi
Jeep rocks! Still driving my '97 Jeep GC that I bought in 2002. Straight six and runs as good as it did the day I bought it. I may ask to be buried in it. LOL
91 Wrangler here four-banger. 😜 Motor rebuilt about 300,000 mi ago. Bored out 30k over. I swap out the oil every 3,000 religiously. Valvoline conventional. Granted I replaced a lot of parts under the rebuild. Not one problem . And I never opened up the rear or the tranny . Just swapped out fluids😜✌️
My dad has a 16 Sahara. Only reason he has an auto is so that my mom could drive it in case her Kia breaks down (it's a Kia, what do you expect?). Rides well, and he has had one computer related issue he fixed himself while approaching 70k miles. And before that he had an 08 Sport model that he traded in at 120k miles with no issues but routine maintenance.
That Chrysler warranty was fantastic. I’ve heard multiple people who made out big time on that warranty. I had a 17 JK and rear brakes locked up on it at like 35,000, rear axle seals started leaking at 42,000 miles it was a lease. Gave it back, what a piece of junk. My 89 wrangler was more dependable.
This!! My 2012 heads were warped at 300miles they replaced one of them. The water pump went out right after. The heater core was full of casting sad. Radiator went out. Three gears went out and they replaced those. And now 80k miles it’s knocking like crazy again.
What kind of Kmart special axle seals are they putting on these rolling piles of junk? How about buying a car that doesn't need a damn warranty? I bought a Silverado in 2003. I drove that thing hard enough to wear out several F-150's and Dodge Rams. In my old age I am slightly ashamed at how badly I treated that truck. Yet, it's been only tires, brakes, oil, oil pressure sensor at 150,000 miles and the rear axle seals at 160,000 miles. That's it. Seeing as how QC has fallen off a cliff, I guess I'll be driving my Silverado until I cross over the Jordan.

200,000 miles on my 2012 Chrysler T/C van which was a good vehicle. I had the lifetime warranty and probably had $8,000-9,000 in repairs on warranty. Chrysler sold the warranty to a 3rd party and it was getting harder to get repairs approved. They would say “ that’s normal wear, can’t repair it twice under warranty”. I switched dealers and that helped some with the warranty issues. That was a great program while it lasted.
got a 2017 Sahara 75th edition two door, mainly for winter but it is great all year round, never open the freedom panels because they leak when I do. so far I like it.

We have that unlimited warranty on our 2013 Chrysler minivan. Last year, with 120k+ miles, both A/C evaporators went out. That repair alone paid for the warranty. We have saved thousands in repairs. Notice that they don't offer that warranty anymore.

Soon after the heater stopped working fasting sand was inside the heater core…. Then three gears in the transmission went out. 50k miles the radiator went out. I also have a 2015 2dr. I loved hearing him say that and I can attest to the fact that I've had very few issues and I just love the thing. Im just at 125,000 miles.
Had my 2015 2 dr 6spd soft top since new. I kitted out the interior to sleep one or two. The pass seat folds flat to make into a 74" bed with a 30" footwell. For a 2 dr it's pretty damn impressive. 😁
Good to see some positives on the channel for Jeeps. I own a 2003 TJ Rubicon with the 4.0L and a 2016 Rubicon Unlimited Hardrock with the 3.6L both with manual transmissions. Overall, both are great vehicles and easy to maintain and service.
👍2015 6spd 2 dr soft top.. annual synthetic oil, removable storage/sleep system, the pass seat folds flat to make a 74" bed. Can sleep 2 comfortably, inside! Love it. 😎
I had a 94 wrangle it had 200,000 still ran strong,I just got rid of my 2006 Jeep Patriot a year ago it had 160000 on it. I can honestly say that I will definitely own a Jeep again.
I owned a 97 XJ with 3"Lift and 32" tires for 17 years. It got a whopping 12.5 avg mpg. Straight 6 cylinder. But, it would take you anywhere, in any conditions AND BRING YOU BACK!
Outside of A/C and cruise the only option I would build into a new car would be constant camera recording from the front, interior, rear, and if possible surround, recording the instant that the engine is engaged and doesn't stop recording until functional shutdown. I wonder if M-B or BMW or Audi offer any such perks? When the police can make a quad out of you and get away scot-free I'm thinking it's time to employ such technology just for your own safety not only physically but legally. Some world we've created. Merry Christmas!
@@bobl8687 got a YJ in Vermont. Not a speck of rust. In the fall .I touch up the undercoating. Then shoot the bottom down with used motor oil three times during the winter.

I had a 2016 wrangler with upgraded ko2 tires, fox shocks etc. I sold it mostly because the transmission shifter would often vibrate out of gear into neutral, on the highway it would vibrate so bad I had to hold it so it wouldn't pop out of gear. It was common with standard transmissions, too bad, I kind of liked it, except for that.
Bought my 2 door 2012 jeep 6sp manual brand new. It's been dead reliable. Never had to do anything other than a few batteries and camshaft position sensors and fluid changes over the years. Love my jeep jk
I’ve had a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee WJ with the 4.0 l6, but unfortunately the engine cut its life short because the engine blew it’s guts out. I’ve took care of the Jeep very well but the previous owners never did and they really beat the heck out of it. Just days before the engine blew up I heard a rattling noise from the engine every time I rev it I really couldn’t figure it out what’s wrong with it. Until I found out after that I had a rod knock that it the piston rod shot right the oil pan and completely destroyed my engine. I really love Jeep’s but 90s and early 2000s are my favorite when Daimler Chrysler was around. I’ll get another Jeep someday but only as a weekend off road Toy instead of daily driving. Because basically I turn my 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee into endless money pit for 3 years.
Way back when I was in high school a guy I knew had either a 1970 or 71 Jeep with the straight 6 and manual transmission. That thing was indestructible. It was so overbuilt you could beat it to death and it didn't phase it. But now I wouldn't touch a Jeep especially after the merger with Fiat.
Am I the only one that is still running around with a 2003 Jeep Liberty with a V6 engine and 250k miles on it? What do you think of these 03 Liberties, Scotty?
Surprised He has not replaced the "Left Cylinder Head" "Cams & Lifters" both sides A Radiator the "Front Ball Joints" both sides and all the "Door Seals" for water leaks
Scotty Here's the question If all manufacturers actually built their cars well, how much would it really cost!? You wouldn't puss people off, you'd have a good name and happy customers!
I don't know why Toyota won't sell a modern day 4 door FJ40. Very few people were buying the $100,000 Landcruisers. But sell a super stripped Landcruiser with a DIESEL for 4Runner money... heck I'd buy one.
I have 97 wrangler 4.0 5 speed with 297,000 miles and it gets right at 20mpg on the high way and that’s not driving Ms daisy Drivin even though it’s always drivin Ms daisy drivin.. It has original everything and I would hop in it now and take it from Va to Cali worry free
i have a 99 xj with amc 4.0l and AW4 trans. i get 18mpg highway and can tow cars from texas to wisconsin the last real cj jeep was produced in 04 everything after that is counterfeit if there is a MAF its not a jeep
Had a deer accident with my car last night. A chevy cruze and I hope to get a new 2022 or 2023 jeep wrangler sport asap. I have 3 people to carry including myself. You think 2016 is the last year to consider one? I will buy this week probably.

I believe he was talking the JKs. 2007-2017, but mentioned the 2015 in the video
@@epi_Slash I see, thank you for the clarification.
Love it. 😎
2016 Jk Sport with 6 speed manual, proudly made in Toledo Ohio. Love Jeep
I had a 94 wrangle it had 200,000 still ran strong,I just got rid of my 2006 Jeep Patriot a year ago it had 160000 on it. I can honestly say that I will definitely own a Jeep again.
Thanks for watching send a direct message right away I will love to bless you today 🤝..
If you ever go back to Moab Utah, you should go visit Rory Irish with trailmater
Here in the UK (as far as I'm aware) such warranties are usually underwritten, so your still covered irrespective in the event of insolvency.
Thanks for watching send a direct message right away I will love to bless you today 🤝..
I have the 21 Rubicon V6 Penstar so far it’s great and I plan to keep it for a long time
Thanks for watching send a direct message right away I will love to bless you today 🤝..
I would hope so it’s only 1 year old.
Don’t forget to unlatch the tension rod on the 21s! If you don’t they blow transmissions pretty frequently
@@CarsTechWood I don’t get it, Tension rod is more for the suspension, how would this effect the transmission?
TJ was the last decent Jeep to own. Those were built like tanks.
WJ was good too
I agree 100% except from their frame design. 99% of the TJ's in the Northeast are all rotted with rusty frame.
@@bobl8687 got a YJ in Vermont. Not a speck of rust. In the fall .I touch up the undercoating. Then shoot the bottom down with used motor oil three times during the winter.
@@bobl8687 l have a 2000 model took off the doors top running great all original ,love it.
I have a 2005 TJ unlimited. All original Arizona Jeep. No rust, 4.0, 6 speed manual, love it
I have a 2004 jeep wj with a 4.0 and i think thats the last year of jeeps i would buy
Love you Scotty I've had three Jeeps 2000 2002 wranglers. 4.0 straight 6s 5 speeds. I have aJeep gladiator 2022 now call Willy's edition I paid 46 Grand lots of options strong 290 horsepower pentastar V6. 8 speed transmission Dana 44s front and back. Straight axles in the front and back which is unusual nowadays. I'm retired not expired. And I enjoy it very much. I've had luxury trucks Big Horn edition. But I live in Kentucky now from Illinois and I don't regret either the Jeep or the move thanks for your input, ♥️🤍💙🤠😳
Damn phone I drive a 97 Cherokee 4.0 over a quarter of a million miles never been down I keep the oil changed but starts and goes every day . . Not much rust either for an Indiana car everything works on it I've had a few over the years . . And will look for another one god forbid this one goes bad
The 4.0 Aisin transmission combo was the best.
It was probably your tires. My 2016 had no vibration problems.
@@frankevans6584 There was a recall on the manual stick. No issues with mine but had it upgraded anyway.
Bought my 2 door 2012 jeep 6sp manual brand new. It's been dead reliable. Never had to do anything other than a few batteries and camshaft position sensors and fluid changes over the years. Love my jeep jk
Bought a new 1981 CJ and ran it for years. Upgraded to a 2007 JK. Plan on driving it for year also.

Denim jacket.
Denim shirt.
Hopefully no Denim underwear!
Keep plugging Scotty!! Love the Channel! Thanks for all you do!
That's a really nice Jeep! We love the blue color.
I have the 2015 2 door. And is drive like a dream
The Cherokee's are a money pit. My father had a 2002 and the trans went out at 60k miles after a handful of maintenance problems. Never again.
Gr8 job, sir! Very informative and interesting.
From one Scotty to another. 🚙

HELLO TO BOTH SCOTTYS YEEEEEE MANNNN
I have a 1998 jeep Wrangler 4.0 , I bought it in 2003 . I wouldn't trade it for a newer .
If I had to choose between a new Land Rover Range Rover or the new Jeep Grand Wagoneer, I would go for the Jeep without hesitation.
Traded my 2013 wrangler sport for a 2013 f150. Miss the manual transmission. Other than that I’m completely happy.
According to Consumer Reports, BMW is the #3 most reliable brand behind Toyota & Lexus. In 4th place is Honda and 5th Mazda
The jeeps used to have tiny tires, they were cool and nice ride with small tires!
the jeep snatch is available in the uk too.
I know ppl that take he top off and when they put it back it’s never the same. It start leaking and it never the same.
Am I the only one that is still running around with a 2003 Jeep Liberty with a V6 engine and 250k miles on it? What do you think of these 03 Liberties, Scotty?
Junk!
I like it. Rather have an old battle wagon Willy's though.

Had a FJ40 with a 327 Corvette engine that would pop wheelies. Got me into a lot of trouble back in the '80s :(
Proves the Americans can make decent vehicles and other products they also make braces made in USA really well made solid grips .
They don't do those warranties any more.
Resale sucks with Jeeps , Fun but Jeep at 55k snd 4 runner toyota, Ill take the resale on the runner .
The Jeep you should buy is the one made in the 🇺🇸 or any V8 powered Jeep
The jeeps to buy are the ones older than 2006
Scotty Kilmer is now a Jeep man. My Celica and I are schocked!
Surprised He has not replaced the "Left Cylinder Head" "Cams & Lifters" both sides
A Radiator the "Front Ball Joints" both sides and all the "Door Seals" for water leaks
Scotty
Here's the question
If all manufacturers actually built their cars well, how much would it really cost!?
You wouldn't puss people off, you'd have a good name and happy customers!
I don't know why Toyota won't sell a modern day 4 door FJ40.
Very few people were buying the $100,000 Landcruisers.
But sell a super stripped Landcruiser with a DIESEL for 4Runner money... heck I'd buy one.
Thanks for watching send a direct message right away I will love to bless you today 🤝...
Jeeps are sleek looking 👍 especially fan boys who style them beautifully 😍
Love my 2022 grand cherokee and my 05 grand cherokee.

Many believe a 'lifetime warranty' lasts as long as they own their new car. Actually, it is only until the owner sells or loses the dealership.
@scottykilmer Got the lifetime warranty on 2013 Town and Country. They don't offer the lifetime warranty any more.
Had a brand new JK...POS from day one. Would like a TJ in good shape.
You KNEW there’d be a graphic when Scotty said “it’s got a big rear end.” YOU JUST KNEW IT! 🤣😉😉
I hake interior panels for those!
I can’t believe Scotty is recommending that Pentastar V6.
Thanks for watching send a direct message right away I will love to bless you today 🤝....
Yeah....not long ago he said they were junk. Cracked cylinder heads I think.
This obviously has been taken care of. I'd still never own one. Having those failers at that low milage. No thanks.
my 95 Nissan 4x4 was a crapper
2017’s are awesome!
At least we got the first gen titans out of nissan before it went down hill.
I drive my car like a toy flooring it and taking corners fast. Idk how long that car is gonna last but it’s fun

Nice Jeep, great color!
Why would they go down in quality? Same parts suppliers, same design, same workers, same assembly plant, same engine.
You sounds like a lot of fun…not
Had a deer accident with my car last night. A chevy cruze and I hope to get a new 2022 or 2023 jeep wrangler sport asap. I have 3 people to carry including myself. You think 2016 is the last year to consider one? I will buy this week probably.
Cool i have the same model and year! =)
I also bought the Mopar lifetime warranty!! Ive used it 3 times and has paid for itself
