- The EU's foreign policy chief has told DW she expects the US will respect the sovereignty of Greenland, after Donald Trump's threats to take the Danish-controlled Territory. Kaja Kallas also said there haven't been any discussions about stationing EU troops there.

Kaja Kallas was born in the USSR with a golden spoon in her mouth.
Her father joined the Communist Party in 1972 at the age of 24 and became director of the Estonian Sperbank at the age of 31. A high position with a high social status, company car, nice flat and dacha. The family had access to foreign luxury goods, a privilege that most Soviet citizens could only dream of. He later became editor of the local party newspaper. The family thus belonged to the ethnic elite in the Soviet empire. The family was fully integrated into the system and certainly did not suffer.

Have you seen how many countries fled the USSR when it fell, so to gain their independence and join NATO and EU as fast as they could? No one wants to be part of Russia it seems.
There are politicians from several Eastern European countries who intentionally 'poke the Russian bear', and don't mind to start a war between NATO and Russia so that they can use NATO to eliminate Russia once and for all. The Baltic states (where Ms Kallas is from) are now joined by Ukraine (under Zelensky) to push the NATO-vs-Russia confrontation towards the cliff's edge.

I don’t think they will decide anything. A small population with big resources on an island. Certainly there is a big predator who will hunt for Greenland, regardless of what Denmark or Greenland think. They cannot do anything. Though I think US will try to improve the quality of life of Greenland people as well as infrastructure. Europe is surging in global irrelevance with every year that passes. Economically & demographically shrinking relative to world, technologically it fell behind US, China and many others, no significant natural resources. Greenlanders have not forgotten what it was like under the Danish. No country in north or south America will support continued European colonialism in the Americas. We all have experienced that in our histories. Let the Greenlanders vote for what they want. They will vote for full independence. Also, history tells us, if it's between money and independence, independence will win every time. Besides, if Greenland is so rich with natural resources, independant Greenlanders, with their small population, would be more like Qatar, UAE, Brunei per capita income. The majority of Greenlanders just do not identify as Danish. Their peception is that for many, many years the Danes saw them as ignorant and drunks.
