  • In this video we replace the lower leg of a HPR suspension fork from a Hyper bike. It was not pretty. The bike shop has been so busy and I have not been able to do videos. I will work hard to get those videos out on time. Thank you all for sticking with us.

    You pick a good place to make video, there is so much other stuff in the far away picture I can't even tell what you're working on.

    Can you recommend a reasonably affordable replacement fork that will be an easy install? My forks don't move at all on my 29" Hyper. I only ride on the road.
    Thx,

      Rock Shox would be best. If you need more affordable go with SR Suntour.👍

    See i cant find a video on my problem. I have a hyper bike, exactly like this, i was riding fast and a drop came out of nowhere, i landed it wrong, and now if i hit a bump thats a little too big my fork slams into my from wheel and stops my bike.

      We have run into this before. The best thing is to replace this fork with a SR Suntour or a RST. Just make sure you get the right size. Goodluck.

    Can you do a video on “how to stiffen/loosen an hpr suspension” I’ve looked everywhere and couldn’t find anything and if I did find something it was about Air suspensions I’m sure it’s pretty simple but I feel like I been doing something wrong

      Super difficult. You have to do some major modifying. Its best to buy a better fork. Sorry for the late response.

      I just got a new bike with this front fork, Hyper Explorer 29er DS, and the front is just completely stiff, won't even move.

      I had the same problem. It is not a high-end fork. Do yourself a favor and buy a higher end fork. Now that I said that if you don't want to do that if you remove the two bolts in the fork you can tap the legs down and look in the fork for garbage. Clean the fork out and put some good suspension bike gear in the fork and put it back together. This fork doesn't have much travel and that is why I think you would like a different fork. I hope this helps. Goodluck!

      @@alloutbikes where did you get that very long Allen that you used to unscrew the screw all the way down in the suspension?

    can you recommend a fork upgrade for this bike? Also can you recommend a rear shock upgrade as well?

    • @alloutbikes
      @alloutbikes  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry to take so long. SR Suntour makes a XCM fork that would make a nice upgrade. The last one I sold was $149.99. As far as the rear shock goes an air shock is the way to go. Rockshox makes on for about $200. The problem is that is more then what this bike is worth. I don't know for sure if you have the same bike. You may be better off to put that money into a new bike. I hope this helps. On this bike a fork would be nice. I would leave the rear shock alone. Goodluck.👍

    Wouldn't it be easier to simply straighten out the fork?

    • @alloutbikes
      @alloutbikes  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Due to all the lawyers out there if the fork fails after I straighten it they would be all over me and I would be out on the streets before the end of the year without a penny.

    Those arches are so weak, flex too much making some steering very weird; anybody know how to stiffen up the arch on these cheapo bikes?

    • @alloutbikes
      @alloutbikes  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is so easy....Buy a new fork. In all seriousness you are better off buying a 1" threaded RST fork. It has a cast aluminum lower leg that adds some serious strength. If you want to try to stiffen up this fork. They use to make a brake booster that would stiffen up the brake. It also helped stiffen the fork although this fork is so flexible that it may fail. I hope this helps. It is best to upgrade. Goodluck👍

      @@alloutbikes "Brake Booster" Thanks. And yes I get that an "upgrade" is best but bikes are stolen all the time in my area and I don't want to waste even more money.
      This society has to change for the better, yws? We need some better raising of children and the majority needs to be convinced to help make this happen; no? If we let and/or cause crime, we're not really living a decent life, right? Raising children needs an upgrade (chkl), ya?
