Finally Driving The NEW Jaguar F-Type! [Is It Better Or Worse?]

- 3 years after I sold my beloved F-Type R, I finally got the chance to check out Jaguar's new and apparently improved version!

F-TYPE looks more
beautiful than ever
and embodies Jaguar design
DNA in its purest form. The
two-seat sports car offers a
perfect balance of performance
and driver reward with an
even more muscular, assertive design and a cabin defined by
rich, luxurious materials and
beautiful details.
The range of powerful,
responsive engines includes
four-, six- and eight-cylinder
options*, all matched to eight speed
Quickshift transmissions
with full manual control using
either the SportShift gear
selector or the steering
wheel-mounted paddles.
The new 450PS supercharged
V8 has been developed to
offer exploitable and rewarding
performance - its maximum
torque of 580Nm being
generated from just 2,500rpm. It
is offered with a choice of
all-wheel drive and - for purists -
rear-wheel drive. Both versions
can accelerate from 0-60mph in
just 4.4 seconds, and reach a
maximum speed of 177mph.

accrued from the development
of the limited-edition, 200mph
Jaguar XE SV Project 8, the
Quickshift transmissions in
both the new F-TYPE R and
the 450PS V8 models have
been meticulously recalibrated
for a more engaging driving

crisper gear changes when the
driver commands shifts manually
via the steering wheel-mounted

We know jags are maybe not the most technically advanced, maybe a little behind the Germans. However in a world of identikit cars, due to safety legislation etc. Jags remain distinctive and you know its a jag and they are British.... I think they remain a cool and proper car choice 👍

I think they will achieve more success if they offer a bit more performance, the are offering a 2 ltr throughout the line up. They must consider offering a performance version of xe with a inline six competing with bmw M3, Audi rs5, merc c. Also add a 3.8 v8 to their xf to compete with m5,s8 and e63s amg.
Ps I know about the project 8 being a competition to the m3 but it is limited in number

The v8s is even cheaper if you don't mind a convertible. That's what I have

This is my absolute dream car and I will be able to afford it in 4 to 5 years. It's just painful to watch it on the screen and not being able to touch it. I crave it soo badly

Was very lucky to try both V8 models at JLR Fen End and loved every second. You will love the R, a noticeable increase in every aspect, performance, character, smiles. What is clear, is the passion Jag engineers have for the F Type. Proud V6S owner but oh so tempted by the V8.

Ha ha. I had a 2016 V6 and went up to the V8 SVR. Man alive, it is in another league. Lucky for driving in NZ!!!
the front of the car looks mazda-ishh...and the back basically didn't change.
i have a 2020 V8 and would hate to lose any exhaust sound - its a HUGE part of the experience. LOVE the sound.
If I am ever able to own a sports coupe, this would be the one. I thoroughly enjoy my 3L V6 supercharged F Pace now, even that is amazing to drive and put a smile on my face. Thanks for the this fun video!

The front looks like a new Mazda 3, it´s not bad but I still prefer the old one.

The 450 4x4 was so planted on the gymkhana track at Fen End even as an inexperienced driver in that car I had loads of fun.

In my opinion I reckon you choose the best version of the bunch, in reality you really don't need more than 450bhp for a GT car and AWD just gives a good all season car. Like the japonese Jaguar knew were to improve the car on different aspects and the result it's very good. Nice one for reviewing this version.

In the right spec i think that this car has an 'Aston Martin vibe' wich i absolutely love. Would be great to see one returning to your channel.
The older Rs are bloody good value for money. You can get them on finance for the same money as a new 320i.

I think if this would be my only car, I'd have the new one. Still sounds really good, looks good (i mean, imagine it in a dark green metallic with espresso brown seats) and maybe a bit more civilized and usable on a daily basis.

I’m not a fan of the headlights but have always loved the F type. Not many here in Melbourne. When I see one they certainly get my attention.
I am a big fan of Jaguar. After this video I made a special trip to my local dealer to check out the new F Type - In the Metal. The changes are subtle and really a matter of taste. I still prefer the overall look (especially the front) of my 2016 model. I hope that Jaguar still and will still continue to create beautiful, rather than "striking" cars. Wait until we get the CX75 (JLR if you're listening). Now that will blow everyone out the water !! But great Video and positive comments.
Good review as always Sam, ever thought about a dog belt harness? Just incase of emergency stops? Would keep twiggy from being a bolognaise in a crash?
She is harnessed 99% of the time. That dog bag can be clipped into the safety belt
Great to see Twiggy is settling into the sidekick role.
Have you considered getting a little harness and a dog seatbelt tether? Will stop the dinging and also helps incase you have an accident.
