Actually as a kid I disagree... a lot of kids even over 13 are being groomed on this app. All these controls do is monitor the child's servers and friends, pretty reasonable tbh.

When I was 13 Discord was 1 year away and my parents had not given a flying damn about what I did online, nor did they care about what I played or watched.

My parents didn't care either! They let me shut the door and look at all the Porn I wanted, Pirate music, curse constantly on voice chats, etc.
And it absolutely has a negative impact on me. It exposed me to tons of stuff I should had never been looking at. Hell a buddy of mine started making meth at 17 with the help he got online.
Trust me bud. There is nothing wrong with boundaries for a developing mind.

I love my kids. I'm sorry but he had his whole life to be impacted by the Internet and have social media shape his personality. For 17 years however he will have boundaries for his own benefit and well being.
