"Wilfred Prosper's Reel" - Calvin Vollrath and Clinton Pelletier - Red Bluff Session

Calvin: "I just wrote it the week before and we played it at the show in Cape Breton, that night. The show was part of 'Celtic Colours' and they were honouring a fiddler who past away a number of years ago. His family was in attendance. I composed it that day and played it that night. Hadn't played it since".
Below is a write up for the tribute to Wifred.
"Wilfred Prosper's early life in Potlotek, Cape Breton, was surrounded by music. Young Wilfred first learned to play the guitar, but at the age of sixteen he took up the fiddle, through the influence of Mi'kmaq fiddler Simon Cremo. Wilfred became an accomplished fiddler, winning many awards throughout his lifetime. He frequently played with the well-known Eskasoni fiddler Lee Cremo. Wilfred Prosper was also a long time member of the Cape Breton Fiddlers' Association so it's especially fitting that we pay tribute to his legacy today in Eskasoni, his home in his later life, and with the Fiddlers all around. Also paying tribute will be his family, with two generations now carrying the legacy of his fiddle playing. The special guest will be one of Western Canada's most renowned fiddlers, Calvin Vollrath, known for his mastery of Old Tyme and Metis fiddle styles. Wilfred would be thrilled."

This tune was for my grandfather Wilfred Prosper in Eskasoni First Nation during the Celtic Colours Tribute. This tune really suits the style that he was into. And he loved the difficult tunes. Without a doubt he would have loved this tune

Hi Ernie. Nice to virtually meet you. It was an honour for me to play at Wilfred’s tribute in Eskasoni NS. I composed this tune the day of the tribute and performed it that same day at the tribute. Are you a fiddler yourself? Glad you like it.

I imagine Calvin's very high on a lot of people's fave lists. Add a picker like Clint into the mix and you've got a pretty unbeatable duo.
