I came across an article saying that the vram is set to 3GB in the bios which may not be enough for some games. Here is how to change it... legiongolife.com/legion-go-3gb-vram-heres-how-you-change-it/
@@ChristopherToro lmao, the ally is a missed market. It doesnt offer enough over a steamdeck to justify its price point for the average consumer. At least the go is offering a whole bunch of new features and new form factor for the price bracket the ally is in. You dont need to try the go to know its more woth the same mony youll spend on the ally. Ally just didnt hit its mark plain and simple.
Guys vrr doesnt make 40 fps feels like 60. 40 is 40 😂 In handheld gaming you can lock the fps either in 30 /40/60 and enjoy. Higher than that you might want to play in laptop instead because battery will be chugged
VRR syncs different frequencies to make fluctuating frame rates feel smoother. V sync isn’t needed. Meaning if you turn v sync off on your Legion Go, you’ll see a lot of screen tearing. It doesn’t make lower fps feel like higher fps that’s true. But it does render v sync useless and smooths out the fps a great deal with lower latency. It’s important mainly because of latency and screen tearing. Which to me are huge deals.
I don't see any reason why it wouldn't be able to play GTA online. It's a PC, so it should play just fine just like other online games such as COD and Fortnite
@@OVERKILLGAMING786 That's what I wanted to hear! I don't play story mode. And live in an RV by choice. This thing is an excellent replacement for my Xbox! Very few other games but watch movies and such.
Ram speed has no effect on performance unless it's below 3200. The go is gonna be a flop it's got a higher resolution screen that's useless really unless you're playing decades old games and there's no VRR freesync or anything which is a must have on a handheld. The battery is barely bigger and will now have to charge the controllers that have separate batteries and power the larger screen so battery life will be just as bad or worse than the ally. It's just a pointless device the company even admits the Ally has better speakers which is probably true but how you putting down your own product 😂 all it has going for it is the hall effect joysticks other than that you'd be better off getting a rog ally steam deck or just an $800 gaming laptop would be better
If we do decide to pick this up, we will do some tests against the Ally. The beauty of purchasing through Best Buy is that I would have two weeks to test and decide if I want to keep it or not. As far as whether or not faster ram will make a difference... the slower LPDDR5 6400 in a 128bit configuration gives out around 100GB/s (128bit / 8 byte * 6400 = 102.400GB/s). The faster LPDDR5X 7500 in the same 128bit width gives out 120GB/s. From the get go, the faster memory provides 20% more total bandwidth. But the problem here is how much bandwidth is left for the GPU considering how the CPU is also a client for the same memory. We kind of know that each 4-core complex in the PS5 takes around 20GB/s, with the 8 cores taking 40GB/s for themselves. In the case of the Ally it should take around the same, because we're looking at a similar CPU power. This means that the leftover bandwidth for the Ally's GPU is going to be 100GB/s - 40GB/s = 60GB/s. If it used LPDDR5X memory, it would have access to 120GB/s - 40GB/s = 80GB/s. So in reality, if Asus had used the faster LPDDR5X memory, the GPU would have had access to 33% more bandwidth. And the GPU in this SoC is mostly bandwidth-constrained. It's very possible that LPDDR5X implementations of the Z1 Extreme will run around 20-25% faster in GPU-limited scenarios. 25% faster is a lot. It's the difference between 32 and 40FPS, for example. Or between 40 and 50 FPS. Or between playing on medium and on high in many games.
You nailed it, This is why, even owning a Ror Ally I already ordered my Legion Go at BestBuy and will decide which one I will return. I expect keeping the LEgion Go, in HANDHELD world RAM speed matters a lot. As EXTREMELY WELL explained by you. Thx

Yes and no. Cloud saves will require an online connection. Gameplay will not require an online connection unless the game itself requires an online connection.
@@OVERKILLGAMING786 is it any easier to use than the rog ally. Is it hard to use like the rog? Or is it actually configured to work without hacking it like a 💣
@@OVERKILLGAMING786 I don’t wanna pay 800 for something that’s gonna take a gorilla on years to get it to work. The steam deck is set to play right out of the box. Is it remotely close to that?
I hate these bait preformance videos. They sit there move 3 feet go to stletting talk for 30 min walk an inch go to another setting lol like wtf. Clearly you arent trying to show off the true preformance
Don't worry. When I get it in my hands I will show you plenty of performance. Let me know what games you want to see. If I have them I will show them off.
What I want to know is can it make phone calls
Haha... we'll put it to the test. It's a PC so I'm pretty sure it can
I thought it was a 2560p screen
1600p
2560x1600
For the long time i play pc handheld form gpd days you think vrr is needed? you fooling your self. just buy ps5 or pc lol sold my rog because its suck currently enjoying onexfly much more miles better than rog😂
Buy a PS5 or a PC? I already have two gaming PCs, a PS5 and three handhelds. I'm Overkill bro. I'm that guy. I'm HIM! VRR is not needed, but very nice to have.
Im only getting 20fps on my go on cyberpunk
I came across an article saying that the vram is set to 3GB in the bios which may not be enough for some games. Here is how to change it... legiongolife.com/legion-go-3gb-vram-heres-how-you-change-it/
All on low
@@OVERKILLGAMING786im about to to do that. Thanks.
I hope you play a heavy game like PUBG
Sell the ally get a go
I don't sell. I only buy.. lool
Try it first 🐑
@@ChristopherToro lmao, the ally is a missed market.
Yes it can...
Looks like most people disagree with this statement
I really wanna like the Go more than the Asus but, it looks like ass.
I guess 🤣... looks fine to me
Did you really say cyberpunk is your favorite game 😂
Yup. I said it. Now what.. lol
Est ce que tu peux essayer fortnite ? Stp
Sure
Yes
Can it play GTA online?
I don't see any reason why it wouldn't be able to play GTA online. It's a PC, so it should play just fine just like other online games such as COD and Fortnite
@@OVERKILLGAMING786 That's what I wanted to hear!
I don't play story mode.
And live in an RV by choice.
This thing is an excellent replacement for my Xbox!
Very few other games but watch movies and such.
Btw I haven't used a windows pc or other device in at least 20 yrs.
That's why i was asking just android and Xbox
Just ordered mine yesterday the 1TB version, it’ll go well with my ROG Ally
Less than two weeks away. I can't wait!
Thx
Naw….this ish is bad azz….lol lol
Thats your opinion, I believe many people will be just happy with this device and wouldn't call it a "flop"
You just sound like a salty Rog Ally owner lol
