I love the opening of this Overture. It is so beautiful

Vous êtes de grandes musiciennes et de grands musiciens , comme si ces oeuvres vous étaient dédiées .
Toutefois , chaque ensemble musical peut avoir ses spécificités propres et c' est tout aussi honorable .

With a magnificent Ouverture underlined by a magic recorder, rythm, tempo (dare a such tempo 👍👍), a beautiful Sarabande, engagement of all instrumentalists (particularly Mrs Oberlinger 👍) and this Telemann sumptuous music, BRAVO ❤❤❤

Hier wird uns eine Musik geboten, zugleich federnd leicht und furios zugleich. Wir erleben, wie die Elemente zu toben beginnen, und zwar mit einer Lust und Wucht, als könnte man von diesen Stürmen gar nicht genug bekommen.
The electric energy of Telemann’s music was composed at time long before before the concept ever had been discovered is phenomenal. The controlled joy on the faces of the musicians and empathic glances, mutually shared is wonderful to watch. What a fantastic performance, what a team of gifted musicians. Well done.

Ma fille pratique le hautbois et le basson. J'imagine très bien toutes les heures de travail qu'il y a derrière ce concert. Ainsi que la bonne humeur entre musiciens entre deux répétitions.

Das Ensemble spielt sehr lebendig, interessant, manchmal etwas extravagant, aber nie langweilig . Telemann hätte sicher Spass beim Zuhören gehabt.

Definitely One of Telemann's finest Suites! Here played & phrased so well! His impeccable "Tonmalerei" on full display! The Serenade to this Suite (1723) is also impressive = Admiralitaetsmusik! ;-> BRAVO Tutti!! Superbly played/captured without being over-played! ;-}
The customers at Cafe Zimmerman in Leipsig always preferred Telemann to JS Bach. He was a little more jolly.
As a consumer (not the best word), I am a period instrument orchestra aficionado - have been following Europa Galante, Il Giardina Armonico, and Musica Antique Koln - almost since they began - you guys are spectacular. This is a simply exquisite rendition. I'll be keeping up and supporting you.

Mi Telemann's favorite work. Pure music, only art. I love Georg Phillip Telemann!
Telemann was a most prolific composer, and also open to foreign influences (including, e.g. Rameau - the rhythmic briskness of this sumptuous Suite seems to me a testimony to that particular influence). He certainly had his ups and downs, but this one is definitely an 'up'!

A wonderful performance of music that I haved loved since the beginning of the 1960s when it was the signature music to a classical music radio program in Sweden. How intellingently they play and with such musicality. They open my mind concerning how you could play several of these parts of this well known music. Hats off!

Eine großartige Aufnahme! Ich bin begeistert und dankbar, endlich wieder ein Video von dem Bremer Barockensemble zu hören. Die Musiker spielen mit so einer Begeisterung, dass ich den Eindruck habe, ich bin mittendrin und spiele selbst mit. Bin selbst Musikerin ( Blockflöte und Gambe) , habe aber leider nicht die Möglichkeit, in so einem professionellen Ensembles zu spielen. Ich freue mich jetzt schon darauf, ein solches Konzert einmal live zu erleben!
Darauf freuen wir uns alle - aber wenn die Politik so weiter geht, wird das nie wieder der Fall sein.

Fantastic stuff. Great performance of a great work by a great German composer.
Truly a masterpiece that deserves more play. Telemann's oeuvre is uneven (see also Liszt), but this is a bright spot.
Wonderful performance, enjoyed it immensely!! And playing only a few miles from where it was first performed!
So Telemann starts with some blank sheets of manuscript paper and, eventually, we get to hear this. Miraculous!

The "overtüre" is very good, just in the French "goût d'ouverture", except the up-beat middle section is not in the often used simple 3 measure. But there is the return to the initial feeling of the "pas du roi" slow movement. Telemann is a great composer, and is only a pity that he is not as known as Bach, Vivaldi, Rameau, and Haendel. His recorder suites are simply amazing!
That end bit really makes this suite for me

The practiced art in concert is the great joy in music. The wonder is that you do so much of it and so well.

"Flut" (the "h" is sometimes added in old writings to indicate a strong "t" at the end of the word) means "flood" - so "Hamburger Ebb' (Ebbe) und Fluth" means "Hamburgian Tides".
