👁 About this video : Checking out the brand new 2021 Jaguar F Type R!! Today I got behind the wheel of a 2021 Jaguar F Type R! What an amazing car! The shifts are instant, the interior is spot on and very premium feeling and the exterior has a great look! I like the practicality with the hatchback design, it provides good storage space for a two seater. The two tone interior is good looking! There are two other engine options to go with, but as this replaces the SVR, it is now the most powerful and it's very good in the power delivery. A manual version is not available for the 2021 model year , I have no complaints about this transmission, it's very smooth at slow speeds and even with the rwd system, it's smooth in parking lots. It handles well and isn't too loud, so if you want a comfortable daily driver that still has the driving characteristics, this is a perfect car! It also looks really good in red!

I have a 2015 SVR all black..it has rarely given any big problems. Besides the interior and back looks exactly the same as the 2021. Love driving it. Puts a smile on my face every time i take it out. Highly recommend!

Bros FOURR Speed Unfortunately that’s modern sound regulations for you. Plenty of great aftermarket upgrades available though. Plus a simple plug and play exhaust valve unit would easily help increase the sound in the low/mid part of the rev range.

Hi Mike 🙂, this F-Type R is so you all day everyday, I can totally see this being your daily driver is. Now this is what I think of when I think Jaguar, the exterior color and smoked out front headlights are everything.

I love my FType, I have an old V6S in silver with black 20's and black pack. Not too sure about the new front end so I'll stick with my classic looking version 👍

Good job. I would still have liked to hear your thoughts on the "road feel through the steering wheel". Was there communication? Or was it a "numb steering feel". Have you driven the 2021 Aston Martin DBS Super?
The Jaguar F-Type has great feedback in the steering! It's a very good handling sportscar and nice to drive!...And haven't been in the Aston Martin DBS yet, hopefully this year I can check one out!
No doubt this Jaguar looks so good but just quite underrated and often labeled unreliable because of its history. I hope this would this will be a game changer.
I absolutely love this car! It's a shame you don't see more because it's very nice on the interior and more classy, but still has that sportscar performance!
@Bros FOURR Speed the thing is not so many people are buying this car, I mean american muscle cars have also some quality and reliability issues but people really buy these and the car company continues to reproduce more. European sports cars are exotic beauties and exclusive, if it gets broken you have to take it to the dealer to get the spare parts. Of course I admire European cars, it would be great to test drive those, but for me, even maybe you and your brothers it would be more practical to get JDM sports cars.
@@redrock1541 Yea we generally stick towards jdm cars, but I experienced with my lotus for a little bit. It was reliable for the time I had it, plus was having a camry engine, but body parts could take up to 9 months to get which was scary, jdm cars are way easier to work on for sure!
Bros FOURR Speed Camry engines can run a million miles😊 it's basically JDM hidden in a European suit. I admire lots of cars but the thing is that we can't ride all of that at the same time. If you live in Manhattan you may prefer to be a motorcycle rider LOL.

It's kind of funny that people hate on certain cars and yet in videos like this they love it.
I love it, I couldn't find anything I didn't like about it. This is the second one that I have been able to drive and I would say one thing is the exhaust, the previous generation sounded much better!

I had the 2014 car for around 3 years, the inside plastic components were a serious failure and Jaguar knows it, they became sticky in hot weather (I live in Houston, enough said). It seems like most of these components have now been replaced with brushed metal. I wonder if there are any parts left that could still have the same problem. Eventually, before I traded the car in, I figured out that you can clean those parts with a diluted ammonia mixture and some elbow grease. Anyway, I will likely go back to it, I miss the rumble even though the present E63 has a good one as well, the convertible two seater is something else.
Oh dang! That plastic coating is such junk. I've seen it on BMW cars too. Glad they swapped a lot of it out for metal!

Test drive complete: If you're in the market for a GT car you'll love it! If you're wanting a sports car, you'll want something else. Huge improvement over the SVR, but doesn't feel hardcore enough to be a proper sports car. The dynamic mode setting should be normal mode, and then make dynamic mode even stiffer with more steering weight and feedback. Also, the exhaust valves should stay open the whole time in dynamic mode, not just under heavy acceleration. The reason you by the V8 is to hear it, all the time! I'm guessing this can be addressed at a tuner shop with ECU programming... or a new exhaust system.
Yea I could see the exhaust note being louder!! It is geared more towards a good daily cruiser with the option to go into some sport modes, kind of the best of both.
@@BrosFOURRSpeed To me it seems they missed out on the opportunity to make the new car something special. The great thing about adjustable suspension and steering, and active exhaust, is they could make it both a daily cruiser and weekend warrior. This is in part why people are willing to hand over stacks of money for a Porsche 911.

This is my dream car. But after seeing this video. They should really make it a mid engine car. Like lambo. It’s so perfectly set up for it with that huge glass back window for the trunk. My god would be absolutely perfect. I will have this car soon!!! Maybe not new. But I’ll have it :)

Do you think this vehicle would be good for a (almost) daily driver in Alaska? I live on an island South of Anchorage called Kodiak. There are lots of unpaved roads outside of the city limits where I live, there are also many sloped hills throughout the Island. I am thinking about getting the 2021 Jaguar F-Type R customized into my hands, so I need maybe just a little feedback.
In my opinion with unpaved roads, you really wouldn't be able to drive the car the way it should be. I've never been to Alaska so I haven't seen the roads, but I'm not sure this would be the best way to explore and drive around.

what happens to the door handle after you open the door. Does it remain open or does it close itself? Or you have to push it in manualy after pulling the door handle?
They will close automatically when it goes into drive and when you lock it. If you close them by yourself the car will lock too.

YH Chen Both are pretty quite while cruising. But the Jag is definitely a step up in refinement. No rattling door panels here 😅

I'm not sure! I drove a 2016 or 17 I believe and it pop and sounds much louder!
US dealerships made a tweaking for the crackles.. Europe versions still crack so much

Let me just tell you that the f-type v6 is the best sounding v6 ever made as declared by Jeremy Clarkson from Top Gear.
The V6 is gone as of 2021, in the US. The existing V6s sound way better than the new even more muted V8s, but a 2014-2016 V8 is the all-time King of cars. Shockingly loud with a gorgeous villian car roar. Hmmmmm, the F Type is no longer offered with a manual so if you want that go with the lotus. Both are fun, you have "backseats" that won't get used in the lotus, but they are there if you really need to use one. You can get a 400 for crazy cheap since they aren't really selling too.

I know some friends that works for jaguar Land Rover and as beautiful this car is they don’t recommend this car for it does have a reliability issue.. I still woul like to owe one though..
Yeah I know there are some issues with the Jags. It is a nice car tho! And I havent really seen too much wrong with the FType
