    I’m torn between accounting and nursing but my heart goes for accounting but I’m afraid it’ll be very difficult just what gossip says, after watching this video makes me realize it isn’t that hard. This video really help me decide! Thank you!

      Nursing does pay you well than Accountants.. Your job is also secure and you get to interact with humans in nursing job... In Accounting you sit in front of the system all day .. I am thinking about these aspects.. what you guys think? Let me know

    • @stingthekitty

      @@myphotosone You have to take into consideration that nursing is also extremely hard work physically and long irregular and crazy hours.(Where I live the salary is mediocre so def. not as much as an accountant) It may work for some but other people enjoy more regular and predictable life. Also as a nurse yes you do interact with people a lot, but I have to say that patient interaction is very particular and should not be considered the same as a normal interaction. You have to be empathetic and work on developing a therapeutic relationship with your patient no matter what happens in your personal life, which can be rough sometimes ! Depends on what the individual prefers :) But both are great and nursing is def. a very rewarding job where you can have a direct impact on people's lives! But it is really not easy money

    I really like how you broke the problem down in simple steps. It reminds me back in algebra days we had to highlight every little number in word problem and that definitely simplified things. So appreciate for showing a sample question. Accounting definitely looks interesting.

    Thanks Sara for the video, it was the only video I could find for what to expect in the accounting field, I have searched every detailed video of accounting, a day in the life, what they do but every video just stated they examine financial records and make sure taxes are paid, talk to clients. I am a Yr 11 student very much enjoying business studies and mathematics because I am top in these subjects. I have been contemplating on becoming an accountant for a while but had no information on what I would get myself into in university and didnt want to change courses. This video has reassured me that accounting is my future career because I love these problem solving, analysis questions and would love to see more math involved. I am in love with business but never sure what the accountancy field would bring me. I want to thank you so much as you have saved my future, please more upload videos like these (not just homework but everything your channel already has). Please do not stop because there are people out there like myself who you are significantly impacting and helping their future and lives. Once again thank you so much for this in depth video of what your homework is.

      I've always owned Apple computers and never had any issues. Excel works perfectly on Apple computers and you won't really learn accounting software until you're working as an accountant. Most schools don't teach accounting software because every company uses a different one. Hopefully that helps!

I am trying to search about Accounting/Accountancy because it's one of my options but what if I am not fond of analyzing? In school, I hate tests like problem solving. Hey Sara, Ive been watching your videos for a long time now and the time has finally come for me to take intermediate accounting I, I will be taking it during this summer; which is a 6-week accelerated course. I was just curious on which planner you recommend for writing down like a study plan or how you plan ahead of time. I currently plan on reading the chapter first, attending class and asking questions, if I still don’t get it ask the TAs for help and of course practice on the homework and in class problems. Is there an additional tip for me? I know this class will be very intense. But I hope to give it my all. Thank you girl!

    How is the tax rate 40% when you only subtracted 1 from 60%??? I'm so confused...

    • @YawMadBrah
      @YawMadBrah 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I can make it clearly for you. At this point, we'd know that 60% is After-tax rate (600,000dollars). So, 100% is the EARNINGS BEFORE INTEREST AND TAXES (EBIT) and 40% is the NET INCOME. First we must find out what EBIT(100%) is, so 600,000/0,4=1,500,000 dollars. Now we know that EBIT is 1,5 mil dollars. Furthermore, to find out what the net income is, so 40%=1,500,000-600,000=900,000 (100%-60%=40%), 900,000 dollars is the net income. However, in the video she indicated (1-0,6=0,4) 40% tax rate which it the appropriate way to do it (EBIT - income taxes = Net income), but don't get confused by that. Very late comment, but hope you get the point. :)

    I understood everything but how she got the 40% tax rate😕

    • @coffeepandacat
      @coffeepandacat 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So the formula is: (1 - %)
      Remember when you subtract a % from a whole number, you move the decimal twice to the left. The after tax rate was 60% so that makes it 0.6
      And then you minus 1-.6= .4 = 40% tax rate.
      You treat 1 - 0.6 like 10 - 6.
      Hope this helps 😺

      Yang Skie if you look at it like an algebraic equation, you will see (1- x)=.6, basically it’s 1 minus what gives you .6
      So the answer is .4, you can check that it’s correct by simply adding .4 and .6 together to get 1

    • @yangskie3315
      @yangskie3315 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Emily Fiaretti sorry i can't still get it😣😣 6+4 is 10 is that equivalent of 60 percent
      By the way thank you so much 😚😚

    • @emilyfiaretti5103
      @emilyfiaretti5103 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yang Skie 6+4 is 10. But she’s using decimals. 0.6 + 0.4 is 1
      When you work with percents you change them into decimals so that you can add them correctly. So the 60% will turn into 0.6
